I love love love how close Paul has kept his band over the decades. It’s very cool. I’m not saying there hasn’t been some rotation (I genuinely don’t know), but it’s really cool how much you see him playing with the same group of (very diverse) folks over the many decades.
Sigh, oh Paul how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…infinity
Yeah eh! I’d like to believe they love it and that’s why they stick around! It’s possible it’s their best paying gig and that’s why they stick around, but that’s not the vibe I get. I can imagine how amazing it feels playing for all those fans.
As far as Wix, Rusty, Brian and Abe are concerned literally no turnover for their tenure as far as I recall, unless you count Paul taking their jobs from them every now and again to do solo work hahahaa
Yeah and here we have Linda rocking no the backup vocals. I can’t believe I missed seeing Linda with Paul.
So many times I said “most time I’ll go”
When I finally did he was by himself.
My only issue with Taylor Swift is that she is being dragged into every damn music conversation. I mean half the chat around the new Pearl Jam album is in relation to her. She's in beatles chats now she is in the Paul McCartney subreddit. I couldn't care less about her. Leave her do her thing I just hate seeing very discussion have her in it online. Anyway rant over
Fair enough, but this post wasn’t written with a serious tone or meant to be a literal comparison of who is better and why.
Obviously I prefer Paul McCartney and think he is a superior artist and musician + his contributions to music overall is immeasurable. I can definitely appreciate getting tired of seeing her randomly injected onto Reddit boards of other artists but this was meant to be a humorous qualification as to why Paul is better not necessarily the end all be all 😂
No but she doesn't use sax in her songs. Her live shows are still amazing though as long as you're not front row. Although in my one experience from front row paul it had its bad fans too.
Oh boy. You said she doesn’t use sax in her songs. That’s an absolute. I replied she has and gave you a song. I’m guessing you have a complex about being wrong? You shouldn’t. I only gave you a fantastic song to take a listen to since you don’t seem to know of it. Didn’t take some weird pride in proving you wrong or something. You ok, friend?
I did know of it, I've already said in these comments of the post how I've seen her live a few times before. I was just saying she doesn't use sax like Paul does which is true. Paul used it extensively for nearly 2 decades, I think first starting with Band on the Run LP. Taylor only has a handful. That's why I said she doesn't use it as paul does.
You may be shocked to know that there are tons of us who think that Taylor is a brilliant lyricist, charismatic performer, engaging storyteller. You don’t win four AOTY Grammys, to say nothing of countless other awards, without having a boatload of talent.
Yeah I’m shocked to see that some Paul McCartney actually like her music, but at the end of the day I respect everyone obviously. As far as Grammys, they don’t mean much nowadays. It’s a show for publicity and awards are given to the artists that sell the most records.
That’s a highly cynical take. You don’t win four AOTYs without a lot of talent. One, maybe you get lucky. Not four, my friend. Look who’s won three: Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra. And two time winners include Paul Simon and Adele.
Just about everybody who’s anybody in the music business recognizes that Taylor is a massive talent and huge force in the industry. Her work may not be to your taste, but it is extraordinarily accomplished.
And there’s a pretty good chance that you would like some of her stuff if you gave it a try. folklore and evermore are exquisite.
You may be shocked to know that Paul and Taylor not only are incredibly similar, in terms of their love of music and fandom for many other artists, they are also big fans of each other. Kindred spirits, which is a big part of why I’m very fond of both of them.
We’ll see if Taylor sells out stadiums worldwide in her 80’s.
Yeah! Haha take that future!
she will
I love how cheap Paul is. It's wild to me that he has MIDI horns and strings. It's like...astoundingly well done, but...pay for some horns, man.
I agree. I think his first time using horns in a tour after Wings was 2018.
I LOVE it with the MIDI lol
Right!? And Wix is literally his longest running band mate of all time pretty sure!
I love love love how close Paul has kept his band over the decades. It’s very cool. I love this clip! I love this song, I love the fake sax, Paul’s ~~voice~~ vocals and this time. Taylor who? What was the question?
Paul’s vocals are INCREDIBLE
Yes his Vocals are *amazing* on this song. That’s the right word. Not voice. Edited my comment.
Maybe I'm Amazed at his vocals...

Wow, this clip is from the archives! Early 1990s? Late 1980s?
From his 1993 tour for Off The Ground. This version appeared on his album Paul Is Live. Both incredible albums to me.

macca feels it
Does he ever. And buddy I’m listening whew

I love how seriously you took the assignment of answering the rhetorical question I posed lol
Sorry lol sometimes I have trouble understanding rhetorical questions even IRL
To be fair…I did make the post flair “discussion” lol you’re good thanks for the engagement ❤️
She does. Take a listen to “False God”
Yes but not to the extent paul does. Through the 70s and 80s
True but that’s different from she doesn’t use sax at all which is what you originally said. Have a nice day!
I didn't say "at all" though.
Oh boy. You said she doesn’t use sax in her songs. That’s an absolute. I replied she has and gave you a song. I’m guessing you have a complex about being wrong? You shouldn’t. Is Hamish wearing some kind of multicolored velvet green shirt or is he just phenomenally sweaty?
I’m going to say the former but it could go either way.
I don't like Taylor Swift. So I don't care how she responds to anything.
Such a brave and rare take on this sub
This was funny. Why are people downvoting it?
Almost as brave as being a Taylor Swift fan.
I like Taylor Swift and I like Paul McCartney.
You sound bananas, Dave!
This is the optimal answer. Guess what, I love Beyoncé also. Holy smokes, being a fan of a bunch of different musicians! 🤯
She is such a mediocre lyricist / pop singer. I can’t understand her success, honestly. Happy for her and all, but still a bit weird.
You'll never guess how a lot of people feel about McCartney, particularly for some stretches of his solo career.
I’m not the biggest Paul fan ever, but some of his solo stuff is really incredible. Hidden gems everywhere imo
I agree, but also, a lot of people feel differently, or they feel that the gem to not gem ratio isn't worth the hassle.
You may be shocked to know that there are tons of us who think that Taylor is a brilliant lyricist, charismatic performer, engaging storyteller. You don’t win four AOTY Grammys, to say nothing of countless other awards, without having a boatload of talent.

I'm convinced people who think she hasn't done anything haven't even heard her music aside from Love Story and Shake It Off
Taylor Swift is 100% an overrated rich entitled upherself overexposed pop crap person Her Music is 100% crap in my opinion.
You may be shocked to know that Paul and Taylor not only are incredibly similar, in terms of their love of music and fandom for many other artists, they are also big fans of each other. Kindred spirits, which is a big part of why I’m very fond of both of them.
This!
There have been many people who shared the same opinion of Paul decades ago.
OK good to know
