I always knew from having an Xbox that the PlayStation community was a bunch of assholes, but I thought it would change once I got a PlayStation. even every single friend I have asked this question to can’t answer without being a snotty prick. I'm not bothering using the stand. Mine is standing straight up and its no easier to knock over than my xbox. dumbasses here thinking that using the stand will keep you under a valid warranty...... "my cat knocked it over but I SWEAR i had it on the stand!!!"😑
I’m wondering the same. With the stand the console is just a bit too tall to fit properly in my media center. It’s pretty damn stable vertically without the stand. Does anyone know if not using the stand vertically impedes air flow/cooling?

Thanks man! I was tryna see if having it vertical without the stand is bad for airflow since it is more stable off the stand for me then with it on where it's placed at on my entertainment stand due to my giant c2 lol
Yea, I just don't like peoples inability to answer the original question properly and your comparisons with a plane were not very useful. Planes need wheels to land otherwise people die. Ps5 does not need a stand to operate but in some situations, the stand would be preferable.

Ok, you're the one insinuating a ps5 needs a stand by comparing it with a plane that needs wheels. Not me. Yes, a seaplane does not need wheels. But there is no sea ps5. But now I come to think of it if a ps5 was on a liquid that had a high enough viscosity then I think even floating horizontal it would still need no stand as the stand would sink beneath the surface of the liquid anyway.

I stood mine up for about half a year only just now realised that is has air flow holes in the bottom so hopefully mine stops crashing now

Yep I did it without the stand and it still powered off but I hoovered my ps5 out and it does not power off anymore

Good question. No, because to sink means to be submerged or go below the surface of a liquid. It would only be the stand submerged in this case.
I’m not sure the ps5 is waterproof, you might be better buying a shark.
