I keep receiving this very specific error when I try to message or make a party with anyone. I just got my ps4 and made my account. The error code ws-44396-6 appears constantly. I tried joining a party and message on my brothers account (also just made) and it works perfectly fine. On PS App it won't let my account message anyone, it says I dont have the permission even though I couldn't have been banned and I dont have parental controls active. Please help, I wanna talk with my friends on MY account.

The stick drift on the DualShock 4 doesn’t wanna go away. I have opened it up and cleaned everything but the stick drift is going to the right and it just gets worse everyday.
The other controller has a problem with the l1 button and the down button on the d pad. I need to press L1 very hard for it to work and that isn’t a problem with the r1 button. I opened it up and there isn’t anything damage but instill bought a replacement but it still doesn’t work. The d pad doesn’t register me pressing down, I also have bought a replacement for everything from the D pad but it still doesn’t wanna work.
I would appreciate it if somebody can help me right now, because I don’t have any controllers and no money for a new one.

Long time PC gamer, also got a PS4 now and looking for some great true exlcusives , that are not on anything else :) It’s funny, when I check lists of best exclusives, by now most of them are either already on PC or coming soon to PC (Horizon Zero Dawn, RDR2, God of War, FF7 remake, Days Gone, Detroit etc…). And the rest like Spider-Man and Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima I have already. But asking the experts now, what are some less known gems only on PS4 I should check out?

TL;DR...
My PS4 Pro (7200 model), beeps once and turns off. I followed every possible suggestion I could find online. I unfortunately made it to the last recommendation, replacing the power supply. I replaced it yesterday and it did not fix the issue.
I'm at a loss as I can't find anyone who has had this issue continue *after* replacing the power supply. My only guess is that I received a bad replacement. It was purchased new from a third party seller on Amazon.
At this point I will be taking it in for free diagnostics. But until I get a chance to do that, are there any suggestions?
Secondly, an unrelated question... I have a PS5 but I haven't transferred anything from my PS4 Pro to my PS5 yet. The physical game that is inside my PS4 is GTA V, my most played game. If I purchase GTA V from the PS Store on my PS5, I will still be able to access my GTA Online character, correct? I just want to make sure before dropping $30 on a game I already own.

That is a restriction set by the Publisher, not by parental controls. Only way to bypass that is to meet the minimum age requirements in the Publisher's End User License Agreement.
GTA V for example will not let anyone under 18 play Online no matter what parental controls are set.

If your console is completely stuck on that screen and resetting it doesn't take you back to the main menu you'll need to do as it says.

General pointers:
• Make sure that you are using the console reinstallation file and not the update file.
• Your USB stick needs a folder called PS4 and inside that folder a second one called UPDATE
• Inside the UPDATE folder is where you put the reinstallation file
• The reinstallation file must be called PS4UPDATE.PUP otherwise it won't be recognised by the console. So remove any (1)s if they appear as part of the file name as that just obscures it.
Your purchases and trophies are fine. Your saves are lost unless they were backed up via USB or PS+
Some online games are stored on game servers so won't be lost.
Safe mode is the PS4's BIOS. If its the only thing that can be accessed then that means your data has already been lost.
Your PS4 is basically a PC without Windows installed right now if only safe mode/the reinstallation message shows up.
When you put it that way, it makes sense but its quite unfortunate. Was hoping to not have to do that since its my sister's ps4 and she didn't want to lose her save data.

Hello, I am very new to reddit however I thought someone here might have a solution as I am running into dead ends googling and watching videos endlessly on youtube. About a year ago my family got a new router since then my internet connection was awful on my ps4. I average 20-40mb download and 3-5 mbs upload. My games will run average 30 ping but constant lag spikes over 200 every 10 seconds or so. I had been using my neighbors wifi for about a year now but recently they received a new router so I am no longer able to use theirs so Im no longer able to ignore the problem of my own connection. Ive tried changing different DNS severs, lowering MTU cap, port forwarding with my router, assigning static IP and reserving it, no progress. I am unable to use an ethernet cable or move the router any closer or vise versa. Any suggestions?

It keeps telling me that I have another system set as my primary when I don’t, I was game-sharing with another friend but I deactivated his account so that he’s no longer the primary account for my ps4. I’m confused, what else should I try?
There is no such thing as a Primary account, its Primary console. Multiple accounts can activate the same Playstation as their Primary device.
If your cannot activate a console as you already have one set as your Primary device then either log into that console and deactivate it or use the website deactivation tool.
As some of u cod fans know, unbeknownst to me, the update has made the game unplayable. It overheated my console, after booting the game up after I unplugged the ps4. causing me to restart. I booted it up a 3rd time and my game overheated and crashed. Won't turn on manually or with a plugged in controller WTF

I discovered my psn account is set as a minor account and so I was trying to change the age through the Sony mobile website as this was the main fix. However I can not sign in to the sony mobile website to change my age because the account is set as a minor. I imagine there has to be a workaround for this. Funny how the minor account makes it so you can't fix it being a minor account.
You need to sign into a PS4 to upgrade into a full Playstation account. When you are 18 an option within account settings appears that let's you upgrade.
I'm stuck... Thanksgiving morning my PS4 shut down, completely on its own and it hasn't been able to turn back on since... I can't really afford a power supply right now so could there be any possible thing that could be causing this? A screw outta place? A cable flipped backwards, any little thing that might be throwing it off? I used to have a PS4 Pro that I sold before PS5 came out thinking I’d be able to get a PS5 (how silly of me). I never experienced no issues using that PS4.
Recently I tried to get another PS4 Pro so I could at least play some of the new games that come out. I couldn’t find any PS4 pros in stores. And on Amazon new PS4 pros were going for 900! Even more expensive than PS5. So I got a secondhand PS4 pro ( again really stupid move ).
Ever since I started playing with it my games keep on crashing, freezing and whatnot. I could not go through one fifa match without the game freezing for at least 15 times.
As of right now I’m initializing the PS4 in the vain hope of seeing a change or something. I’m pretty pissed off at myself and the person I got the ps4 from. As far as I know all the applications were updated.
My question is: Is there any possibility of this being a hardware issue? Because it’s been happening to almost 60% of the games I’ve played on it. Plus it really heats up and sounds as loud as a tractor engine esp. when I’m playing some of the newer titles and games. My old PS4 pro didn’t make no noise :(

Is the disk version downloaded, or are you going off the case? Game file sizes change all the time with patches. But the digital and disc game (assuming they're both fully updated) will be the same size.

Every game disc I have has been handled by me very delicately but it is like if the plastic sheet of the cover always just gets uglier and uglier the more years they just sit there and it makes no sense.

I’m having a problem with the external hard drive on my PS4. It will recognize the hard drive, but if I try to download games onto it, after 15-20 minutes the downloads will stop, the controller will stop working even if I plug it into the PS4, and I have to unplug the console to get it to start up again. This is happening with two different hard drives, one of which is brand new. I initially thought it was some kind of overheating problem, but if I unplug the external HDD the PS4 will work with no issues. I have rebuilt the database but the problem still persists.
I took my ps4 apart (not the first time I've done it) and when i put it back together and turned it on i opened a game and my fan kicked on high and then the system shut of by itself. I didn't forget to connect anything or damage anything while it was apart i just cleaned the fan any ideas?
My mom bought a non Sony controller for niece and nephew. Made sure everything worked on it in-game. Concerns are that it wont hard/soft reset. Everytime the ps button is pressed it reconnects to my ps4. The reset button on the controller doesnt seem to do anything but turn it off. Ps/share button reset did nothing. Tried forgetting the device out of my bluetooth settings, still nothing. Do I have to use it till it dies to get it to stop reconnecting?

I only play PC games so I don't really know any good ps4 games for him. He also has ps plus so he can play online games. Anything that's easy to get into and is not free would be great.

The last time i played genshin my controler died, my charger was all the way up to the other floor of the house so i just decided to turn off the ps4. Next day after making some fanart i go open my ps4 and Genshin just vanished, i still had my galery and my achievements but the game was gone, im res-instaling it rn but idk if i can get all my progress back. Hello i got a big problem with my PS4 Pro, i tried to start the Final Fantasy 7 remake and my PS4 froze with the starting screen of the game. I tried to shut it down and boot back up but it still just shows the Final Fantasy Loading Screen Picture. I tried to boot into safe mode and there it froze too.
every few months, my ps4 starts to act funny. out of nowhere, it’ll start telling me my internet password is incorrect (when it isn’t) and won’t let me to connect to the wifi at all for the next few days. i’ve unplugged it, tried other wifi’s, restarted it, and so much more but nothing seems to fix it. anybody have any idea what’s happening? the error that pops up is NW-31297-2 if that helps.
My left stick isn't working correctly anymore. It used to work in all directions but now it will not work if I move it fully left. It will only move my character at half speed in the 9 position unless I click the stick at least halfway down.

Hello, I need some help. When I try to sign in to my account with all my data on it, it says 'Cannot sign in using another players sign in ID" I have tried creating a new user using an existing account but still the same thing.
You need to sign into the profile you were already using, not a new one.

Acount 1 can sign into profile 1 but not profile 2. Profile 1 cannot be signed into with acount 2.
If a third profile is made both acounts 1 and 2 cannot sign into it.

Hey guys so here's some quick explanation of events. Last night I decided I was going to stick on ghost of tsushima and in my haste knocked the controller a very short distance maybe 10 centimeters. I picked it back up and began playing to my horror I noticed the R1 was unresponsive to any stimuli so I went about solving the problem I thought it was either 1 or 2 things my rubber bumpers had become dirty or slightly dislodged or that the conductive film had somehow been damaged from the fall under inspection the film seemed fine and the rubber itself was in perfect condition and both I had cleaned thinking that would be the answer to my problems. So no I'm left without any other ideas as to what the problem is and am reaching out to you guys for help . Can you guys think of any other reasons ?
Does anyone make a volume adjuster that plugs into the DS4 or DS5 controller? I plug in my Bose wired headphones in and then I can’t fine tune volume how I’d like. With my Xbox I bought that ridiculous $40 turtle turtle beach volume adjuster that plugs into the controller but I don’t see an option like that for PlayStation
So I just upgraded my standard ps4 with a SSD. I did everything the right way, reinstalling the system via usb and did a Backup of my data from the HDD which I restored on the SSD. Everything works fine except my capture gallery. Everytime I open the capture gallery, instead of seeing the images and titles of the games, I see the standard gallery image and the text for each game says "deleted application".
On my sisters Account the gallery, which only contains 3 games because she does not play that much, everything works fine. But on my Account with like 40 games or so the gallery seems to be sort of overhelmed with the amount of captures it has to load (Although I just upgraded to the SSD). I tried rebuiding the database and clearing the cache but it did not fix my problem.
So now Im sitting here needing serious help because i cannot figure out what is wrong with my ps4 , even online I cant find anything similar.
Hi, I need belp. Specifically how I've formatted(reinitialized?) my ps4 and is on the start screen where it says to connect my ds4 via usb to it and press home part... The thing is I don't have a ds4 anymore. It broke and I've been using a hori wired mini gamepad for a year or so now and it won't register as pressing the home button with the hori controller. Is there a work around or is buying a ds4 the only option?
I had the same problem Yesterday. I upgraded my ps4 with a SSD, so I also had to reinitialize my ps4. I also was on the start screen and tried using my Nacon controller but it didnt work. Luckily, I still had my old ds4 and with that controller, it did work. Very strange.
Buying a ds4 at the moment isn't financially viable. So I'm asking if there's a fix but if a ds4 is what I actually need then I'll save up for one. Maybe even a second hand one.
I have built a simulator cockpit for my kids Christmas running a PS4,
G29 with pedals and shifter. I mounted a leather electric drivers seat
from an Audi A4 (powered by an 18v 1.5aH Drill Battery) to a custom
timber frame based on my kids heights/reach. Had some graphics printed
up on Tyvek and glued them to panels for the cabinet. I even recessed
some LED RGB strips along the sides/front/rear. I haven't mounted
shifter as its for my kids 4, 6, 8 y/o and my big problem is finding
racing games appropriate for them to play. Coming from PC background I
didn't realize some games wouldn't work with a wheel on console.
Crash Team Racing Nitro only to find it had no support. Looks like Hot
Wheels Unleashed wont work either. I have GT Sport, but it seems a
little complicated for the 4 year old. Can anyone recommend a more

Hi! My PS4 Slim's fan is making a weird.high pitched noise when spinning. I've isolated the noise to the fan, so it's not my HDD or PSU. Anyone know of a fix for this? The sound is really annoying and my head hurts because of it. I don't really have any spare part to buy where I am so a replacement fan is not an option, unless someone knows of a third party fan that I might be able to purchase.

If you're positive the password is correct, and you're using the correct email, then it's possible someone hacked your account. Even if that isn't the case, you should contact support to figure out what happened.
Tell them this. It's possible you were hacked and your account email has been changed. Fully explain your situation and what you need from them (and be prepared to prove it's your account to them).

3 is easiest in my opinion ds2 is my all time favorite and is probably medium difficulty and 1 is the hardest in my opinion I have little experience with bb (pissed me off) so it's probably pretty difficult 🤣

My friend sold me their PS4 after upgrading to the PS5 and I have a question about what to do with their PS4 user account.
When we would play while he owned it we used his PS4 account and he had GTAV and Gran Turismo installed.
Now that its mine I made a psn and a personal ps4 account and can play the games. His ps4 user account is still on the user list because we were concerned if we deleted his account, I would lose access to the games. We tried googling an answer but the sony website just states data will be lost, kinda unclear imo.
So my question under these circumstances is this; Can I delete their original ps4 user account and retain access to the games, or will they be lost?

He has a Joystick that he controls his chair with and he moves that via a rod that he has attached to a helmet he wears on his head. The joystick has Bluetooth capabilities and I was able to get the PS4 to recognise it last night but the joystick did not operate the PS4 just wondering if there's anyone out there that can help me with this as I'd love to get him set up his chair is called a Quantum im not sure which model. Any help on accessibility of how to get it working would be greatly appreciated cheers.

So I loaded up my ps4 tonight and a database corrupted please restart your ps4 message popped up. This had happened multiple times before but I hadn't acknowledged it yet, so I closed the message but as soon as I closed the message it reopened over and over again but finally I was able to restart my ps4, but then something even stranger happened. My ps4 reset itself to before I got my ssd. So I decided to check my games list and a bunch of old games that I Uninstalled were back on my installed page and the ps4 is running super slow. So I eventually check my minecraft world because that would be the simplest way to check if my save files were gone but everything was the exact same. Also a bunch of random game updates keep on happening

I've had my PS4 for a view years and we've had an ok setup for family/parental controls. With the HDD failing and having been replaced (it died, no chances of any data transfer), the child accounts appear in the family management menu for me, but there's no ability for them to login without me creating a new account?
I'd like to organise the kids accounts again, but there's no option to remove their old accounts from my family, and when I create new accounts I'm told "you've reached the limit on how many accounts can access network features".

I have an 2tb external drive that came default exFAT. I wanted to use as extended storage that my PS4 isn't recognizing. I even formated it to Ntfs and reformatted it back to exFAT through my PS4. It shows up under USB storage devices, but despite already being the correct format it insists that it still can't be used until I properly format it.
The other problem is it only lets me do this through 'options'. Anybody have any solutions? I've literally been searching trying to get this to work for hours.

So about 3 years ago I bought a PS4 Pro Star Wars Bundle. Honestly, it was cheaper than the pro by itself. Anyway, it comes with my first DS4 and I've noticed the battery dies very quickly. I'm wondering if this is normal. It is a "star wars" DS4 if that matters. I dont think i saw a drop in battery life over time because i remember this being weird/confusing/frustrating since i got the PS4. Its also the only DS4 i have ever used.
And I mean battery life between uses. I basically get 7 days of life until I need to charge it again whether I use it or not. Which is very frustrating because I don't play daily. Every time I go to play I have to remember to plug it in the day before or at least an hour before.
This is in contrast to my experience with DS3 controllers on PS3. Which lasted months between charges. Also my move controllers last a long time between charges too.
What I typically do when I'm done gaming is go to power options and shut down, then switch off my power strip overnight. I do this because my area has a lot of power outages and surges.

Monoprice cables have been my standard. They're available on amazon usually if you dont have a large enough order for Monoprice.com. Honestly the cable is not a huge deal if you dont go after the cheapest amazon china brand. Get 4k at 120hz and that should future-proof you for a while. There are standards like HDMI 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc so get the latest if you also want to future proof it. Those are for features like HDR and controlling electronics through the HDMI cable.
I'm having a strange problem with my ps4. Theres one game I have, clean disc and everything, that I keep trying to start, but it keeps blinking between the ps4 menu and the wavy blue background non stop. Every 9ther disc starts fine though, what can I do to fix this?

I had asked this same question as OP and I was told you can keep the games forever (even after cancelling subscription). Never tried it myself though so can't confirm.

Help with my controllers The stick drift on the DualShock 4 doesn’t wanna go away. I have opened it up and cleaned everything but the stick drift is going to the right and it just gets worse everyday. The other controller has a problem with the l1 button and the down button on the d pad. I need to press L1 very hard for it to work and that isn’t a problem with the r1 button. I opened it up and there isn’t anything damage but instill bought a replacement but it still doesn’t work. The d pad doesn’t register me pressing down, I also have bought a replacement for everything from the D pad but it still doesn’t wanna work. That is a restriction set by the Publisher, not by parental controls. Only way to bypass that is to meet the minimum age requirements in the Publisher's End User License Agreement. GTA V for example will not let anyone under 18 play Online no matter what parental controls are set.

If your console is completely stuck on that screen and resetting it doesn't take you back to the main menu you'll need to do as it says. Your purchases and trophies are fine. Your saves are lost unless they were backed up via USB or PS+ Some online games are stored on game servers so won't be lost.
So there's no alternate way to get out of the Safe Mode loop without losing any data saved to the hard drive and essentially factory resetting?
Safe mode is the PS4's BIOS. If its the only thing that can be accessed then that means your data has already been lost. Your PS4 is basically a PC without Windows installed right now if only safe mode/the reinstallation message shows up.
When you put it that way, it makes sense but its quite unfortunate. Was hoping to not have to do that since its my sister's ps4 and she didn't want to lose her save data. Thanks for the advice.

Hello, I am very new to reddit however I thought someone here might have a solution as I am running into dead ends googling and watching videos endlessly on youtube. About a year ago my family got a new router since then my internet connection was awful on my ps4. I average 20-40mb download and 3-5 mbs upload. My games will run average 30 ping but constant lag spikes over 200 every 10 seconds or so. I had been using my neighbors wifi for about a year now but recently they received a new router so I am no longer able to use theirs so Im no longer able to ignore the problem of my own connection. Ive tried changing different DNS severs, lowering MTU cap, port forwarding with my router, assigning static IP and reserving it, no progress. I am unable to use an ethernet cable or move the router any closer or vise versa. Any suggestions?

There is no such thing as a Primary account, its Primary console. Multiple accounts can activate the same Playstation as their Primary device. If your cannot activate a console as you already have one set as your Primary device then either log into that console and deactivate it or use the website deactivation tool.

I discovered my psn account is set as a minor account and so I was trying to change the age through the Sony mobile website as this was the main fix. However I can not sign in to the sony mobile website to change my age because the account is set as a minor. I imagine there has to be a workaround for this. Funny how the minor account makes it so you can't fix it being a minor account.
You need to sign into a PS4 to upgrade into a full Playstation account. When you are 18 an option within account settings appears that let's you upgrade.
I'm stuck... Thanksgiving morning my PS4 shut down, completely on its own and it hasn't been able to turn back on since... CE-36329-3 I used to have a PS4 Pro that I sold before PS5 came out thinking I’d be able to get a PS5 (how silly of me). I never experienced no issues using that PS4. Recently I tried to get another PS4 Pro so I could at least play some of the new games that come out. I couldn’t find any PS4 pros in stores. And on Amazon new PS4 pros were going for 900! Even more expensive than PS5. So I got a secondhand PS4 pro ( again really stupid move ). Ever since I started playing with it my games keep on crashing, freezing and whatnot. I could not go through one fifa match without the game freezing for at least 15 times. As of right now I’m initializing the PS4 in the vain hope of seeing a change or something. I’m pretty pissed off at myself and the person I got the ps4 from. As far as I know all the applications were updated. My question is: Is there any possibility of this being a hardware issue? Because it’s been happening to almost 60% of the games I’ve played on it. Plus it really heats up and sounds as loud as a tractor engine esp. when I’m playing some of the newer titles and games. Is the disk version downloaded, or are you going off the case? Game file sizes change all the time with patches. But the digital and disc game (assuming they're both fully updated) will be the same size.

Hi, what exactly does a Full Factory Reset do? I thought it erased all your personal information and data and reset everything back to what was just installed by the Factory. Hey hello. I think this is an odd question but do you have any tips for keeping the game cases pristine besides storing them somewhere? Every game disc I have has been handled by me very delicately but it is like if the plastic sheet of the cover always just gets uglier and uglier the more years they just sit there and it makes no sense. I have DVDs from 10 years ago that look better so I was wondering if anyone has a tip besides storing them away in a closed cabinet. Thanks for the attention.
I'd recommend a cool and dry place. I've kept mine in my closet for over 8 years and all my originally owned games still look pristine

I’m having a problem with the external hard drive on my PS4. It will recognize the hard drive, but if I try to download games onto it, after 15-20 minutes the downloads will stop, the controller will stop working even if I plug it into the PS4, and I have to unplug the console to get it to start up again. This is happening with two different hard drives, one of which is brand new. I initially thought it was some kind of overheating problem, but if I unplug the external HDD the PS4 will work with no issues. I have rebuilt the database but the problem still persists.
I took my ps4 apart (not the first time I've done it) and when i put it back together and turned it on i opened a game and my fan kicked on high and then the system shut of by itself. I didn't forget to connect anything or damage anything while it was apart i just cleaned the fan any ideas?
My mom bought a non Sony controller for niece and nephew. Made sure everything worked on it in-game. Concerns are that it wont hard/soft reset. Everytime the ps button is pressed it reconnects to my ps4. The reset button on the controller doesnt seem to do anything but turn it off. Ps/share button reset did nothing. Tried forgetting the device out of my bluetooth settings, still nothing. Do I have to use it till it dies to get it to stop reconnecting?
I'm looking for a last minute gift for my dad. He plays a lot of Fortnite, and other games too, but mainly Fortnite. He likes all of the God of War games, and he's been a gamer all of his life. I only play PC games so I don't really know any good ps4 games for him. He also has ps plus so he can play online games. Anything that's easy to get into and is not free would be great.

Save files tend to be really small. Id say 8gb is enough for an average gamer, 16 will be more than enough for an absolute unit of a backlog of saves

i’ve been troubles with updating my ps4 to 9.03 I went into my ps4 and checked if any wires were broken or not plugged in but they are completely fine, i’ve tried manually updating it with a usb but that doesn’t work, and updating it with internet always gives me the error code su-41128-6 can someone please help me or explain why this is happening

Hello i got a big problem with my PS4 Pro, i tried to start the Final Fantasy 7 remake and my PS4 froze with the starting screen of the game. I tried to shut it down and boot back up but it still just shows the Final Fantasy Loading Screen Picture. I tried to boot into safe mode and there it froze too.

every few months, my ps4 starts to act funny. out of nowhere, it’ll start telling me my internet password is incorrect (when it isn’t) and won’t let me to connect to the wifi at all for the next few days. i’ve unplugged it, tried other wifi’s, restarted it, and so much more but nothing seems to fix it. anybody have any idea what’s happening? the error that pops up is NW-31297-2 if that helps.

My left stick isn't working correctly anymore. It used to work in all directions but now it will not work if I move it fully left. It will only move my character at half speed in the 9 position unless I click the stick at least halfway down. I clean my controllers and console regularly, and I treat them with the utmost care. Is there a simple and easy fix? I kinda really cannot afford another controller at the time.

Its as simple as that. With your old HDD make sure you back up your game saves first if you haven't done so already.

Use a different cable. Not all cables can carry data so make sure you use a data cable and not a generic charging cable.

Hello, I need some help. When I try to sign in to my account with all my data on it, it says 'Cannot sign in using another players sign in ID" I have tried creating a new user using an existing account but still the same thing.
You need to sign into the profile you were already using, not a new one. 2 accounts 2 profiles Acount 1 can sign into profile 1 but not profile 2. Profile 1 cannot be signed into with acount 2. If a third profile is made both acounts 1 and 2 cannot sign into it.

been trying to connect my ps4 to the pc through remote play, but whenever i try to manually link it. It tells me that the networks must be the same. Hey guys so here's some quick explanation of events. Last night I decided I was going to stick on ghost of tsushima and in my haste knocked the controller a very short distance maybe 10 centimeters. I picked it back up and began playing to my horror I noticed the R1 was unresponsive to any stimuli so I went about solving the problem I thought it was either 1 or 2 things my rubber bumpers had become dirty or slightly dislodged or that the conductive film had somehow been damaged from the fall under inspection the film seemed fine and the rubber itself was in perfect condition and both I had cleaned thinking that would be the answer to my problems. So no I'm left without any other ideas as to what the problem is and am reaching out to you guys for help . Can you guys think of any other reasons ?

Did you download the DLC? Some DLC packs require them to be downloaded separately from the game.
Does anyone make a volume adjuster that plugs into the DS4 or DS5 controller? I plug in my Bose wired headphones in and then I can’t fine tune volume how I’d like. With my Xbox I bought that ridiculous $40 turtle turtle beach volume adjuster that plugs into the controller but I don’t see an option like that for PlayStation
So I just upgraded my standard ps4 with a SSD. I did everything the right way, reinstalling the system via usb and did a Backup of my data from the HDD which I restored on the SSD. Everything works fine except my capture gallery. Everytime I open the capture gallery, instead of seeing the images and titles of the games, I see the standard gallery image and the text for each game says "deleted application". On my sisters Account the gallery, which only contains 3 games because she does not play that much, everything works fine. But on my Account with like 40 games or so the gallery seems to be sort of overhelmed with the amount of captures it has to load (Although I just upgraded to the SSD). I tried rebuiding the database and clearing the cache but it did not fix my problem. So now Im sitting here needing serious help because i cannot figure out what is wrong with my ps4 , even online I cant find anything similar.
Hi, I need belp. Specifically how I've formatted(reinitialized?) my ps4 and is on the start screen where it says to connect my ds4 via usb to it and press home part... The thing is I don't have a ds4 anymore. It broke and I've been using a hori wired mini gamepad for a year or so now and it won't register as pressing the home button with the hori controller. Is there a work around or is buying a ds4 the only option?
I had the same problem Yesterday. I upgraded my ps4 with a SSD, so I also had to reinitialize my ps4. I also was on the start screen and tried using my Nacon controller but it didnt work. Luckily, I still had my old ds4 and with that controller, it did work. Very strange.
Buying a ds4 at the moment isn't financially viable. So I'm asking if there's a fix but if a ds4 is what I actually need then I'll save up for one. Maybe even a second hand one.
I have built a simulator cockpit for my kids Christmas running a PS4, G29 with pedals and shifter. I mounted a leather electric drivers seat from an Audi A4 (powered by an 18v 1.5aH Drill Battery) to a custom timber frame based on my kids heights/reach. Had some graphics printed up on Tyvek and glued them to panels for the cabinet. I even recessed some LED RGB strips along the sides/front/rear. I haven't mounted shifter as its for my kids 4, 6, 8 y/o and my big problem is finding racing games appropriate for them to play. Coming from PC background I didn't realize some games wouldn't work with a wheel on console. Crash Team Racing Nitro only to find it had no support. Looks like Hot Wheels Unleashed wont work either. I have GT Sport, but it seems a little complicated for the 4 year old. Can anyone recommend a more forgiving title that will work on my setup. Thank you

Hi! My PS4 Slim's fan is making a weird.high pitched noise when spinning. I've isolated the noise to the fan, so it's not my HDD or PSU. Anyone know of a fix for this? The sound is really annoying and my head hurts because of it. I don't really have any spare part to buy where I am so a replacement fan is not an option, unless someone knows of a third party fan that I might be able to purchase. My psn randomly sogned out today and the password is not working, can someone help me i tried resetting the password but the email letting me has not come yet. Im not sure what happened.
If you're positive the password is correct, and you're using the correct email, then it's possible someone hacked your account. Even if that isn't the case, you should contact support to figure out what happened.

Tell them this. It's possible you were hacked and your account email has been changed. Fully explain your situation and what you need from them (and be prepared to prove it's your account to them).

My friend sold me their PS4 after upgrading to the PS5 and I have a question about what to do with their PS4 user account. When we would play while he owned it we used his PS4 account and he had GTAV and Gran Turismo installed. Now that its mine I made a psn and a personal ps4 account and can play the games. His ps4 user account is still on the user list because we were concerned if we deleted his account, I would lose access to the games. We tried googling an answer but the sony website just states data will be lost, kinda unclear imo. So my question under these circumstances is this; Can I delete their original ps4 user account and retain access to the games, or will they be lost?
They will be lost. Game ownership depends on the account staying there and the PS4 being his Primary PS4.

Hey would really love some help please. I have a friend of mine who is in a wheelchair and has no mobility of his arms or legs. He really wants to find away that he can play PlayStation . He has a Joystick that he controls his chair with and he moves that via a rod that he has attached to a helmet he wears on his head. The joystick has Bluetooth capabilities and I was able to get the PS4 to recognise it last night but the joystick did not operate the PS4 just wondering if there's anyone out there that can help me with this as I'd love to get him set up his chair is called a Quantum im not sure which model. So I loaded up my ps4 tonight and a database corrupted please restart your ps4 message popped up. This had happened multiple times before but I hadn't acknowledged it yet, so I closed the message but as soon as I closed the message it reopened over and over again but finally I was able to restart my ps4, but then something even stranger happened. My ps4 reset itself to before I got my ssd. So I decided to check my games list and a bunch of old games that I Uninstalled were back on my installed page and the ps4 is running super slow. So I eventually check my minecraft world because that would be the simplest way to check if my save files were gone but everything was the exact same. Also a bunch of random game updates keep on happening This is really confusing to me and I just want to know what happened and if it has to do with my ssd

I've had my PS4 for a view years and we've had an ok setup for family/parental controls. With the HDD failing and having been replaced (it died, no chances of any data transfer), the child accounts appear in the family management menu for me, but there's no ability for them to login without me creating a new account? I'd like to organise the kids accounts again, but there's no option to remove their old accounts from my family, and when I create new accounts I'm told "you've reached the limit on how many accounts can access network features". Anyone encountered this before and have any advice? TIA!
I have an 2tb external drive that came default exFAT. I wanted to use as extended storage that my PS4 isn't recognizing. I even formated it to Ntfs and reformatted it back to exFAT through my PS4. It shows up under USB storage devices, but despite already being the correct format it insists that it still can't be used until I properly format it. The other problem is it only lets me do this through 'options'. Anybody have any solutions? I've literally been searching trying to get this to work for hours.

My DS4 battery dies very quickly and always has. Am I doing something wrong? So about 3 years ago I bought a PS4 Pro Star Wars Bundle. Honestly, it was cheaper than the pro by itself. Anyway, it comes with my first DS4 and I've noticed the battery dies very quickly. I'm wondering if this is normal. It is a "star wars" DS4 if that matters. I dont think i saw a drop in battery life over time because i remember this being weird/confusing/frustrating since i got the PS4. Its also the only DS4 i have ever used. And I mean battery life between uses. I basically get 7 days of life until I need to charge it again whether I use it or not. Which is very frustrating because I don't play daily. Every time I go to play I have to remember to plug it in the day before or at least an hour before. This is in contrast to my experience with DS3 controllers on PS3. Which lasted months between charges. Also my move controllers last a long time between charges too. What I typically do when I'm done gaming is go to power options and shut down, then switch off my power strip overnight. I do this because my area has a lot of power outages and surges. Why my DS4 battery dies quickly but not the move controllers? Is there anything I can do or change? Is there an "off" switch i'm not seeing? Thanks

Contact your police department first. If you don't already, enable 2FA on your account. It's possible Sony could help (it should be reported to them) but I wouldn't hold your breath on using them to get it back.

I need a suggestion on an hdmi cable. There are so many options leading me to a rabbit hole of products. I have a base ps4 and a 1080 graphic TV. My plan was to get a 4k hdmi cable so when I upgrade ps4 and tvs I'll have the cable in hand. What I'm looking for in an hdmi cable is at least 20 feet long, fiber cable, gold plated, 4k for future use, and durable. Thank you for your time!
Monoprice cables have been my standard. They're available on amazon usually if you dont have a large enough order for Monoprice.com. Honestly the cable is not a huge deal if you dont go after the cheapest amazon china brand. Get 4k at 120hz and that should future-proof you for a while. There are standards like HDMI 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc so get the latest if you also want to future proof it. Those are for features like HDR and controlling electronics through the HDMI cable.

You keep your collection of PS+ games for as long as you subscribe. If you cancel your subscription you lose those games until you resubscribe again.
I had asked this same question as OP and I was told you can keep the games forever (even after cancelling subscription). Never tried it myself though so can't confirm.
PS+ games are only accessible while you are subscribed to PS+. They are forever tied to your account yes, but PS+ games can only be played while you are subscribed to PS+
