I prefer Air Walk to Fly for one simple reason: It doesn't take any action to stand still mid-air. You need to take the [Fly](https://2e.aonprd.com/Actions.aspx?ID=94) action to hover if you're airborn because of a fly speed. Edit: Two reasons, now that I think about it: upgraded Animal Companions (namely mounts) can't use their freebie stride/strike each round to fly, but they can stride mid-air with Air Walk.

Better than fly since you can hover at no action cost.

In addition to what was said, this spell at the same level as Fly is better because you don't need to hover. But the heighten of Fly has a superior duration.

Honestly in a lot situations this spell is better than Fly in 2e. You're not actually using a fly speed so you never need to spend any extra actions flying or hovering every round to stay above the ground, and not being able to go straight up is usually fine because flying straight up costs double movement anyways. This also lets you use any normal ground speed bonuses you may have in the air without having to worry about if they would work for flying or not. It's a great spell, every divine or primal caster should keep it in mind. I would definitely agree with calling it A Tier.

A classic mobility spell, well worth the slot.
