Profar is batting .455 in close-and-late situations (second on the team to Jackson Merrill) and .360 with runners in scoring position (second on the team to Luis Campusano). His .444 average with runners on base is 126 points higher than the next Padres batter. His seven go-ahead RBIs are tied with Jake Cronenworth for most on the team, and his four game-winning RBIs lead the Padres.
At 31 years old, Profar’s numbers are better than they have ever been this far into any of the nine MLB seasons in which he had at least 130 plate appearances.
It is one of the best stories currently unfolding in the major leagues — the former No.1 prospect playing up to the purported potential of long ago

Profar was the number 1 overall prospect in 2013 over the likes of Wil Myers, Zack Wheeler, Gerrit Cole, Jose Fernandez , Christian yelich, Francisco Lindor, Trevor Bauer, Javy Baez, Xander Bogaerts, Carlos Correa, and many other well known names.
Seriously, [this list is a pretty wild time capsule](https://www.mlb.com/news/2013-top-100-mlb-prospects-list-c301609842)
Money is on tatis for sure but I think Xander will figure it out. Merrill has hit his rookie wall that everyone predicted I also believe he will get past it. I don’t necessarily think Merrill will return to his previous red hot form this season but I think he will be good. Xander I have to believe will get better because if he’s not the team is lowkey fucked for a good long time.
Profar deserves all the attention he is receiving. This guy is more than numbers, he’s your favorite co-worker you’ve ever had. This guy is gonna make the day better.

Literally the best MLB month of baseball in his career and it ain't even close. None of us saw that coming.
Will be interesting to see if he can keep the good production going. He's been a career bat that would get hot then cool way off for 1-2 months or more. Maybe he'll break that cycle. We need it.
Even if we get 2022 production out of both Chrone and Profar in the long run I’ll be happy. Just need Tatis and X to get back to what they usually produce and Merrill and Campy to do what we think they are capable of.
Probably won't keep this up, but weirder things have happened. I'm moving past thinking that he's just purely on a heater. Some players have figured things out around age 30 and later. If he cools down to 80% of what he's doing now that's still excellent and very valuable to this team.
Would be awesome if he can keep this up. We can also bet that w him leading off, pitchers are going to adjust as well which is normal. Upside, he's going to see better pitches with Tatis / Jake behind him.
Will be fun watching how this plays out for him.
Profar doing well is certainly good. Everyone else doing worse than Profar is not a good sign but I expect positive regression from our big 3 so I'm not worried
Profar and Will Smith at the ASG would be wild. Pro has been around since the Little League WS and definitely enjoys playing baseball more than anyone I've ever seen, I hope he stays in SD.
What's VAR? DevineSportsGospel says Profar is leading the league in VAR without actually saying the stat.
Edit: nvm just found out it's vibes above replacement

Padres legend Jedd Gyorko at #50
The Gyork store ran out of him!
Crazy that 3 from that list have died already. So sad.
Damn actually 4. Missed Ventura also.
Oscar Taveras, Jose Fernandez, and Tyler Skaggs all in the top 10. All would be in their early-30’s right now. Crazy.
We need one more name on that list . . . Yall guess who.

One of Merrill, Xander, Tatis, has to heat up. I refuse to believe all 3 will stay cold

He’s still making decent contact I think he’ll definitely figure it out soon.
I am not trying to poop on anyone’s parade, but I would like to remind everyone that we said the exact same thing last season. KTF though.
we had a great last month, it was just a little too late
Also showed some fight in the reds series.
Profar deserves all the attention he is receiving. This guy is more than numbers, he’s your favorite co-worker you’ve ever had. This guy is gonna make the day better.
I don't want to see anyone bad mouthing him if he gets in a slump. He has earned his badge.

Mr Irrelevant
Son of Jurick absolutely poppin' off. Ya love to see it.
Next home run call? ‘Son of a Jurick, that ball is gone!’
Mr. Vibes Mr. Irrelevant Mr/ NL Comeback Player of the Year (yeah I called it)
And he is a super good dude too.....
I don’t know why he’s hitting so well, he’s kind of irrelevant
Profar bound for all star
As we all predicted.
Profar doing well is certainly good. Everyone else doing worse than Profar is not a good sign but I expect positive regression from our big 3 so I'm not worried
most of the league is doing worse than Profar, that's how good he's been.
I’m all for a career year from Profar. I think he can do it
I'm just going to pretend like him and Xander swapped contacts
Profar and Will Smith at the ASG would be wild. Pro has been around since the Little League WS and definitely enjoys playing baseball more than anyone I've ever seen, I hope he stays in SD.
unfortunately they'd be on the same team if that happens
Profar so hot right now
My man!
He started huffing that glue
those numbers are great but what is his VAR?
