The joke is a humorous hyperbole of what kids do when they’re hyped up on sugar, which is essentially what the red sauce is. Edit: There’s also an issue that some people had where the red food dye used to make the red sauce, red 40, would cause them to be very hyper and lead to anger and outbursts. I still stand by my answer as a sugar reactive person, but I believe both are true.

nuu_uut

The red sauce is sweet and sour sauce

SDMF_Podcast

To add to this - in the 90s, there was a mild hysteria about red food dye, and that children were reacting negatively to red food dye.

SilentxxSpecter

Tbf, it wasnt completely hysteria. I knew kids that went nuts for a little bit every time they had fruit punch hi c for the same reason. Honestly I can feel myself get more agitated when I have the dye, but it's nothing like other people talk about.

ToddthePancake

Hysteria? I was hysteric once. They locked me in a room; a rubber room. A rubber room with rats, and rats make me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once...

[deleted]

This is 100% real.

SDMF_Podcast

It literally is not recognized beyond an old wives tale. If you cite a source please do, as far as I can tell it stems from an old study and was a lazy news story that circulated

[deleted]

You can google "Red40 hyperactivity" and about 50 pop up from mainstream medical news outlets. One even with a Q and A with a Harvard educated Psychologist with ADDitude Magazine. Also, when I was getting treatment as a child there were children put on no red food dye orders by their doctors. This is pretty well researched and established and is definitely not a wives tale.

SDMF_Podcast

You get news stories, but scientific studies disagree. [like this one, which showed the opposite reaction in rats](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/0300483X8390118X), [or this one that shows perception is much greater than reality and it is a bit more nuanced than one factor in hyperkinetic children](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S030881461730420X), [a study that eventually discovers there may be a potential effect at high doses but more research is needed](https://academic.oup.com/nutritionreviews/article/71/5/268/2460188) ,[a study that can't draw a link to ADHD and looks at flaws of other studies](https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s13311-012-0133-x?hc_location=ufi), [or this one that explores carcinogenic concerns with food dye and fails to draw any distinction between colors](https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1179/1077352512Z.00000000034). At best, a wives tale.

WyvernByte

Red dye. I knew an aspergers kid that would eat flaming hot Cheetos and go on a violent rampage.

ToddthePancake

Fun_Organization_654

What’s funny is red40 the dye is now know to cause hyperactivity in humans lol

Fominroman2

There was also some lore (evidence?) that red dye caused “craziness” also

Arkitakama

I thought it was due to the Red #40

tillacat42

Red food dye can also trigger behavioral issues in kids who are sensitive to it.

Phish-Phan720

Not accurate. A surprising amount of people have adverse reactions to red dye especially Red Dye #5 for whatever reason. It can cause mild panic and psychosis for brief amounts of time. The reaction is more prominent in youth before puberty however, the reaction still occurs in some adults.

MDMagicMark

Wrong it’s about red dye rage

Sweet and sour I think, idk why they’re going crazy though

Red 40

Guy-McDo

Sweet and “””””Sour”””””

TheiaRn

it's full of sugar

Star-Stream

This is a joke because this “Chinese Food” is so divorced from anything that could be considered Chinese cuisine. It’s white rice and breaded fried chicken. The red sauce is extremely sweet, it’s practically a sugar-syrup, so in this case the kid would get a sugar rush and get hyperactive. This post is probably not sincere, it’s probably mocking this “Chinese Food” with an exaggerated and imagined anecdote. EDIT: Here’s a few edits, with help from the replies- 1: Yes, it is battered, not breaded. My mistake. 2: Yes, sometimes Chinese people eat battered chicken with sugary sauce and white rice. I wouldn’t call it “Chinese cuisine”, though, and this dish is more common in Chinese Buffets and restaurants in the U.S. 3: Yes, the jury is out on sugar hyperactivity. The red dye, then, could be responsible. Or, considering this could be posted as a joke, the poster may be speaking jokingly using the popular image of the “sugar rush”. 4: For those saying it’s shrimp, I guarantee you with 100% certainty this is chicken. For one, shrimp in Chinese restaurants is served breaded, not battered. For two, they’re served with cocktail sauce, not the sugary red sauce. For three, they’re fried with the tails still on. In this image, not a tail in sight.

Kagenlim

To be fair, in singapore, we do have fried shrimp that is virtually identical to this. We even have pork chop rice mate lol

theskyguardian

It does come in a shrimp and pork version in the states. If you get a good restaurant the sauce is homemade and less neon in color.

MitchellTheMensch

Bro now you got me thinkin about all the food in singapore like laksa and black+white omelette. Every time I talk about seafood with folks, I still think about the grilled skate fin with sambal I had in a hawkers market.

Kagenlim

Lol same I hungry now sio

McConagher

Isn't the sugar = hyperactive thing bullshit though ?

tugboatron

Yes, it’s been debunked many times but parents continue to have confirmation bias about sugar because lots of sugar is generally consumed during special activities (birthday parties, Christmas, carnivals, etc) and the activity is what jacks the kids up, juxtaposed with the “sugar crash” (aka the kids need a nap because they had a busy day.) There’s very loose evidence about red dye affecting *a small percentage* of children in a negative/hyperactive way.

BlackLight_D9

Yeah, and if sugar is withheld except for special occasions it will get them in the same kind of mood when they get it outside (like from a friend's parents) which further pushes that bias

FuraFaolox

i'm sure it's also placebo or acting in a way they think they're supposed to. kids are told sugar makes them hyperactive, so they act hyper when they eat sugar simply because they were told that's what happens.

bigenginegovroom5729

Literally exactly what happened to me. I always acted normal on sugar, then a friend's mom said "no sugar it makes you hyper" and after that I became hyper when I had sugar. My mom talked it out of me though because she'd seen with her own eyes it was bullshit.

ShitPostToast

When I was taking care of my 4 year old foster daughter we got to find out the hard way that she has a really wild reaction to a generic children's allergy medicine. Wild reaction as in she goes completely nuts, super hyperactive and does whatever pops in her head and things would apparently pop into her head every couple minutes.

tugboatron

Some allergy medicine contains ephedrine, which would cause increased heart rate and alertness, some people react stronger to that than others (especially if the child is at the small end of the child dosing, and getting a larger amount of medication per kilogram of body mass.)

MicGuinea

Many of those studies should be taken with a grain of salt, as they were paid for by the sugar companies. Human beings do not need any additional sugar than what we get from a normal daily serving of fruits and veggies, just as we don't need additional cholesterol. There are actually 2 brothers who own Diamond brand sugar down here in Florida who lobby both sides of the political spectrum (one is Rep., the other is Dem.) by pumping vast amounts of money into the party. Politicians don't want to bite the hand that feeds, so these 2 assholes pretty much have free reign. They also own Sugar in the Raw, Florida Crystals, and pretty much everything on the sugar shelf in the baking section (the illusion of choice!)

[deleted]

> Many of those studies should be taken with a grain of salt, as they were paid for by the sugar companies. Have you looked into the studies and found anything misleading or wrong in them?

tugboatron

Yeah…. Scientific peer reviewed studies are required to list potential conflicts of interest, funding etc in their reports. I’m sure there are issues with “big sugar” lobby but this isn’t a conspiracy. Moreover not every sugar study is from the US much less from Florida; some people seem to forget that life exists outside of America sometimes.

MicGuinea

Yes! I can't name any particular study off the top of my head, because who tf would have that loaded and ready to go, but many cite the old "sugar is essential for your brain" as a key reason to eat sugar. In reality, fruits and veggies have enough. Other studies into the harmful effects of sugar showed that processed sugar is as addictive as cocaine. It's a wild rabbit hole to go down!

[deleted]

So nothing about the hyperactivity?

nuu_uut

https://youtu.be/KzaRphyI3ZQ Scishow did a good video on it. Of course this isn't a direct source in itself but there are many sources in the description. It's a myth, placebo, caused by other factors, etc.

MicGuinea

Oh, that specifically? The only thing I remember is that the boost in blood sugar levels increases heart rate, which can be a contributor to hyperactivity. Nothing on hyperactivity specifically that I solidly remember, sorry.

RedactedSpatula

COULD be food coloring.the EU has Banned a few because of hyperactivity in kids, including red40

Haman3000

It's the red dye, my brother used to chase us with knives, down the street.

csnaturalfitness

I’m pretty sure it’s the dopamine release that affects….effects? kids, they feel so good from the huge surge of dopamine and then when it wears off their brain craves more so gets them to act however they need to to try and get more. Similar to kids throwing temper tantrums if they are told to turn off tv,video games, cel phone etc But I am no scientist of sugar so it’s just an assumption

jahoho

Holy shit what a shitshow of a comment — somehow caught the classic reddit upvote snowball for lack of better response at the time the post hit front page – and you completely missed the point; OP was implying that it was so tight that it made you go apeshit.

[deleted]

American style Chinese food is still Chinese food. There are family restaurants on the west coast who have been serving this type of dish for 200 years, now. Why don’t you take your virtue signaling there and explain their culture to them.

nuu_uut

It's real American Chinese food, just like TexMex is real American Mexican food. But it's not the same type of traditional dishes you're gonna get in China, if that's what you're arguing.

[deleted]

No that’s not what I’m saying. That’s why I called it American style Chinese food. It’s just so annoying when elitist white people get all up in arms trying to explain other people’s cultures and putting down anything “American” as though they are above it. I challenge the dude who wrote the comment I responded to to walk into a family owned Chinese restaurant in Seattle or San Francisco and tell the owners their food is “a joke” because it’s not Chinese enough.

nuu_uut

No, I agree with you there. There is just as much validity in serving American Chinese, and it's also impressive that Chinese restaurants have been able to adopt certain aspects of Chinese cuisine to American tastebuds in a way that has been very successful. My only criticism would be that, at least where I live in America, it's very hard to find a place that serves authentic, traditional Chinese food for those who do want to try it. Near impossible, really. That style has been very overshadowed.

[deleted]

Well that is a good point. I wouldn’t even know how to find that either.

PeanutNSFWandJelly

You tried too hard on this one. It's literally just a joke about the sauce being full of sugar (it's called sweet & sour sauce). That's it. A call back to how parents would exaggerate the hyperness of their children after eating sugar

SadSasquatch587

I have pretty severe ADHD and this story is true for me. Anything super sugary or with that certain red food dye made me go BERZERK

[deleted]

[удалено]

Atlas-Acrux

It’s not the sugar. Red dye 40 affects people with ADHD weirdly

gentlybeepingheart

Huh. I have ADHD and an allergy to Red 40. I wonder if that's somehow related.

TwoSetViolaLol

Is that why I'm angry all the time?

kestral06

Yea, sugar is basically over the counter amphetamine. Right?

Lebron-stole-my-tv

(THIS IS WRONG) IIRC ( someone correct me if I’m wrong) but sugar activities the same dopamine responses as cocaine and has “similar” effects on the brain (just very toned down) Edit: This is wrong please read the comments below for correct information!

nuu_uut

No. Cocaine actively prohibits the removal of dopamine from the synapse, chemically. This is not how our bodies are naturally supposed to function. Sugar just releases dopamine the same as any other pleasurable activity as part of our body's natural reward mechanism. The link between sugar and hyperactivity is just a myth, it's just placebo or caused by external factors. https://www.yalescientific.org/2010/09/mythbusters-does-sugar-really-make-children-hyper/

JungDaBun

This could 100% be shrimp. This is sweet and sour and be it chicken or shrimp this is exactly what it looks like.

tinaonfredyemail

Ayo, same some linguistics grammar for the rest of us

BabyEatingBadgerFuck

I wish they had the sauce for beef and broccoli to eat with that chicken, I'm a fiend.

Critical-String8774

I thought it was just a nonsense "red = anger, so red sauce = anger potion" sort of thing.

02_is_best_girl

Chinese food and anything got divorced? Oh bother I hope they are doing ok.

pewqokrsf

Wait until you find out that Chinese people eat white rice and breaded fried chicken, too.

Far_Blueberry_2375

> Yes, the jury is out on sugar hyperactivity. No it isn't. Sugar does not cause hyperactivity.

Lucidonic

Did you read the rest of it?

Far_Blueberry_2375

>Yes, the jury is out on sugar hyperactivity. The jury is not out. Sugar does not cause hyperactivity. I mean, that's it.

Reddit-gold-goblin

No the joke is the red 40 in the dipping sauce makes people violent

mc-big-papa

American Chinese food is so absurd. American food is based on excess but if you look at any old world cuisine their food is built around making do with what you have. Unless youre rich which is different. Haggis looks fucking weird man but i bet it tastes great. So when Chinese immigrants came over they changed their styles to fit a heavy meat eating American patriot blood. It all just went so such extremes it was barely recognizable from there. Mexican food has similar experiences things went from simpler foods to a 10 layer burrito the size of a newborn. I love all of it.

Defiled__Pig1

"battered chicken" not "breaded".

pmaurant

You are correct that it’s not authentic Chinese food. However the red dye which presumably is in the sauce is connected with behavioral issues with kids. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/red-dye-40-adhd Here is a source.

NotPoland5

I don’t think it’s chicken. It looks more like shrimp.

[deleted]

That’s fried shrimp not chicken.

DRVUK

In UK prawns are battered and would be in at least 2 of the shapes seen here, might be mixed balls (pork, chicken and prawn) here

Marsrover112

Is it weird that both this post and this comment makes me want to get some terrible Chinese food?

MacatacWarrior

i work in a chinese restaurant, that’s sweet and sour sauce. it has a lot of sugar in it, but i would not say it is a sugar syrup

Bootygiuliani420

. I got a much better chance of finding a Chinese person making this than an Italian person making pizza

The_Great_Autismo22

I'm fairly certain they're just talking about how good it is

CMDR_RobotDeer

I thought it was about red 40 in the sauce

Successful_Pitch4611

I thought it had something to do with red dye apparently causing kids with ADHD to lose their shit

Psykohamster

My dad has issues with red 40 and yellow 5. Put both together, or, even worse, add in polysorbate 80, and he could end up in the hospital.

moonshineandmetal

I was always a little sketchy on that claim, until I started eating a shitload of Popsicles with red 40 in them and my brain went NUTS. I was stuck in a manic episode (I have bipolar disorder) until I figured "huh maybe it's the dye?" and stopped eating them. It went away quite quickly and I haven't had any more than the normal amount of issues since then. Could be a coincidence, but it felt different than my other episodes, and I can live without Popsicles lol.

fig_art

wow. huh

massahwahl

I have adult ADHD and was able to step back the dosage of my meds a few years ago after I stopped eating red 40 and began exercising more. It definitely has a negative affect on the brain. We cut it out for our kids too and let me tell you, it is OBVIOUS when they come home from a party or school and had something with it in it. Off the wall crazy and way overly emotional.

FatBoiEatingGoldfish

I WOULD cut red 40 out but goddamn I need by Mountain Dew code red

massahwahl

Dude… I feel ya on this one. That shit is radioactive but worth it when i can deal with the aftermath for the day

killuhkookie

I drink Mountain Dew Voltage to fulfill my urge to drink Windex

Mrjerkyjacket

My older brother has ASD and red 40 is one of the things we make him avoid bc otherwise he has a meltdown (he is severely low functioning) but we also make him avoid any food that isn't cardboard so idk

LiverFox

Red Dye 40 is just catnip for people

[deleted]

Same. Red 40 destroys my brain.

theskyguardian

I think this must be the answer

[deleted]

It does. My brother has ADHD and goes totally apeshit if he has any red soft drink.

CanuckBuddy

This is sweet and sour chicken, a common dish in most Chinese takeout type places which is served with that extremely sweet red sauce. My guess for the punchline is either: 1) this is a reference to red 40 food dye, which has been said to cause aggression and hyperactive behavior in children, or 2) the joke is the absurdity of the situation which the author of the tweet is describing.

TwoSetViolaLol

The second one I've always thought, and honestly that's how I'd like to think of it cause OOP getting violent purely because the love the chicken with red sauce so much is way funnier than there being some science bullshit, that shits for smart people.

IEatKids26

Hi, u/IEatKids26 here, returning for a regular ass day, this meme is alluding to a panic among newer parents around red 44, a dye that is used in a lot of red colored foods. These parents claim that red 44 makes their children aggressive and angry. There are other behaviors associated with different colored dyes. one woman claims that yellow makes her child suicidal.

Lilwertich

I have personally witnessed kids freaking out on red 40. One kid I was watching got into some one time, he promised he wouldn't eat the red gummy worms and I figured since he was known to be sensitive to it he had it down. I look over at him and he has red gummy worms hanging out of his mouth. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt because I heard somewhere that kids are just reacting to their parents energy. The parents expect hyper and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I dimmed the lights and put on Toy story, got some chocolate milk, basicly acted more like a trip sitter. I figured if people on Acid are calm from my energy that a little kid will be similar. Holy. Hell. You can't even say it's placebo because he was told that red dye would put him in the hospital by his parents. He probably didn't even notice he ate them. I even told him "good job not eating the red ones." Dide, the kid wouldn't respond to his name. He was sprinting back and forth across the apartment. He wanted to slam random toys together for some reason. He found it hilarious how I was getting annoyed when he tried to snatch my food out of my hand. For a couple hours that's just how it was. I just tried not to feed into it and not freak out on the poor kid. He was a pretty easy kid when he wasn't tripping on that '40. So yeah, I'd say it's more than just a panic.

Famous-Example-8332

Yeah a kid I knew growing up had red dye and knocked his sister down and wanted to run over her in the car. They were sweet, calm, best friend siblings otherwise. He was ~7.

TheKCKid9274

r/rimjob_steve? Edit: nvm, not exactly wholesome, but the name is worthy

IEatKids26

i’ve been posted there a couple of times

HeCooksForYou

None of these comments are getting it right. It’s not about sugar content or szechuan sauce. There is documented evidence that, for some people with behavioral disorders, certain types of red food dye (like the dye likely used in the red sauce here) make it much harder for them to regulate their behavior. Whatever the mechanics of it are, the person’s disorder becomes much more pronounced, and antisocial behaviors like hurting themselves and others can appear where it’s not present before. [https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/food-colours-and-hyperactivity/](https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/food-colours-and-hyperactivity/) Ergo, mom had to take away the red sauce.

A10GoBrrrt_9584

The red sauce is a “sweet and sour” (emphasis on sweet) condiment that is common with this dish, ‘chinese’ chicken ‘nuggets’. It contains a lot of sugar and likely synthetic dyes. Those 2 things have been found to cause hyperactivity and dangerous behavior in children.

Lilwertich

I've never seen a kid get particularly hyper on sugar, but this one kid I watched became an absolute MENACE when he got red dye.

Vinnyc-11

Me and my mom ordered this Chinese food once, and there was this dark sauce in a tiny container (like those ones you’d get ranch in) that tasted crazy good. When we finished the food, I kept dipping my finger into it and tasting it again, and she was like “just drink it, I know you will.” I told her I wouldn’t, and tasted it a few more times. Then like 10 seconds later I just went fuck it and decided to down the little cup. It was probably just something with soy sauce and honey, but it went fucking crazy.

Fit-Dragonfruit-4434

Sounds like Hoisin. I always have to drink the last part!

ThatGuy-C137

It could be talking about red 40, a food die know to make people more violent.

SexWithYanfeiSexer69

Probably just spicy sauce, the joke is that it's wacky and uncharacteristic to become a threat to society from hot sauce

CanuckBuddy

Nah this is sweet and sour chicken, the sauce served with it is usually more like a sweet and slightly tangy syrup than anything

TheKCKid9274

Hehe red dye 40 go brrrrrrrrr

BrunoJonesky

She was sweet and then SOUR.

hadn't there been news about a Chinese restaurant that put drugs in the food so that consumers would become addicted to going to the restaurant?

Really though. I don’t give a crap if it barely qualifies for Chinese food or if people think Im weird for liking it. I’m eating it like it’s the finest dish in the world. It shouldn’t taste as good as it does, but it does

Isle_of_Dusty_Rhodes

Whenever people tell me that its not authentic Chinese food it makes my head itch, like they're letting me in on some big secret. Oh, I should just throw it on the floor then? I didn't buy it because everyone in Wuhan is eating it, its cause I like it. If they're not having General Tso's they should, its delicious.

the-real-potamis

You put me in any Chinese restaurant, Buffet or high end. you best believe I’m looking for General Tso’s chicken. I have zero clue who he is, but he makes some damn good chicken

brutalistsnowflake

Sweet and sour. It has red food coloring. There was a specific red food color used that was banned for causing cancer. There was a rumor going around that all red food coloring caused hyperactivity in children. This was later dismissed by science.

pmaurant

It’s made with Red Dye which supposedly is connected to kids having behavioral issues. Especially if the kid has autism. This is the correct answer 100%.

Schezuan sauce, popularized by rick and morty and memed? [Pickle Ree](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GC5rAX0xHg)

stinkypants0-0

Thank god it dont got red 21 in it

TheHumanPickleRick

A couple of things. The most common is probably like others have said, that the red sauce is mostly sugar and would make kids hyperactive. It could also refer to some kids having a bad reaction to red food dye and/or the monosodium glutamate that's added to enhance the flavor, both of which can have detrimental effects on kids. I was one of those kids. MSG made me cranky, and red food dye gave me a headache.

Ambitious-Pudding437

It tasty very good, sweet and sour sauce 😂

JayEll1969

Theres also the fact MSG in Chinese Food used to be linked to hyperactivity

DoYourResearchMan

can a homie get a source?

samagonistes

Crack

AdMurky4509

Does no one else call it duck sauce??

AROSSA

Duck sauce is a different sauce. Duck sauce is an apricot sauce. Sweet and sour sauce is ketchup, sugar, vinegar and cornstarch.

hepp-depp

This is a reference to red 40. Many people with ADHD, especially kids, experience aggression and hyperactivity when ingesting lots of red 40, which makes red sauce so red.

Most likely due to the red dye and it’s association with exacerbating ADHD symptoms in children.

These are sweet and sour chicken balls, you can buy them from any Chinese takeaway from the UK, they are something that kids almost culturally eat as they are basically not filled with noodles or vegetables for fussy eaters. Ask any british person if they have had chicken balls from the Chinese and they will know 100% what you are on about unless they lived under a rock. The sauce is a sweet and sour sauce mainly based on pineapple and is sweet as fuck, not even remotely spicy, heavily flavoured with MSG, if you let it cool down to room temperature it turns into a jelly like substance. The joke isn't about food colouring specifically, it is purely about how bad the sauce is for you, and the fact you get a massive portion of something akin to maple syrup. And it drives children absolutley mental. You can also get pork balls, which follow the same idea, but are filled with chewy poor quality pork. This is 100% correct from a British perspective, but the image used the word MOM so I dunno if it applicable to this scenario

patchismofomo

I've fried literal tons of that chicken, and made literally thousands of gallons of the sauce. I call it the diabeetus sauce. It's got quite a bit of sugar

Outside_The_Walls

>Red Dye 40 has been linked to aggression and mental disorders like attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) in children. [Sauce](https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/red-dye-40#behaviors-in-children).

gosohabc123

Everyone is saying it's sweet and sour, I thought for sure when seeing it that they were referring to Szechuan sauce ala the macdonald's Rick and Morty sauce incident.

LawPD

MMM. Sweet and sour chicken balls. I'd eat that entire plate.

Not-a-Teddybear

It’s a nonsense joke guys. The joke is that it’s a ridiculous leap in logic to go from Chinese food to self harm and assault.

mr_rightallthetime

The red dye causes hyperactivity in children including up to self harm.

CasusErus

Sourpatch kids candy commercials. That's sweet and sour sauce. Yall are so far off.

Cipher789

What is that kind of chicken called?

Chahut_Maenad

because sweet and sour sauce good 👍

BigJSchway

Could be Red #40.. probably is. That shit can cause aggressive episodes, especially in kids. Also linked to cancer. Gotta love food in America.

endmee

Food dye is banned in europe because it makes a certain subset of kids emotionally volatile when they have it

RED 40

RegisterOk7907

It's just funny because the red sauce packs a puch when you smell it.

IABGunner

red stew from binding of Isaac is real

GarlicThread

If my parents had ever served me food that looks like penis-shaped giant larvae, I would have put my own self up for adoption.

[deleted]

its meant to be a joke like "the sauce was so good i lost my mind" it had nothing to do with dye or sugar

[deleted]

This happened to me too but for some reason it tasted like blood and everyone around me looked like Horus.

Basic_Resort_2982

I think it’s that Cajun sauce

A_Fox_Does_Art

I think it’s sweet and sour, not sure of the name but it’s a very sugary sauce that goes on the chicken in the picture, it’s almost like a syrup rather than a sauce. Filled with sugar
