Probably a little late to change it now but best thing to do is to call Oriel or even see if there’s a gp practice close to the community pharmacy that will potentially offer you a split placement?
The foundation year does obviously vary depending on where you complete it but ultimately the end goal is to get on the register and then your career really begins. You can find networking opportunities during it and then once you’re on the register look for opportunities into the sector you want.
A year absolutely flies by. You can focus on building up your skills and portfolio to apply for hospital/GP positions (they come out as early as Christmas sometimes, so you at least have something to look forward to/work towards!
Email the lead pharmacist for education and training at a local trust, they’re usually happy to accommodate for a week or two so you can get a good insight into the job and be more prepared for an interview.
Maybe see if your pre reg provider has any links with any gps or secondary care settings? If not, you still have time to sort your own pre reg and maybe find a pharmacy that is able to provide that?
Thanks for your reply. I decided to leave the pharmacy and O am currently looking for slither placement. Can a pre reg provider help me get gp placement without oriel as I was in the understanding that they can't.

Call oriel?
Either call for potential GP places or defer for a year
I don't wanna defer coz don't want to waste a year and been told GP don't give without oriel
It's defer or do it in the CP, any split placements or hospital will be through oriel only now

Good idea but I start pre reg in July. I don't want to wait any longer then that.
Yes still start your training year for sure! Just work towards applying for b6s in hospital or GP positions.

I think this is the last year you can find your pre-reg outside Oriel. All hospitals have to be through oriel but idk about GP.
