This is a pretty ignorant take on vlogging and content creation. I don't like mainstream Filipino vloggers but it's because of the poor quality and content, not because "vlogging isn't a real job."
There are vlogs that are value-adding and ones that are just noise, the same way there are TV shows that have actual entertainment or educational value and shows that are just a waste of airtime.
People just get salty over vlogging or online content creation because putting yourself out there has become more accessible than ever, when previously, being famous and earning money from fame was gatekept behind more traditional forms of on-screen media like TV shows that only the rich or influential could ever hope to delve into.
Content creation is way more than just turning a camera on and standing in front of it; it's marketing, it's branding, it's managing your own finances, it's people management, it's negotiating with partners and handling contracts, it's PR and building a personality people can trust.
It *is* hard work, just not in the way we're used to seeing because we grew up thinking hard work meant working a 9-5 or managing a business selling goods or services.
But content creation IS also a business, and the service or good they sell is entertainment. It also follows the law of supply and demand. If there are people willing to eat up braindead content, then there will be more people willing to make it.
Dig deeper and find that it's not the profession of content creation that's at fault but rather the lack of media literacy in the people that consume the media.
