No, but I will give this a shot. I typically try to avoid using key frames because it can be hard to keep track of what they are controlling. That said, this issue has been troublesome for me so I will go this route.
I have this issue. My use of sound gadgets is limited, but I generally plop them down in space for environmental ambience, and when I preview my scenes it’s a roll of the dice if they will all work or not. Usually the first time I will have to restart, and even then a handful of gadgets won’t work unless I restart again.
Sometimes it’s all fine, zero issues.
My audio thermo is at single digits, with no warnings about hidden thermo issues, so… it’s another DREAMS heads-scratcher to me.
Sure, If you’re willing — I’d certainly be happy for reliable audio. We can either do a SharePlay with me touring my Sci-Fi Complex and mentioning the drops I’ve noticed, and/or I can grab an inDreams link and you can see what you can see (hear what you can’t hear).
It seems like such a trivial thing for you to spend any time dealing with, but that’d be swell for me! 🙂
I don't get these issues, but I've seen cases where people have. It's usually a problem of not understanding what the sound gadget is actually doing. Not a bug or unreliable; working by design but not understood by the creator using it.
You need to start debugging it, to figure out what's going on. Run time and watch the gadget/tweak menu/timeline to see what it's doing. That will clue you in to what the cause of it might be.
Ive seen this too and I believe it's when there's too many stuff or sounds, it's random but I've fixed it by deleting the sound that isn't playing and replacing it with the same sound, but no guarantee it won't happen again
Have you tried using keyframes that turn the sounds on instead? I've found that to be a lot more reliable when timelines are involved.

You can label any keyframes of importance to help keep it more organized!
Could be that some of the sounds have 3d audio activated by default and others don't. So if you aren't close enough you won't hear the sound.
