Single target damage in a spell attack roll, bad spell.
There's only one class that wants to use spell attack rolls, Magus and they just don't care about range
Literally no more damage than AoE spells with basic saves, and they get to target multiple enemies and be more reliable.
A simple damage spell. Single target, good scaling, physical damage. Nothing fancy, but sometimes you just need to punch a guy hard and he’s too far to do that normally.
One of my favorite signature spells on a spontaneous caster, because being able to deliver a giant wodge of nonlethal damage on demand is hugely useful.
