This is me. I love earning the trophies, it feels like adding the game to my portfolio. If I didn't care so much getting games for free would be amazing, but I'd reel robbed not being able to show off my accomplishments on my profile (though let's be real, who's looking?).
It got loads of content over the years and a lot of it is free, it includes new cars, tracks and events. So it's like playing a demo at this point if you don't update. The main problem is the size, you have to download around 20 gb so it takes a lot of time.
One way to check is to see if you have "Ayrton Senna Tribute" and "Sierra Time Rally" special events in main menu. You also should have "Vision GT" section with unique cars specifically made for the game.
Whoa Folklore, a complete collection of Ratchet & Clank, a physical copy of Siren Blood Curse, multiple HD collections every God of War and Motorstorm, and they all look to be in pristine condition. $400 may be steep but with how well taken care of these cases look I assume the discs are in perfect condition as well, plus quite a few of the games in this collection are valuable, I paid $40 for a brand new copy of Ico & Shadow of the Colossus a few months ago so a used copy in that condition probably would be $30.

I'm with you in that no one is actually buying these games at these prices. Except for the absolute die-hard fans and there a few left who are still looking for these cib games. The extreme minority are buying at these prices. Gen 7 has been on the up and up for years, it's just now reaching popularity amongst casual people. It'll drop just like the 8-64bit wave of nostalgia. We'll still be here though
It has always been something like: release date +(20-25) years for peak pricing. Gen 7 kids are now in careers with more expendable cash. RD+50 years for people to stop caring/collectors dying.
Yikes. Yeah. Of course children may find value in it when they are older but i doubt they will want a room full of games, or even be able to cater for that. Even if so grandchildren and great grandchildren will just view them as middling to low value antiques. Museums will take the odd thing but not all of our collections.
And then some of us may not have family to pass on to and the care homes won't have room for this shit.
Yea the only ones that are valuable in there is Folklore, Siren, the Spider-Man games, Killzone trilogy and the God of war volume 2 collection. Everything else you can get for cheap or a relatively reasonable price.
You can search on eBay, search for specific title and then select “sold items”, also select “buy it now” option, because if the “auction” option is selected, then the price is not reliable.
Edit: I forgot to tell you, when you do all the above, chose condition of a game you have, then you will have the list of latest sales on eBay for a game just like yours. Also check for region, price for PAL and NTSC games are usually different. Take the price of the last 10 sold games, combine them, and use the average sold price, then that is the average worth of the game you have.
PriceCharting is also working based on eBay sales. But they don’t update sales regularly so it’s still better to check on eBay.

Sidebar, I found some old yugioh and Pokemon cards, I'm assuming that wave of value has passed? I should use the same methodology to find the value of the cards. I feel like cards require someone to grade it? etc. I'm not familiar with this world.

As for Yu-gi-oh! and Pokémon cards, I use cardmarket.com, they are reliable, and easy to find everything, there, you also have how much your card is worth, to which deck it belongs to and all kind of info. You just need to find your exact card, example, Dark Magician, there is so many of them, some are looking the same, some are not, but they are all different, with different worth, so look for the card number, its usually right below the picture/art on the right, it has mix of letters and numbers.
If the Spider-Man games and some of the other rares were not in the lot, I would say you probably over paid. That being said, you got a pretty good deal for what was included.
Yeah there's 49 games if I counted right, so $8.16 per game. Most of the games in the pic are worth at least double that with some being a fair bit more. Like R&C Collection and Nexus are worth a fair amount each.

Ratchet Jak sly trilogy is around 50 each usually ratchet booty physical is nice it wasn’t available in the us physically. God of war origins is sought after because the “saga 5 game collection” was just a digital code so that origins disc was missing. Killzone collection has exclusively the only way to own Killzone hd on disc too. Who ever this belonged to clearly was passionate about getting the complete games on disc so really good collection starter

That system is also multiple generations old at this point and was probably the worst PlayStation system lol.
Worth it, because those Spider-Man games are worth close to 300 alone at the moment, plus there’s some good collection games like mgs, r&c and sly cooper. Not an amazing deal but definitely worth it according to current prices

The majority of those can be found for $5 or less each at any local store that sells ps3 games. The only ones I noticed that actually have value right now are the Sly Cooper games. Those are selling for roughly $50 each.

Updates don't apply to a disc. You have to download those on every console you try to use it with.
