If you've been a Plus subscriber for awhile, it was given away in [June 2021](https://blog.playstation.com/2021/06/30/playstation-plus-games-for-july-call-of-duty-black-ops-4-wwe-2k-battlegrounds-a-plague-tale-innocence/). So, you might have it already.
Patient gamers win again. Thanks to PS+ Premium, I have way more games than a man ever should to play. And this is coming from a guy who played almost all of the big PS4 hits from last gen before the sub was even announced. Backlog is my personal devil/angel haha.
Game is so good! I played it in September and just started a NG+ last week. Would be annoyed that I could have got it "for free" but honestly glad for the studio to get some of my money when they're doing stuff this good.
Same here. I really wanted to get it but I held off forever for different reasons each time. I feel bad not funding the studio because I was really impressed with the first one, but I can't pretend I'm not happy to get it "for free."
At first I was waiting for the 60fps patch, which arrived later, then I was just kinda waiting for me to want to play before buying it. I haven't bought it yet, so I'm happy for this.
I was so close to buying it, but figured it’d end up on PS Plus at some point and I already have a massive backlog of games waiting for me. Plus, I have a deep fear of those little furry mammals that are very prominent in this game. 🫣
So I’m not that person you’re referring to.
I can’t believe how shit the reviews/complaints I’m seeing online are because I’m absolutely loving this game. Sure the characters are a bit shallow, but the gameplay is stupidly fun and flexible.
Also - I’d love to see more Sophia-like characters as protagonists in games. She’s so damn charming.
It's an action game with simple RPG elements, and a cheesy but enjoyable story. You are a cowboy fighting vampires. Combination of melee with ranged attacks + gadgets. So you run around punching vampires in the face mostly. It's awesome.
It's very streamlined gameplay wise- it's 90% action, 5% exploration 5% RPG (choosing skills). Unlimited ammo, no inventory management, linear levels with occassional puzzles.
Has pretty good cinematics as well.
Very fun game. I bought it around Black Friday and don’t regret paying for it, even if it’s out on PS Plus now. Really tight old school gameplay and some beautiful locales.

**Warframe: Syrinx Collection – exclusive PlayStation Plus Pack**
In addition to the Monthly Games lineup, January 2 will also see the release of the Warframe Syrinx Collection
I wont spoil anything, but fuck, A Plague Tale: Requiem is a wonderfully depressing game. It also has a lot of really beautiful and amazing moments though.
For people who don't know the games, just think The Last of Us, but in the 14th century. But they are in no way a cheap knockoff of those games.
You are in for an amazing experience. I still need to play it again to get those last couple of trophies. I'm just not sure if i'm ready yet lol.
I was waiting for less than $30 but this is great! Really excited now. If you haven’t played Plague Tale and Nobody Saves The World try them out. I don’t have the perspective of someone who paid for them but I played them on Game Pass and I think they’re both fantastic
Sad but fitting ending that’ll make new runs unbearable because you know how it’ll end and you don’t want it to happen.
Honestly one of the best games I’ve played in recent years. It’s like a medieval The Last of Us
Don't let the sunny locations in the promo material fool you. The game is unrelenting misery porn throughout, although the rushed ending in particular **is** also another major bone of contention for many.
The developers are very open about taking a lot of inspiration from The Last of Us Part II (almost to the point of ripping off rather than homaging, to be honest), but they decided to make their own game even more depressing and bleak.
There's very little in the way of any actual humour or uplifting moments, with main characters who make nothing but poor decisions the entire way, and who probably have the highest unavoidable body count of innocent people in any game in recent memory.
If you came away from the Last of Us games thinking Joel had made the worst possible mistake by killing one particular person, or that Ellie and/or Abby were "unreasonable", well, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
PT:R is the kind of game you'll definitely play through to the end to see where it's all going, especially if you've played Innocence, but you'll be unlikely to want to play it a second time, especially once you're aware that it is an endless, awkwardly-paced stream of frustrating character choices that come to a distinctly unsatisfying conclusion.
It’s a linear narrative story that’s pretty long and after a while your limited ways to eliminate (or avoid) enemies will start to get a bit repetitive. You’ll definitely want to play to the end to see what happens with the characters. Ps: you’ll also need to play the first game in the series too.
It's a direct continuation of the first game's story. The main characters are the same, but their on a new mission and there are new villans.
Definitely play the first if you can. I'd say it's a better game overall. Requiem is good, but lost some of its charm from the first game.
I would honestly read or watch a playthrough of the first game imo. The first game has some BS gameplay - especially late in the game. If you do play the first one first, know that Requiem improves the mechanics.
Finally gonna jump into the series after I finish forbidden West since part 1 was also a free game. This could very well be the first time I think I wanna play all 3 monthly games
You should, and if you have had a PS5 for awhile and PS Plus (July 2021), Innocence was free at one time so check your library you might already have it. If not, it's on sale for $12 right now.
You know how many times I've looked at evil West, and how close I've been to purchasing it. Happy man right now.
And isn't it co-op?
If so, even happier
Woww actually great month ! Nice Plague tale requiem was awesome game .
I had feeling Evil West was gonna be on plus was waiting for that one . Nobody saves world ? Gotta check some vids for that one
Wow, this has got to be the best month in awhile.
I've had A Plague Tale and Nobody on my wishlist for quite some time, and heard Evil West was good as well.
Guess this kind of makes up for December's lackluster lineup.
Guys, If you want god of War old western style, play Evil West, it is the most adrenaline filled fun i have ever had in a game, and you are constantly getting new shit and power ups, the whole game is Literaly just combat and boss fights
Can't wait to dive into these games! Evil West has been on my list for ages, and I've heard such great things about Plague Tale Requiem. Home run, PlayStation Plus!
When Requiem came out it was my GOTY. One of my favorite games I've played in the last decade. The story is absolutely amazing. So emotional and heart-wrenching. Especially after being so attached to the characters because of the first game.
Everybody needs to give Requiem a shot. It won't let you down.
It's nice to see so many companies that put their games on a subscription service make them eventually come to other subscriptions too. The more developers realize these can pay off for them, the more games that we can see come to these services in the future. Plague Tale and Nobody were both great games I wouldn't have tried without subscriptions, and now people on PlayStation get to experience them too
This month is a big win for me. Plague Tale Innocence was incredible so I've wanted to play Requiem for a while. NSTW has also been on my watch list for some time.
Well I already bought Plague Tale on a sale awhile back, but Evil West is one I've been on th verge of pulling the trigger on a few times, so I'm happy to get that one. I don't know much about Nobody Saves the World, but I seem to recall hearing some good things about it. So I'd say this is a strong month overall!
I just bought Nobody Saves the World from Limited Run Games via Amazon and it's still in the mail. Those idiots at LRG couldn't even tell me if the DLC was on disc. Either way, I played it on Gamepass at the beginning of last year and it was one of the best of 2022.
Had Evil West in my wishlist for a while now. Just felt like one of those games that'd end up on PS+ eventually, and it never felt quite cheap enough to actually buy it, so I'm happy with this month's games.
This is awesome. Requiem and Evil West are both games that I’ve been wanting to play but not quite enough to buy. This is exactly what I want out of PS Plus. Does anyone know if Plague Tale ever got a 60fps patch?
Wow! I just rented Evil West from GameFly but they never sent me the first copy and they're sending me another copy of it again and now it's free on PlayStation Plus so I would have to send back two of the copies if I received them in the mail ever. So much time wasted. Literally paid GameFly for a month to send the game back and forth.
Awh yeah. Ive avoided buying plague tale for ages. Delighted it paid off. Thanks to the person who only just bought it
I just bought it on black Friday. Please Play this game
Would it be necessary to play the first as well?
If you've been a Plus subscriber for awhile, it was given away in [June 2021](https://blog.playstation.com/2021/06/30/playstation-plus-games-for-july-call-of-duty-black-ops-4-wwe-2k-battlegrounds-a-plague-tale-innocence/). So, you might have it already.
That's how I have it. Still haven't played it tho.
It still holds up. A very unique game with a great story. You def want to play the first one first.
It more than holds up bruh it’s one of the best looking games
Same
[удалено]
Ohh. Then i def do, just never played it lol. Good to know
Same.
I would say so. It is a direct sequel, and much of the emotional weight of the sequel comes from the 10 hours you spent in the first game
I will say the story hits 10 times harder if you have played the first one. It is also a really good game and not that long to complete.
If you follow the storyline then yes. Both the games are very good
100% yes.
You’re welcome. You’re very f***ing welcome 🥲
We made our sacrifice for the greater good
The greater good.
SHUT IT.
Crusty jugglers
GREAT BIG BUSHY BEARD
So you're saying that you avoided it... like the plague.
Got both Plague Tales for "free" Makes the months of mediocrity in-between not so bad
Patient gamers win again. Thanks to PS+ Premium, I have way more games than a man ever should to play. And this is coming from a guy who played almost all of the big PS4 hits from last gen before the sub was even announced. Backlog is my personal devil/angel haha.

Same here. I really wanted to get it but I held off forever for different reasons each time. I feel bad not funding the studio because I was really impressed with the first one, but I can't pretend I'm not happy to get it "for free."
This isn’t a loss for the studio, probably a big win, honestly.
The studio gets funded by these deals and each download 🤷♂️
Don't worry MS funds them. Just play the game(s) cause it's one of the greats. I call it Past of Us. :)
At first I was waiting for the 60fps patch, which arrived later, then I was just kinda waiting for me to want to play before buying it. I haven't bought it yet, so I'm happy for this.
Whole lineup looks awesome for me! All games I’ve wanted to play but haven’t bought.
I was so close to buying it, but figured it’d end up on PS Plus at some point and I already have a massive backlog of games waiting for me. Plus, I have a deep fear of those little furry mammals that are very prominent in this game. 🫣 So I’m not that person you’re referring to.
I’ve had the first one sitting in my library forever from PS+ and now that I’ll have the second one from PS+ I think now’s the time to hop in!
isnt this the second game in the series?
Yeah, the 1st went free a couple or years ago
Ohh bet. I actually do have it lol. Didn't realize. Guess I'll give the game a shot and see how I like it in time for this one.
Funny since I only played the first one because it was free on PS+ back then, now I get to play the sequel the same way.
You're welcome. I finished it last week. Great game.
I have a rule to not buy anything that's day one on GamePass. It always pays off.
Same here. I was just gonna play that after finishing Kena this week. Being a patient gamer pays off sometimes lol
Looking forward to this one, the final boss in the first game is what stayed my hand from buying it sooner, what an abortion
Been wanting to try Evil West for awhile. Don’t sleep on Nobody Saves the World. Super fun game
Evil West was very fun, worth the $25 I spent on it and definitely worth it as a free game
What "type" of game is it? From purely the description with no other information I'd guess ARPG like Diablo or something???
It’s the best Xbox 360 game you’ll play on PlayStation.
This is a glowing review btw, I had a blast with it
Well alrighty then.
Third-person action like God of War 2018. Really fun mix of melee and ranged combat.
Imagine an action adventure game from the late 2000's or early 2010's. That's it, that's Evil West.
Really selling it hard there. lol
They're not wrong. It's fun but it's basically God of War 2018 if it had been made in 2005
It's an action game with simple RPG elements, and a cheesy but enjoyable story.
I want you to summarize all games for me
If GOW and RDR2 didn't fight in 2018 and instead made a baby.
Evil West is great, coop is fun as hell too!
is it singleplayer with a story and so on, or is it MP or what is it?
I wanted to buy it a few months ago but couldn't justify the $100 they wanted for it. Massive win
I just confused weird west with evil west.
It’s a lot of fun. I Bought it day one and I didn’t regret it one bit.
Very fun game. I bought it around Black Friday and don’t regret paying for it, even if it’s out on PS Plus now. Really tight old school gameplay and some beautiful locales.
Thank god I did’t buy Evil West.
I’ve been tempted every time its on sale but figured it would be on PS+ or GamePass eventually. My laziness paid off.
Also from this blog post: **Warframe: Syrinx Collection – exclusive PlayStation Plus Pack** In addition to the Monthly Games lineup, January 2 will also see the release of the Warframe Syrinx Collection
Was kinda hoping they’d do this for Destiny instead of Warframe but happy for Warframe users if this is good or sorry for them if it’s bad
Massive W with Plague Tale Played the first game when it was also a PS Plus monthly game back in I think 2021 Waiting has paid off
Seems like Evil West is good too, and Nobody saves the world is definitely worth it. Amazing month, it's been a while since we had one like this IMO
I wont spoil anything, but fuck, A Plague Tale: Requiem is a wonderfully depressing game. It also has a lot of really beautiful and amazing moments though. I still need to play it again to get those last couple of trophies. I'm just not sure if i'm ready yet lol.
I'm imagining Ellie saying Joel the way Hugo says AMICIA 💀
There's a first game? Do we need to play it to understand this game?
Yes to both
Evil West! Hell yeah! I was waiting for a price drop, instead it went to ps plus, nice!
I was waiting for less than $30 but this is great! Really excited now. If you haven’t played Plague Tale and Nobody Saves The World try them out. I don’t have the perspective of someone who paid for them but I played them on Game Pass and I think they’re both fantastic
Was just debating picking evil west up yesterday. Great month for the first time in a long time.
Surprisingly good. 4 or 5 different stories you play thru.
Nah, you're thinking of Weird West. That got added to Extra this month. Evil West is like a third-person shooter.
Huh. Had no idea there was another West game. Sorry about that.
Plague Tale Requiem is an amazing game that you’ll never want to play again. Please play it, I can highly recommend it
Perfect description! I played on gamepass and it was very satisfying to play and also to delete.
Why is that? Bad ending or just one of the dark stories you don’t want to revisit?
The latter
It's relentlessly grim, disgusting and depressing. 10/10 though.
Lots of really beautiful and amazing moments spread between all the dread though. A wonderfully depressing game I would say
Sad but fitting ending that’ll make new runs unbearable because you know how it’ll end and you don’t want it to happen. Honestly one of the best games I’ve played in recent years. It’s like a medieval The Last of Us

Is it necessary to have played the first one to enjoy it?

Thanks!
Yes 100% you need to
It's a direct continuation of the first game's story. The main characters are the same, but their on a new mission and there are new villans. Definitely play the first if you can. I'd say it's a better game overall. Requiem is good, but lost some of its charm from the first game.

The cart sequence. Fuck me.
Finally gonna jump into the series after I finish forbidden West since part 1 was also a free game. This could very well be the first time I think I wanna play all 3 monthly games
Do I need to play the first one?
You should
Yes, it doesn't make sense to play second without first. It's a story heavy game.
You should, and if you have had a PS5 for awhile and PS Plus (July 2021), Innocence was free at one time so check your library you might already have it. If not, it's on sale for $12 right now.
Been wanting Evil West, so ill call that a win. Beat Plague Tale already and its great. Looks unbelievable.
I should probably play the first Plague Tale
It’s good and not too long.
You know how many times I've looked at evil West, and how close I've been to purchasing it. Happy man right now. And isn't it co-op? If so, even happier
Yep, co-op campaign
Is it local co-op by chance?
Unfortunately only online co-op. [https://www.co-optimus.com/game/8182/pc/evil-west.html](https://www.co-optimus.com/game/8182/pc/evil-west.html)
For fuck's sake. When are devs gonna realize that people still want local co-op :(
i came here to comment the same :/
Nobody Saves the World has local coop ;)
Darn! Oh well
I'm down with Requiem. Was gonna buy it but I thought nah its gonna come to plus. And I was right for once
LFG I waited off on Plague Tale and Evil West for this very reason we eating good to start 2024
Nobody Saves the World is really cute and a good couch co-op romp, I recommend it for any fans of dungeon crawling
Woww actually great month ! Nice Plague tale requiem was awesome game . I had feeling Evil West was gonna be on plus was waiting for that one . Nobody saves world ? Gotta check some vids for that one
I’ve been playing nobody saves the world on my steam deck and it’s quite a fun action RPG game.
Great month. Might actually check them all out for once
Wow, this has got to be the best month in awhile. I've had A Plague Tale and Nobody on my wishlist for quite some time, and heard Evil West was good as well. Guess this kind of makes up for December's lackluster lineup.
And Nobody saves the world is great, definitely give it a try too
Big big W Huge W
All three games are bangers
They are perfect as games I think I would like but probably wouldn’t have paid for, so perfect for the service
The first one was a ps.plus game right?
A Plague Tale: Innocence was a PS Plus game. It's the prequel to Requiem. So essentially you may have gotten both games in your subscription.
I did get both free! Will have to give them a whirl.
This is a HUGE W. The amount of times I've had both Plague Tale and Evil West in my cart. I'm pumped about this.
Fuck yes plague tale!
Yesssss!!! A great month!
Guys, If you want god of War old western style, play Evil West, it is the most adrenaline filled fun i have ever had in a game, and you are constantly getting new shit and power ups, the whole game is Literaly just combat and boss fights
Great month!
Damn that’s a great month
Wow, all 3 games look interesting. It's rare that I want to try all 3 monthly games but Jan is looking strong.
I'm in for all the games. An exceptional month.
Great month holy cow
Excellent month with 3 great games. Been interested in Evil West since I saw the initial trailer - always reminded me of Dark Watch.
Actually excited for this month
I was waiting to play both plague tales. The first one is one sale and now this one is free. Nice
Damn that’s a huuuge W. Been interested for Evil West and Plague Tale for more than a year
Oh man I've wanted to play all 3 of these, what a good month
I knew me waiting on Evil West would pay off
Yes!! I’ve almost bought all 3 of these games
Finally Sony woke up and put some nice titles. Hopefully they continue on that trend.
Oh, okay. Those are pretty fucking solid actually. I already bought Plague Tale Requiem at launch. Oh well.
Can't wait to dive into these games! Evil West has been on my list for ages, and I've heard such great things about Plague Tale Requiem. Home run, PlayStation Plus!
HOT DAMN
Bought Requiem and Evil West last Christmas and haven’t gotten around to play them yet 😂 at least I have them on disc then 😂
I just bought evil west not long ago…
Pretty happy with this lineup tbh
Holy W of a month! I've wanted to try all of these, and I've come close to buying NSTW a few times, now.
I’ve been waiting for evil west, hyped for this.
Banger of a Month if I say so myself.
Evil West was fun! It takes me back to a simpler time. Its not gonna blow your mind but its a fun rainy day distraction
Looks like a great month!
When Requiem came out it was my GOTY. One of my favorite games I've played in the last decade. The story is absolutely amazing. So emotional and heart-wrenching. Especially after being so attached to the characters because of the first game. Everybody needs to give Requiem a shot. It won't let you down.
That’s awesome, two games I actually want to play but haven’t got yet! Great month.
nice, wanted to try both evil west and the plague tale game
Fuck yes, been debating wanting to buy evil west for so many times now!!! So so sooo happy
Fuck yea! Really wanted to play Evil West
Stoked for evil west!!
That is a hell of a lineup
One of the better PS+ months in recent memory. These are are solid titles.
Is it worth buying the first Plague Tale game?
yay evil west, been w8 for this game
Amazing month! But get ready for the next ones... xD I've got a feeling they won't be nowhere close to this one.
It's nice to see so many companies that put their games on a subscription service make them eventually come to other subscriptions too. The more developers realize these can pay off for them, the more games that we can see come to these services in the future. Plague Tale and Nobody were both great games I wouldn't have tried without subscriptions, and now people on PlayStation get to experience them too
Nice! Evil West has been on my wishlist since it released.
Starting off the year with a very solid month, hell yeah!
Two games I was waiting for on the service. Finally a good month again
Plague Tale is a nice one to have. I played the first one just last year and I'd only been waiting to play the sequel for a decent sale
I am so Happy!! I got a Plague Tales Innocence last week for Christmas and I have Requiem to look forward to next week!
3 Ws, banger month!!
This month is a big win for me. Plague Tale Innocence was incredible so I've wanted to play Requiem for a while. NSTW has also been on my watch list for some time.
Get in!! Ive been planning on picking up plague tale since it's release
Great start to a new year!
I guess I need to play the first plague tale game. For me and my interests, this is a solid month as I am interested in all 3 games.
damn i didn’t play this cos i’ve got a phobia of rodents. now i have to. maybe it’ll cure me. or kill me..
I just bought Nobody Saves the World from Limited Run Games via Amazon and it's still in the mail. Those idiots at LRG couldn't even tell me if the DLC was on disc. Either way, I played it on Gamepass at the beginning of last year and it was one of the best of 2022.
Great game. I love plagues tale. The ending is very nicely done.
Holy shit I was planning to buy it soon! Really wanna try NSTW too
Not sure if I've ever seen a PSPlus lineup this good. Certainly not in recent memory. All 3 of these were games I planned on buying at some point.
WELL then…. At least one thing to make me mildly debate resubbin
Pretty decent lineup.
Sweet I've been eyeballing Requiem for a while. The 1st game was fun.
Plague Tale is stupidly good, I love both of those games but imo 2 is even better than 1. Had my crying like a baby by the end.
Lo and behold, the second rat game is free!!
Great month!
Plague Tale is a crazy giveaway, that’s a stellar game
Holy shit, what a great selection. Great month.
Balls. Had requiem sitting on the shelve since last Xmas lol
Incredible month
Might be the best PS+ month ever - hot damn
Is Requiem still 30 fps only?
No, they did a patch a few months ago that added 60fps.
Wasn't evil west a free game earlier this year?
You're thinking of Weird West.
