The reason for that is that the drivers have no idea how long the order was placed. I've picked up orders that just came through and I've picked up others that were sitting awhile. The delivery apps also require us to show up as soon as we get the order. Still, drivers should understand that.
Yeah I’m aware of how it works. Orders get sent to both store and Dasher at the same time at least from Papa Johns. Other stores have it set differently. But if the Dasher would pay attention to the pickup by times it gives them a more realistic time depending on the time of day. (I did DoorDash for 6 years in 2 states)
I'm still pretty new to delivering for these app companies so I haven't picked up an order from you guys yet. But if it says to pick up at a particular time then yes that's on the driver.
Most app workers are decent people who want to make money and are extremely respectful. But I just wish the ones who go out of their way to be rude and disrespectful understood that most places don’t purposely take longer on orders, that we can absolutely ban them from our store. That ban goes to any store in our franchise.
used to work at a blackjack and i never understood why online would take orders 20 minutes before i even got there to open the store. used to get calls and people waiting at the front while i arrived
And of course they'd (almost) all be XLs. We don't even keep those racked in my store so even if it was the middle of rush hour we'd have to slap all the dough out
My store has a person who's done this 3 times when I opened, not sure if it happened other days. Jennifer. Fucking Jennifer. Always thru UE. Always before 11am. And to top it off we're a lower volume store anyway but XL sales are wildly unpredictable. Like won't sell any for 4+ days then suddenly go thru 3 trays in 1 day. So I don't keep many trays on hand generally; 4 tops. Then here comes fucking Jennifer, probably ordering the day before truck comes, I've got 7 XLs on hand.
I don't like Jennifer. 😑
Pain
without love
Can't get enough
Fr I work at a papa John’s that’s js pain like one Monday morning we got a 24 pizza order through DoorDash that they paid 450 for
The best part is the driver will be coming through the door in 10min pissed the food isn’t ready.
He came,at 5 minutes lol

God I don't miss that.
I'm curious.. How many pizzas is this order? Don't mind me I'm just here to peep game and troll a little 🍕🍕
🤣🤣🤣 I start most days off with 15 to 20 large pizzas due for delivery at 11. It's always nice to start the day off with $300 to $400 in sales.
