I like how the artist based their designs on their canon Metaverse outfits but altered them to fit their new roles. Though I think Akechi would have looked even better with his hair pulled back in a ponytail.
I personally also think that if Akechi were the protag, he’d still be kind of an ass but more willing to show a more compassionate side. Meanwhile, Ren as >!Black Mask would still be the large ham we all know and love, but he’d really lean into the hammy villain trope. Instead of exploding like Akechi did in the boiler room, Ren would just be icily calm and borderline emotionless before and during his boss fight.!<
What do you think these versions of PT!Akechi and Black Mask!Ren’s personas would be ?
Personally, I think Black Mask!Ren’s personas would be Arsène and Mephistopheles.
I agree 100% with Ren’s personas. I think Akechi would have Robin Hood and >!Satanael!<, the latter because of the Gnostic theme going on between him and >!Yaldabaoth!<.
I think he'd still he typical Akechi, just more toned down due to having friends and family. The phantom thieves would be down to kill people if he was in charge though, he is not a good influence 🔪🐦⬛
Even if his personality changed. His design was made to be fake on purpose, a fake idea of what his rebellion spirit is, a crafted prince. His true rebellious form is the black mask and it’s a bit sad it wasn’t used here

Imagine if we get a Persona protag with Bless as his base magic element. That's what I see in this mc Akechi concept.
Wonder p5x
if only it wasn’t a cn game
ren with a side part is peak

They are pretty yes but Akechi as a protag don’t work here, his outfit was specifically design to NOT look like a thief.
I mean, he looks more like a noble than a thief. Though it’s not like Akechi would keep his original personality if he was the hero.

Why does evil Joker look like Adachi from Persona 4 or am I the only one who thinks like that?
Joker with a black mask. Never though I needed it. Apparently I did.
Wait, swapping their roles… and you *don’t* get Batman?
