I don't know what y'all were playing at 3yo, but i had a PS1 at 3. I played Atari Anniversary Collection Redux a lot. I'm 24, now, and still play it on my PS3.
I have clear memories of playing my PS1 when I was 3. Edit: I'm seriously getting downvoted about my memories of playing video games? Unreal... I know what I remember.
When I was three I got to watch my mom's boyfriend play RE1. Now I can laugh at the live action cutscenes. But to three year old me those muppet dogs were the scariest things ever. My mom dumped him over the nightmares.
I have clear memories of watching my older brother and our uncle play SNES together when I was 2 and 3.
Also clear memories of the first time I was allowed to play anything on the SNES, but I was 4 by then.
Sometimes really good memories and really good times, are the ones, I figure, people will remember well.
This is real my little brother rembers playing ps1 with me when he was about 3-4. We used to put the end of his controller underneath it and say it was the “secret slot” since it only had two ports and he would think he was playing 🤣🤣🤣
I played on NES when I was 3 lol Though NES games were much simpler, I played Wild Gunman, Yie Ar Kung Fu and Circus Charlie. I don't know if I could handle the games on PS3 at that age 😆
Im the same age as op and my brother had ps3’s one fat and one slim, i remember playing bo2 gun game on hijack and a bunch of more games, it just depends on the person.
Why wouldn't he? I have memories from being about 2-3 years old, and I remember gaming at maybe 4. It was a lot harder back then due to undeveloped motor skills and all of the joysticks being huge.
I remember opening my Atari Entertainment system (the 2600 for those who know what it is today) Christmas morning in 1978, but I was 12 years old. DAMM, I feel old right now. Lol.
I may have got a console a bit later, one of those snes clones maybe when I was 4-5 years old, but yea, I remember playing them. In fact, my nephew kinda remembers playing on my PlayStation 4 when he was around 3 and he’s around OP’s age now.
Is this the og PS3 or a modded
Anyway what games are you looking forward to playing if you listen to me try the god of war franchise and the last of us and tomb raider
I'm not sure it is, and from the 80GB it would be a semi-backwards compatible one at best trim looks matte not shiny though so I doubt it. I had a CECHC03 which was pretty good, just wouldn't run PS2 versions of *OutRun* which is a big part of why I upgraded.
I know it's backward compatible I also have a PS3 mine is the super slim version and it is modded and that is the only console I have I've played all the games I could dream of right now I'm thinking of buying a pc tbh I want to buy a PS4 but I need a pc for video editing and stuff I'm not looking forward to the pc to play games or stuff I just need it to make videos
As for your PS3 try to get your hands on god of war Ascension we could play multiplayer together
Wdym suggest good games i suggested the best games to him yes I forgot some like GTA 5 mortal Kombat far cry dark souls Batman Arkham City blur and prototype idk what you find funny like ben 10 Omniverse 2 but he said it is on ofw so that's why I only told him the games that would have him hooked for a while
He said it's on ofw so I figured he should get these to play so that he won't have to pay a lot it's not modded so he have to buy the games physically and he shouldn't buy a lot of games that's why I told him the 2 best options
I'm 14 and I remember playing the SNES back in 1993. Great times back then. I'm probably the only one in my teen group of friends that played the SNES back then.
I was a little older than 3 when I started playing the PSX and vividly remember watching my dad set it up for the first time. My 3yr old son plays minecraft on my pld ps4 and is very competent. Some of us are just born gamers.
It's possible he was playing a bit, like holding the controller/actually playing a game for toddlers but nobody has these vivid, accurate memories from 3 years old because that's not a thing no matter how much reddit wants it to be.
But yeah, I was playing Super Nintendo with my dad at 4, and I could play and understand what I was meant to do on Super Mario World for example, but I wasn't dexterous enough to hold the Y button at the same time as other buttons because I had 4 year old hands so I literally couldn't play properly. My first real video game was Pokémon Red for my 6th birthday.
Dog what didn’t you understand he didn’t buy a console from some random guy on Facebook he bought one in box all the cords like the OG EXPERIENCE. It felt like getting one new at a store that’s what he’s talking about
Im suprised GameStop actually had one of those laying around. That specific store probably got it in on trade. I was under the impression that if they got anything good retro like that, they send it off immediately to be sold online for high $$. Enjoy it and take care of it
Jesus Christ so many people going at OP for remembering something as a 3 year old lmao. The first game I remember playing at 3 was MK3 and I remember just straight losing and being terrified of the animalities
How is that striking gold???? This isn't the backwards compatible one, and you can easily find a slim which is more reliable, more power efficient, quieter for $60-80. The only thing worth extra value here is the box.
Ps3 had a lot of games that ran at native 1080p internal resolution no upscaling. The majority of AAA games nowadays struggle to hit an internal 1080p resolution before relying on upscalers to reach a 4K image.
The 80GB version of the PS3 is a TANK!! In my experience, these last a lot longer than the 60GB version.
This one isn't backwards compatible to PS2 (it says so on the back of the box in Picture 3), but it is still awesome! It will play PS3 and PS1 discs of course.
Have fun!
Wow and you remembered, I played Just Dance and Mario on the switch with my daughter she's 4 although she played it the first time at 3. I have to cherish these moments. I hope she'll remember.
The first game I played was Mickey castle of illusion on the Master System around 5.
I'm 37 and I still have memories from when I was a bit younger than 2.
Every time I start up my PS3, I feel a little sad for what the XMB morphed into. The 4 and 5 got progressively worse bastardizations and the VITA got a pile of skittle icons.
Funny I was 16 when this came out and it was the first console I bought with my own money and on launch day. It’s funny hearing someone’s nostalgia over this but I guess that’s what the SNES is for me lol.
Still got my ps2 which was my first console and still have my ps3 my ps4 which was first console that i bought myself, a ps4 pro and a ps5. Later found on a fleemarket also a ps1 and a ps2 slim, a ps2 eye. A move collection (incl camera and controllers) a psvr1 set and a psvita. As far as i am aware every console is still working. Would love to get my hands on a psp.
I'm looking for a fat ps3 with the 4 ports. They are completely backwards compatible. My old one broke. One of them main reasons I never got a ps4 or a ps5, they are not backwards compatible.
Lol all of you joking but my daughter has been playing my ps5 independently since she was 2. It's not a huge stretch that he was playing Little Big Planet or something at 3.
15 of 25? Lol
Either way, enjoy! I would suggest opening up your console and cleaning and replacing the thermal paste to avoid any problems in the near future.
I don’t know why people lying about having vivid memories at 3. My earliest memory was around 5. It’s extremely rare to remember anything before 3. At most you’re probably telling people what you were told you did at 3 and don’t actually remember it.
Parents told me I was helping them with their DOS computer when I was around 4ish but I def don’t remember it
Awesome man have some fun , losers on here will question you for anything. I remember openening my wii And I was a toddler as well. Ignore the people who don’t feel like sharing in your joy and jailbreak it if you can. Make sure to watch the temperatures and keep the vents clear. Super lucky to find one in store
What was you playing at 3 years old
Grand theft auto
IV
V
VI
VII
VIII
IX
X
XI
I had a leapfrog definitely not a ps3
I probably had silly putty, bouncy ball and a tonka truck
I had a Sega Pico when I was a wee lad. Still do, in fact.
Metal Gear Solid 4, obviously.
Played on GameBoy
Sonic Unleashed
I don't know what y'all were playing at 3yo, but i had a PS1 at 3. I played Atari Anniversary Collection Redux a lot. I'm 24, now, and still play it on my PS3.
surprisingly i had the same experience playing gta iv at like 5
How much was it?
Bro you were 3 years old in 2012. You remember playing this when you were 3 years old?
I have clear memories of playing my PS1 when I was 3. Edit: I'm seriously getting downvoted about my memories of playing video games? Unreal... I know what I remember.
I remember sucking on a tity of a neighbour!
good times
Oohhh, you just don't know. Those were the Times ma frend'
I would hope so, it happened last night
Yeah but that was 2 days ago sir. 😂
When I was three I got to watch my mom's boyfriend play RE1. Now I can laugh at the live action cutscenes. But to three year old me those muppet dogs were the scariest things ever. My mom dumped him over the nightmares.
Trust me, I remember dying in crash a lot. Even remember them trying to trick me that the controller was plugged in 🤣🥲
Same here dog. Sega at 3. I remember. 💯✊🏽
That's reddit for ya 🤣
yeah i got a N64 at 6 and remember having a genesis and an NeS before it
So do I, I got gifted my uncles old mega drive and have vivid memories of playing the first level of sonic and some duck tales game.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you do have a few memories I go back to 2 yo
I remember playing space invaders and teddy hunt on my dad’s pc at the age of 3 in the 80s
They’re called false memories.
I remember too man
Me too lol
I'm so jealous of all these people remembering anything before 7 years of age lol
I played on NES when I was 3 lol Though NES games were much simpler, I played Wild Gunman, Yie Ar Kung Fu and Circus Charlie. I don't know if I could handle the games on PS3 at that age 😆
I have memories of playing halo 2 on my babysitters Xbox 360 go pro model when I was 3 so it’s not too surprising
I remember the first video game I ever played when I was 3, Devil May Cry on the PlayStation 2. Remember that day very clearly still.
I remember using my Wii when I was around that age.
I remember playing on my 360 and Wii at the age of 3, it’s not insane for someone to remember that.
I was 3 in 89 and I remember the first time I played mario.
I definitely remember playing stuff like the Spider-Man movie tie-in games on the PS2 when I was 3
I remember tapping away at the Amstrad CPC when I was around 3, back in ooooold 1986.
I remember opening my Atari Entertainment system (the 2600 for those who know what it is today) Christmas morning in 1978, but I was 12 years old. DAMM, I feel old right now. Lol.
How time flies 🫣
Flies? You mean warp.
I remember playing my neighbours colecovision when I was 3. I even remember the game I was playing. One of my earlier memories but not my earliest.
I had a brother with 3 years old at the time and he remembers playing a tennis game with me on ps3
I remember playing on my PSP when I was 3 too.
I have to believe him because I remember learning to walk and I’m not even joking.
I remember running over hookers at 3 or 4 on the ps2 in grand theft auto
I may have got a console a bit later, one of those snes clones maybe when I was 4-5 years old, but yea, I remember playing them. In fact, my nephew kinda remembers playing on my PlayStation 4 when he was around 3 and he’s around OP’s age now.
I was playing sega genesis when I was 3 and I remember all of it
I remember playing ps2 when I was 3 years old, Simpson’s road rage baybeeee
Is this the og PS3 or a modded Anyway what games are you looking forward to playing if you listen to me try the god of war franchise and the last of us and tomb raider
Thinking about last of us and little big planet and cod games also this model has the original firmware and is backwards compatible
It is not an OG backwards compatible model. This model will only play PS1 games, not PS2. Read the top lefthand side of the back of the box!
I'm not sure it is, and from the 80GB it would be a semi-backwards compatible one at best trim looks matte not shiny though so I doubt it. I had a CECHC03 which was pretty good, just wouldn't run PS2 versions of *OutRun* which is a big part of why I upgraded.
It’s not fully backwards compatible only the E01 80 gig models can play PS2 titles all PS3 systems can play PS1 games though
You can softmod it to play PS2 games. I won't elaborate any further as I don't know how this sub feels about that kind of talk
I know it's backward compatible I also have a PS3 mine is the super slim version and it is modded and that is the only console I have I've played all the games I could dream of right now I'm thinking of buying a pc tbh I want to buy a PS4 but I need a pc for video editing and stuff I'm not looking forward to the pc to play games or stuff I just need it to make videos As for your PS3 try to get your hands on god of war Ascension we could play multiplayer together
suggest good games tho
Wdym suggest good games i suggested the best games to him yes I forgot some like GTA 5 mortal Kombat far cry dark souls Batman Arkham City blur and prototype idk what you find funny like ben 10 Omniverse 2 but he said it is on ofw so that's why I only told him the games that would have him hooked for a while
You only mentioned 2 good games there bud.
You're 14 now and you remember playing SNES in 1993? Are you a Leap Year baby?
Bro is a time traveler most likely
He identify as a 14 year old child, but hes a 41 years old man
You should have seen me during the war of 1812.
1993 isn't a real year 😂
3 years old?
I'm confused 🙃, you played with the PS3 when you were like 3 years old? Wut?
4 bro
it doesn't make much difference
So you were playing ps3 as a 3 year old…
I remember playing Skyrim at that age
I was a little older than 3 when I started playing the PSX and vividly remember watching my dad set it up for the first time. My 3yr old son plays minecraft on my pld ps4 and is very competent. Some of us are just born gamers.
It's possible he was playing a bit, like holding the controller/actually playing a game for toddlers but nobody has these vivid, accurate memories from 3 years old because that's not a thing no matter how much reddit wants it to be. My first real video game was Pokémon Red for my 6th birthday.
You haven't used a console since you were 3 and remember the "OG" experience of unboxing it? Ok.
Pretty sure he’s saying the og experience of owning a os3
The OG experience of owning a PS3 when he was 3 years old? Got it.
Dog what didn’t you understand he didn’t buy a console from some random guy on Facebook he bought one in box all the cords like the OG EXPERIENCE. It felt like getting one new at a store that’s what he’s talking about
I was 4 bro
What game did you play then? What did you get it for? I barely remember getting my Super Nintendo at 6 lol
That’s awesome have fun
Im suprised GameStop actually had one of those laying around. That specific store probably got it in on trade. I was under the impression that if they got anything good retro like that, they send it off immediately to be sold online for high $$. Enjoy it and take care of it
a console like that with the original box
How the fuck did you get the OG box?
Jesus Christ so many people going at OP for remembering something as a 3 year old lmao. The first game I remember playing at 3 was MK3 and I remember just straight losing and being terrified of the animalities
So cool! I still remember the day I got all of my systems.
I love ps3. My favorite console of all time.
How much was it?
140$
You struck gold my friend
How is that striking gold???? This isn't the backwards compatible one, and you can easily find a slim which is more reliable, more power efficient, quieter for $60-80. The only thing worth extra value here is the box.
That model should be backwards compatible, too
It is
Not fully bro.
Getting one with the box is great. Save the box somewhere safe. But it in a plastic bag to protect it. The boxes are worth money also.
What's sad is that ps3 has almost as many native 1080p games as the ps5 lol
What? The ps5 has almost all it's games exclusively over 1080p lol, do you mean PS4? Which is also an incorrect statement.
Ps3 had a lot of games that ran at native 1080p internal resolution no upscaling. The majority of AAA games nowadays struggle to hit an internal 1080p resolution before relying on upscalers to reach a 4K image.
Again that's not true at all.
The 80GB version of the PS3 is a TANK!! In my experience, these last a lot longer than the 60GB version. This one isn't backwards compatible to PS2 (it says so on the back of the box in Picture 3), but it is still awesome! It will play PS3 and PS1 discs of course. Have fun!
Bro I’m 19 and I’d never touched a PS3 until the start of this year. Definitely the best purchase I’ve made recently
A gamer that started at 3 years old!? That's incredible, you must be a prodigy.
Damn I havent seen a fat PS3 in forever. Do be careful with use tho, from what I remember the fat PS3 has a bad problem with overheating.
happy for you lil bro 🏆
awesome, install a CFW, watch MrMario2011 youtube videos about it, you will be able to play ps1/2 games and also emulators for older stuff
Nice to see young cats like you go OG! Keep it going!
I need one too. I remember playing mw3 and little big planet all day😭
Blast from the past lmao
I played secretly gta4 when I was 5
Fair play lil’ man 😃
I truly hope you don’t have a Yellow light of Death
Enjoy my friend.
You got that goat og version! Have fun bro!!!!
Nice find.
I still play mo og PlayStation and I remember playing it since I was 3-4
Bro i was 2 when I played on a ps3 lmao
And i remember because I have found memories and photos
I got my first ps3 at a yard sale last week for $45 bucks I just gotta get a controller
There’s a console cabinet sticker on the box!
Reminds me when I was 15 and I found a ps2😢, enjoy it bud. 21 now.
Have fun with it before it inevitably cooks itself. Unless you feel like de-lidding it.
That is so cool man!! I remember getting mine from circuit city like it was yesterday. Enjoy!!
Take good care of it, maintain it, and it will be your irreplaceable friend for a very long time. So happy for u dude!
I mean to be fair I was 2 years old playing starfox 64 for the 64, my mom still has the video of me on vhs
I was 15 when the PS3 came out
I was a few days shy of 24 when it came out 😅
I’m only saying because he’s saying he’s 15 now
I know, I'm just saying I'm old 😆
Well, technically we’re both millennials.
What the fuck were you doing on a PS3 when you were 3 years old
wat are people on. born 2008, you'd be 4 or 5, not 3 lol. enjoy your memories
He could be born in early 2009 since he said he was 15 now. If you were born in early 2009 you would've just turned 15.
Every time I start up my PS3, I feel a little sad for what the XMB morphed into. The 4 and 5 got progressively worse bastardizations and the VITA got a pile of skittle icons.
I had the first Nintendo entertainment system with the big cartridges
We're kinda the same bro except i'm 25 yrs old. When i was 3 yrs old back in '02, i had a gcn which was my first console.
Make sure to get a can of air to blow out the roach carcasses. Should probably do it outside
Damn lucky
I’m 43 I remember playing the ps5 when it first came out what should I play first
I remember buying mines for 26 bucks at a pawn shop. Yes, the OG model. With Uncharted 1 - 3
GameStop still sells ps3s?
Funny I was 16 when this came out and it was the first console I bought with my own money and on launch day. It’s funny hearing someone’s nostalgia over this but I guess that’s what the SNES is for me lol.
Congrats my man. Thats a sweet machine.
80GB, cute
Damn i’m getting old
Edit: VII, I meant VIII. Fuucck' Romans and their Numerals!
I still vividly remember midnight launch of the PS3, very special memory.
When I was 3 I was playing Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo. I definitely don't remember what the boxes looked like,
I don’t think game stop stores carry in box ps3’s
same for me but instead of a PS3 it was an old matte white Xbox 360
I’ve had my ps3 as long as you’ve been alive 😅
Laystation 3
You poor soul...never buy from gamestop.
That’s rare as hell to find one CIB.
I'm looking for a fat ps3 with the 4 ports. They are completely backwards compatible. My old one broke. One of them main reasons I never got a ps4 or a ps5, they are not backwards compatible.
Wow where was this?
Nice hope you have fun
Wait what you were 3 years old? And still have memory of that? Bruh I wish I had a memory of something when I was 3
Lol all of you joking but my daughter has been playing my ps5 independently since she was 2. It's not a huge stretch that he was playing Little Big Planet or something at 3.
That's cringe mate, why waste money on this which is worse than a 25$ PC
Be lucky you found a PS3 Phat. I'd gladly trade you my PS3 Slim for it.
My oldest son is about the same age and he was playing Sonic Racing and Sonic Racing Transformed. Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Phineas and Ferb…
I remember playing grand theft auto london when I was like 5 and I'm 31, anything is possible I suppose
15 of 25? Lol Either way, enjoy! I would suggest opening up your console and cleaning and replacing the thermal paste to avoid any problems in the near future.
Time to play gran tourism 5 and gta4!
I don’t know why people lying about having vivid memories at 3. My earliest memory was around 5. It’s extremely rare to remember anything before 3. At most you’re probably telling people what you were told you did at 3 and don’t actually remember it. Parents told me I was helping them with their DOS computer when I was around 4ish but I def don’t remember it
Bro you lucky that is one of the rarest ps3 that has backwards compatibility which means you can play not just ps3 games but ps2 and ps1 games as well
Still have the 60gb bc one plugged in in the living room. Still works like day one.
This post is fake, somebody couldn’t be this full of shit
What do you mean🤔
This person own a PlayStation 3 at two or three years old, come on
It's a good time to get into this console. The games are still dirt cheap. They will go up in the next few years, so grab as many as you can.
Thanks bro
Reddit never fails to have people lying even if it's just barely 😂
Why do u think he’s lying
When did they stop teaching kids proper grammar in school? Use a period instead of "and".
There’s always one
ok boomer
The math ain't mathin here.... So you we playing a PS3 in 2012 when you were 1? He's a fed!
Little brother you are 15 you weren't alive to know what the og experience felt like 😂 Have fun with it !
