Got me in the first half lol it's always more fun sharing that experience with family and friends, and even more satisfying when they're enjoying it more than you! Welcome to the family š
And the whole time weāve been using the thumb stick to place ourselves somewhere on the mini course floor. Canāt wait to tell my daughter when she plays.
Dude, you're gonna love it.Ā Aaaaand you can clip through the map to spot the hidden golf balls on the earlier released maps.Ā Ā
You will feel like a wizard.Ā You fly in the direction your club is pointing.Ā Ā
Now you can have your face down on the green, without bending over.Ā Ā
So you can use your free 12 month Netflix to watch something on the side while they enjoy the VR headset.
Consider getting a cheap Q2 to do multiplayer together. Synth Riders, Walk About Minigolf.. I might be traveling for work soon so I may pickup a Quest because I will not travel with the PSVR2.
Iām pretty sure itās important that you were fully signed-in to your PSN account when making the purchase to secure the Netflix thing.
Hopefully thatās what you did, and itās just a matter of the 72 hour thing. I only mentioned it because someone else on Reddit wasnāt signed in and had to cancel and re-purchase. Thatās the length and breadth of my knowledge. š
Congrats and sorry itās being bogarted! š
Iād highly recommend you get lens protectors from one of the many companies that make them. The lenses are easily ruined by anyone wearing spectacles or cleaning them with anything other than a dry microfiber cloth.
Also consider getting the Globular Cluster aftermarket Comfort Kit. It transforms the wearability of the device and makes it easier to find and keep the sweet-spot.
Looks like I missed the mark. I was signed into my psn account and updated my subscription to premium. Then I believe I hit a hyperlink to purchase the PSVR2 which took me to the PS Direct site. I thought the log in continued, but ended up buying it as a Guest. PS wonāt honor the Netflix even though the names and email of my order match my account information. Something is wrong, but the rules were to purchase with your account. Kind of sucks cause I could have just bought it at Best Buy or wherever else and skipped the shipping time. The Netflix is what tipped me over the edge to buy it.
It might be worth calling again since those reps can vary in temperament. Might end up just telling you that same thing, but who knows.
Iām no lawyer, but I wouldnāt be shocked if in a few months I hear about a class-action lawsuit regarding this. The route to securing the deal seems awfully circuitous, and theyāve got the info to verify who you are.
Itās a bad look for SONY to not honor the good faith effort by yourself and others to take advantage of this promotion. Thereās already enough frictionā¦ enough barriers-to-entry with regards to VRā¦ and we donāt need yet another one in the (avoidable) form of crappy customer service. š«¤
Best wishes!
#š»
I am in total agreement with everything youāve said. I tried to find a phone number or direct email, but they make it difficult to reach anyone above the tech reps. I donāt have any other social media platforms to inquire about it, so I feel out of luck. Cheers!
If you get another headset, bite the bullet and just get a Quest 3. The pancake lenses are on a whole other level... and it will also future proof ya for when they stop developing for the Q2, which is soon.
The quest 3 has a larger sweet spot for the lenses. But the psvr2 has better colors. Once the PC drivers for PSVR2 come out I donāt think Iāll be using my quest anymore. The only real advantage it has is Airlink. Also, I donāt have a problem finding the sweet spot every time but I have a pretty big head.
Synth Rider and Walkabout Mini Golf have among the best crossplay implementations between PSVR2 and Quest.
Puzzling Places is another Iāll suggest based on the other two games.
Great gateway games to get someone new into VR
Yes it is, many headsets can use it. And the multilayer community is great. Playing with your family will be really good if you buy a quest 2, worth it as there are good deals now.
Be careful, after buying the PSVR2 I have bought a Quest 2, 2x Quest Pros, and 4x Quest 3s to get my family playing WMG together. Then you get into Sim racing and youāve got multiple chairs, wheels and computers. Youāve been warned.
Need 2 ps5s a few people have done that because of the situation your in. But best to wait and see if the novelty wears off for the others if they weren't heavy gamers to start with fair chance it will wear off and you'll have plenty time for you eventually.
Though in this case I would advise buying a quest 2 as a complement, far cheaper than a second PS5+PSVR2 and for multiplayer there are good cross play games working on both. Walkabout alone is worth it in my opinion.
Can you expand on sharing games and not buying twice? I thought PS didnāt allow you to play with the same account on two devices at the same time.
Plus youād be using network, so I assumed two PS5ās would need at a minimum two PS Essential for online co-op play.
You need to make one of the PS5s your primary PS5 and then anyone can log in and play your games and have access to PS+ under their PSN on this PS5. On the other one you would need to log in and you would have access to all of the same. I am sure you can find a better explanation of this but that is the basics.
Basically you can share all digital games to a second device. So you can buy BeatSaber once and family members could play it on 2 consoles at same time.
you'd better be away of Gran Turismo 7, otherwise you may buying a whole racing setup "for them" š
I think it's supercool enjoying VR games with family. Welcome to the PSVR2 team š
I play a lot of GT7 and it's a surreal experience to the point of not playing other great games like Call of Mountain and the ones in VR Premium.
I do tihink that Dual Sense controller is brilliant and good enough so far to avoid buying a wheel.
I had a wheel before The VR mode arrived. GT7 is really good. It's my most played PSVR2 game.
there's a lot other good games, I try to play most of them, but I always find time to race on GT7
I have the wheel, pedals, and shifter and 2 mountsā¦..well one now.
If you want to buy a new carā¦.and it is on thereā¦. I would suggest you drive it on there, BEFORE you buy it. You WILL KNOW if that car, or truck is what you want when you get in there.
I am old school and played the original GT to no end with a wired controller. So many fun days removing my memory card and racing at other friends house for pink slips. I am hesitating at buying a wheel as I have so much fun with the controller, but everyone says itās so much better. I may have to bite the bullet.
My dad played Call of the Mountain until he got the bow. Was fun to see him react to the stuff there, and see him jump up when the boat capsized. Kinda scared to guy GT 7, lol.
In our limited experience, as long as someone isnāt prone to car sickness on twisty roads, GT7 is an amazing experience.
Whatever you do, donāt let him play Pavlov with zombies. Game had my heart rate racing full tilt.
Thatās too funny. I debated getting a second PS5 and PSVR2 for gf so we could play at the same time. Held back hoping for a PS5 Pro. I feel the pain when she is playing I want to beā¦..But for now I will be patient as she only plays a bit.
Look at this way, your wife cant complain about the purchase since she is enjoying too. Think about how much fun a second setup would bring! Co-op!!!
Question. I have an PSN account with a few profiles on my account. How are you able to play coop online with two users on separate consoles? I thought you canāt do that on a single account?
As long as their IPD is wide enough for the minimum headset setting, no issues with eyes. Vergence/accommodation coupling is complete when they're still very young...toddlers or younger. VR won't affect that
There could be temporary comfort issues. Adults or kids can equally get eyestrain from VAC in VR
The real issues are about eye/body coordination. When you're young, you should be developing that in the real world, not VR
Source for that? Because it's been debunked multiple times that any lasting damage is done and no studies support your claim about vision.
I'm all for seeing less kids in VR multiplayer, but let's not spread misinformation. The minimum recommended she for Meta VR is actually 10 now when managed by a parent as well.
As I said it.
In the psvr2 manual.
Probably you'd read it.
Also on screen it displays it a lot too, like during calibration.
There's nothing to "debunk". The DP literally hasn't got a setting for young children, which can cause extended motion sickness to them, cause visual issues to their still developing eyes etc.
Beat Saber is the big on for my family. My wife is not a gamer but gets so competitive with this one and we always put it on party mode. She will make sure she has the high score for the songs!
Buy another ps5 or cheap ps4, connect it to another screen either somewhere in the house or even right next to them to help them with anything and enjoy being a hip father!
I put about 80 hours into mine in the first two months after I bought it.
I haven't touched it since February and my son plays it ALL the time.
I'm happy because it gets good use.
I picked one up as well during the sale. I did hear about the new PC adapter coming in August so it can be hooked up to a PC so you will be able to play SteamVR games. I bought it for my kids and I've been the one hooked on it. GT7 looks gorgeous in VR. Call of the Mountain is insanely immersive. I bought and played No Man's Sky for several hours yesterday which is the most time I've spent playing that game. I own it on PC but I just couldn't get into it until now. The kids are hooked on Beat Saber.
I am seriously considering upgrading my graphics card for it. My CPU can probably just about cope; it's a little older than the minimum spec i5 but is an i7 but my graphics card doesn't have DP 1.4. I've had a lot of fun with NMS on the PSVR1 & PS4, it's a shame there's no cross progression and saves even on PS only go one-way but can't really complain.
I have one myself and can understand why they use it so much. I always looked at occulus vids and such andnnow finally psvr2 my first vr headset As I dont count the cheap mobile vr stuff which also made my head ugh. I can even use my glasses while wearing psvr2 without any issue. So awessome!
Ye Psvr 2 is better than I expected. I cant wait to play re8 in vr for some reasons but I was so scared playing it on xbox and now gnna vr on ps is just ye. Hopefully I dont get a heartatk at youngage from playing vr horror gameš¤£
Get a PSVR1!
Seriously, the library is remarkable, the specs are surprisingly near-identical, & the price is untouchable outright, but the games and experiences on it are vast and shareable (& tons of them are free, too).
Honestly I got one myself and tbh I can't tell Much of a difference from quest 2. Besides the controller features, eye tracking and head vibration. I thought it should look better than it does. Idk.
I envy this, my partner got instant nausia when i had her try but tbf maybe the load screen from NMS was not the best introduction for it. She does like to watch me play pistol whip to a disturbing extend..
Ill have her try kayak vr i hope at some point, dont currently own it yet tho.
I kept it old school and had her play Tetris Effect. She was all smiles. I played it flat screen when it first came out and heard how good it was on VR. Just wished I bought the PSVR2 two years ago.
Yeah me too, I used it 46 min, and I hated it,
1.too hot in the headset (I'm walking a round with a towel and microfiber cleaning cloth)
2. I have to always play with the lenses so I can see
3. Games won't let me play if my room isn't big enough
4.always connected to the ps5
I should have gotten the quest but there is no refund once the package has been opened
Youāre lyingā¦.because almost living in a closetā¦.and I have played boxing (5days ago) and many others.
You are not making any kind of senseā¦IF you hadā¦.you wouldnāt have said this
Why would I lie, I tried to play legendary tales and the game wouldn't let me get past the main menu screen and when I launch the game it says that the play area is below the recommended
*
If hot, blow a fan on you? Being hot can be an initial sign of motion sickness
Play with lenses? How? You should rarely need to clean them or do anything with them
Some games ask for more space than you need. That said, if you're sure you have the physical room for your body, you can lie to the psvr about your floorspace, so it allows you to play.
Just edit the boundaries and push them farther out, into furniture, whatever, until your playspace is large enough.
Almost all games are okay with Standing, I'm not sure there are any that require Roomscale (the biggest area)

I watch my son way more than I get to play. I'm always trying to get I into coop games with Psvr and Quest. Have fun.
Yo, that mini golf game is solid af , aannnddd they're gonna add a Wallace and Grommet pack soon, which is wild, but anticipated, lol
Mini golf is amazing.Ā Ā I love flying aroundĀ

Seen them go for real cheap, think of them as disposable VR š š¤£
Yup, my girlfriend and I go on golfing trips all the time
Wait, there's a 12 month Netflix sub when you buy PSVR2? Is this a global thing or specific offer that a vendor had?
It was during PlayStationās latest Days of Play sale.
Go here to redeem Netflix https://direct.playstation.com/en-gb/netflix-promotion
I have two now so I can play with my family lol
I will do it if PS5 Pro is worth getting.
How does that work out? Two systems or can you hook up two VR headsets to a single PS5?

LCD sucks for VR. So no. Ex owner of Quest 2 and Quest pro here. Useless fukin things.
Is this true even for the Quest 3? Does it really suck that much compared to the PSVR2?
I prefer the amazing haptics of VR2 and you can family share game so you donāt have to buy twice.

Same here, was mostly for GT7 for my son and i but now its most co op games in VR... crossfire is amazing in single player co op.
Iām playing through Arizona Sunshine 2 with my son. We love it. Would you recommend crossfire for our next game?
Sell the kids, divorce wife.

Time for another PS5/PSVR2 and start playing together.
Maybe. With limited space and furniture, I am literally trying to figure out where to put a second one.

Maaaaan. Where do you think my few hours came from? I have other obligations that keeps me from staying up late.
Yeah, thats true, I forgot what year it was, when I had a full 8 hours night sleep..
lol not a mistake at all. Buy another to play with themā¦ duh.
I have mine in my office
Just make sure vr isn't recommended to children under age 12 as it can mess up their still developing eyes,Ā read the manual for futher info.

Again. Very false.
Walking dead is free and itās really fun in VR. Iād recommend specifically cause itās free.
Will do.
Beat Saber is the big on for my family. My wife is not a gamer but gets so competitive with this one and we always put it on party mode. She will make sure she has the high score for the songs!
You should try Synth Riders!

It is addicting
You should also try Tetris. Super zen after a long day.
Literally one of the first games I played on flat screen when I got the PS5. I think it was free on PS Plus way back when.
Oh yes it's great without VR, but it's excellent using the VR2. That, GT7, and No Man's sky are the ones I cycle through the most often.
Such an exciting device! Now Iām gonna have to play some before lunch!
I put about 80 hours into mine in the first two months after I bought it. I haven't touched it since February and my son plays it ALL the time. I'm happy because it gets good use.
