To be fair, thats probably the smartest thing ive ever heard a bills fan say

doctor-rumack

I was confused by the brilliance of the reply. I started wondering if I forgot about an injury Drew suffered while playing for Buffalo, and then I sat and wondered why a Bills fans would want Drew healthy. Then it hit me like Mo Lewis.

birthday6

It was a fantastic response

Royal-Al

He even went to go play for the Bills.

BigDaddyQP

“Watch me smash this table….”

RyanJKaz

Bills Mafia are really a fanbase of idiots, especially when you see all the dumb shit they do that makes the majority of other teams’ fans, including the most fanatical & rowdy ones in PatsNation look like calm, cool, and collective bunch of respectful & intelligent individuals ever!

UrineHere

Never get hurt … invincible Mike Vick would be fun

sleepyj910

My answer is Tom Brady. We deserve that 08 ring.

DrDirtPhD

Might have even gotten the '07 one

ThatMassholeInBawstn

Yeah with that ankle injury he hide

BradyToMoss1281

Maybe they take it. I’m not sure. They fell a long way between 16-0 in 07 and “I can’t get these guys to play the way I need to” in 09. They certainly make the playoffs with Brady and maybe they go all the way, but there were some cracks forming.

CaptainSnazzypants

They were 11-5 with Matt Cassel, Brady certainly would have gotten 3-4 more wins. Brady would feel like he had something to prove in after losing the perfect season. If Brady is healthy and playing in ‘08 I’m extremely confident they’d get to the Super Bowl again and likely win.

BradyToMoss1281

The 5 games they lost were Miami, San Diego, Pittsburgh, the Jets and Indy. I think Tom definitely wins the Indy game. I'll give you the Jets game too, though Cassel played well and wasn't close to why they lost. Miami, San Diego and Pittsburgh are tougher sells. Maybe Pittsburgh since Brady owned them from day one. But that was the best Steelers team we've seen yet (post Roethlisberger being drafted, I mean). The Dolphins and Chargers, the way those games went, Brady wouldn't have made a ton of difference. They weren't ready to go. So that's 13-3, maybe 14-2. They're likely the 1 seed, they probably have a great shot at making it back. I just think people assume the 2008 team was primed to play like the 2007 team, and I don't think that's the case.

5am281

Or Gronk and we get 2011 and maybe 2012

RyanJKaz

If Gronk doesn’t get his foot/ ankle fucked up by Patriot killer Bernard Pollard (went very low on TB12’s knee/ leg, causing that awful injury in the form of the torn ACL season-ending catastrophe in Week 1 of the 2008 regular season, then in week 17 of 2009 w/ Wes Welker’s torn ACL, even though the turf influenced that in addition to Pollard being right there, losing Wes in the regular season finale which made it easy to be proud1 & done that year against the ravens), we win the Super Bowl easily going away, and if Gronk stays healthy in 2012/2013 like he did in 2014, they’d likely get by the Ravens/ Broncos in those 2 tough back-to-back AFC Championship losses, and shit would be different, perhaps even more Trophies & rings for the mantle @ 1 Patriots Place in Foxboro, Massachusetts!

[deleted]

Biggest tragedy was not getting a full ride of Brady and Moss

DirtPaste

Gronk for sure, dude would’ve ended his career with untouchable stats

Jeanheins

It’s crazy how his stats still match up to Kelces and dude missed like 3 seasons.

DirtPaste

Fr, and most of the time he played he still had lingering injuries

froginbog

And he’s younger and already retired twice

Soxwin91

Probably would have left New England much sooner though. Iron man Gronk would fetch a titanic sized contract.

theghostofmrmxyzptlk

It's about winning and he paired with Bradey were a terrible combination. They'd have run out of appendages for rings.

Jr05s

Or draft picks

phatmattd

Think about how many we could trade down for!!!

andrewb610

Larry Bird.

celticsfan34

Len Bias

IrvinStabbedMe

Does a drug OD count as an injury?

andrewb610

I’ll allow it.

hxgmmgxh

Reggie Lewis

tomthegoatbrady12

OMG!! If only he never touches drugs!

Matikinz

Bobby Orr

andrewb610

So injury includes bad agent now too?

DirtPaste

Gronk for sure, dude would’ve ended his career with untouchable stats

RyanJKaz

Very true but despite all of the injuries, he still made the Top 100 team of all-time & is 100% a first ballot Pro Football Hall-Of-Famer! When I think about his career, getting cut short and having the stats to make the Hall of Fame, it reminds me about another player who did make the Hall of Fame, but had his career cut short just like that: Terrell Davis!

GiveItToTJ

That response made me chuckle for sure. Good answer from a Bills fan.

N7_Evers

That Bills answer is actually clever as hell.

TronPyscho

Can you explain?

Kardinale

Brady got his first start after a Bledsoe injury and kept the job

tgucci21

Brady was like 34-3 against the bills at the end of career.

EntertainmentLess381

Bo Jackson

goffer06

This is the only answer.

soupyc44

Maybe marcus dupree

WildOscar66

For me it's actually Fred Lynn, but Bo's career cut short too soon.

igtimran

Great answer. I think if you’re starting an all-time team, you’d be hard pressed to argue with taking Bo as your number 1 RB. You could go Payton, Brown, Sayers, or Sanders, but Bo was almost unquestionably the best overall athlete out of all of them. Amazing player and the world was robbed due to his injuries.

tomthegoatbrady12

Only if he plays football full time.

Trees_Are_Freinds

Brady 😈

notShreadZoo

This is a hilariously self aware response lmao

doodle02

Probably not a popular answer on here but…Malcolm Mitchell. That kid was awesome and without him the Pats don’t win the 2016 super bowl.

VictimOfCircuspants

I think about this one a lot. If Malcolm Mitchell's knees stay in tact and he continues on his rookie year trajectory, the Patriots likely never bring in Josh Gordon or Antonio Brown, never draft N'Keal Harry, and never trade for Mo Sanu. He could have saved us from a lot of stress.

doodle02

he was a good player and a great kid. i mean damn, that was his rookie season and he came up big in the most important moments. he improved so much over the course of the season too. clearly he’d earned brady bill’s trust by the end of the season. it is absolutely wild to think about what could’ve been had he stayed healthy and had a normal career. who knows, brady might even still be playing for the pats!

ThatMassholeInBawstn

Red Sox: Either Normar Garciaparra or Dustin Pedroia Celtics: Reggie Lewis Bruins: Bobby Orr Patriots: Gronk Honorable mention: Bo Jackson Edit: I chose Bo Jackson because I wanted him to have a successful NFL and MLB. Yes he never played for Boston but still

SuperNES_Chalmerss

I think people forget how fucking incredible Nomar was. His stats were just bonkers in terms of production

Lioninjawarloc

Fuck Manny Machado

RaspberryDistinct553

Honorable mention to the guy no one thinks of Boston when thinking about Bo Jackson. Could not honor someone who deserves it?

ThatMassholeInBawstn

No it’s just I wish Bo never got injured

denis0500

It might not have mattered, Brady probably would have taken over anyway, but I can see why a bills fan would think that way and it’s an interesting take on the question

LordMichaelkage

And even if Brady didn’t take over, Bledsoe was still one of the top QBs in the league. Patriots wouldn’t have been the same dynasty, but I think they would still win at least one.

MeesterCHRIS

Ngl. He’s a genius, he changes the entire NFL with that one.

igtimran

Healthy Tom throughout his career probably winds up with 9 rings. The ankle in 07, obviously the knee in 08, and finger/hand/knee/shoulder injuries in 11, 12, 15, and 17 held him back—we’ll just never know exactly how much.

Heir233

Gronk.

obcork

They'd still be losers

RaspberryDistinct553

Tell em why your mad son

Ovaltine-_Jenkins

I wanna see what crazy shit a fully healthy bill Walton would do

Phinster1965

A lot of great answers here. I’m going to add Ken Griffey Jr. and Tony Conilgliaro.

Spooder_guy_web

Id probably say rg3 tbh

evanm960

I love luck. But injuries aside how many players have just said fuck it, I don't want to be an example of playing past my prime and just called it. Luck was a consistent qb that deserves respect. Left before he was forced to leave. Nothing but respect.

EmeraldLounge

Roosevelt colvin would be an interesting one. He likely bridges the LBs from mcginest to Mayo. Adalius Thomas maybe never comes here and that drama never plays out.

vtmonster23

Bo Jackson

No_Exercise2629

Any 25-40 yr old drunk at his home town bar who claims “i woulda gone pro if i didnt mess my knee up” once a week. Thats whos career id restart. Let you get a fresh start in hs again and prove you are great and can be pro.

luvvdmycat

>Bill's Fans Bill who?

Acceptable_Result488

Don Mattingly

whistlepig4life

And you wouldn’t say the same thing in their shoes?

geffe71

Neither franchise would have superbowls

10daedalus

Chris Benoit. Without all of the head trauma who knows

CrazyLegs17

r/thatsthejoke

descendency

So Brady's career starts in 2002 and not 2001? Brady was already the guy that Bill wanted in 2001.

Mastah_P808

I’d say for us good ol coach Mayo if he wasn’t so injury prone I’d say he’d be one of NE best middle linebacker.

GloriousVictor

What's crazy is if Mayo stays healthy, what happens to Hightower? I mean we all love Hightower as Pats fans but if Mayo is anchoring the middle and his body doesn't fall apart, wonder if Hightower leaves after 2015 like some predicted at the time. And all the Pats fans I knew IRL wanted him cut after 2013 because he was too slow and felt he was a bust. I love both as players obviously. But it's an interesting thing to think about.

Mastah_P808

It sure is I could tell you this in my opinion if Mayo stayed healthy he’d definitely keep the MLB position. Hightower at 6’4 260 I feel would have been better as an outside LB. Not too many MLB play at 260, he was more of a thumper stuffing runners in the hole.

nativemamba0824

D Rose and it's not even close

joerosedale

They act like that would have gave them superbowl chances, bills sucked and forever will always suck

old_graybush

Never really thought of Buffalo as much of a chess playing city.

MagnifyingGlass

They still wouldn't have won a Superbowl.

Comfortable-Ad-1308

in my opinion, I think they still would've won 2-3 of those first sb's. however, 2007 and the last three does not happen

Fastr77

hahahaa thats a pretty good answer

Downthetrail11

That’s actually pretty funny

Maxpowr9

Wide left now?

CaptainCrockpot

What does Alex Smith not getting hurt change? Do we still have Mahomes?

Madhatter1317

Adrian Peterson. That season he lost, he was about to go nuclear.

thekraken108

I mean that's actually pretty clever.

NickRick

i mean how are you gonna answer that question without changing the past. it's a great answer by him

Murgos-

Never injured? Dan Marino. Already one of the most prolific and accurate passers of all time able to run and move? Yeah, that would have been fun.

Dense_Delay_4942

RG3 would be running for his 10th straight Superbowl win.

NickTheStick101

brady so he doesn't get hurt in 08

tgucci21

Antonio Brown

Fit-Algae943

D-Rose and Grant Hill

mudflap21

Bo Jackson, Gayle Sayers, Mark Prior & Kerry Wood

[deleted]

Do mental injuries count? Because a Gronk Hernandez double threat for a decade puts a funny feeling in me, and I don't think it's the gun shot

lonewolfx25

Aaron Rodgers. Even on his injured years he was usually a beast, but he was noticeably not a top dog whenever something broke or tore. He played through a lot.

SqueakyTuna52

I’d be curious to see what happens if we restart Justin Fields, but have Andy Dalton start the whole season instead of rushing Fields in so early. In particular, I would not have him play against Myles Garrett in his first start. Maybe the same outcome happens, but you’ve gotta figure those first few games where his OL was not helping him whatsoever contributed to his inability to consistently throw the ball when it’s open

bmlunar

Sterling Sharpe

PebblyJackGlasscock

Huh. In that timeline Tom Brady and Bill Belichick win titles in… Arizona? Somewhere.

thowe93

I mean….realistically, Bill gets fired and is never a head coach again (failed twice). Brady goes somewhere else and may or may not be given a chance.

GloriousVictor

Belichick becomes a Dick LeBeau/Wade Phillips like coach, floating to whoever needs him because of his defensive acumen. And Brady is prob a camp body and maybe gets a start or two for one of the sucky teams in the league who are out of options. Peyton Manning wins like 10 Super Bowls or some crazy shit like that because of no Bill/Tom

FlowersnFunds

More like a brain injury but my answer is Aaron Hernandez.
