Quinn is a lazy, half assed defender. He “ presses” more than presses. this is why he’s not very good in this role either. they should find him a team where he can be successful. It for sure is not this one.

I think if the full XI were motivated to press as a unit like they did in '22, Quinn would be fine. The league has our tactics figured out and our personnel has not improved. We need fresh ideas and investment in what's actually out there on the pitch.

So Glesnes as a defender is a bit of a liability. I'm really curious, what are the chances he could transition to CDM. Because going forward he's still good. Good passing, dribbling is good. He's strong. Martinez isn't going to be around forever, and even he's dropped off this year. Could moving Glesnes to the midfield be the play? Obviously, I don't expect it to happen, but it could be an experiment for us to try.

He doesn't have the speed to play as a 6. He'd get cooked all the more regularly playing further forward. I get players go through periods of bad form, but our starting CB's have looked a shell of themselves for a season and a half. It's time to invest in new players.

I'm asking that question with the assumption that we aren't buying new players.

Also, Glesnes is 30. Martinez is 29, and Flach is 23. No chance this happens.

Flach isn't nearly as physical as Glesnes though. He's good in the midfield, but when Martinez isn't here, we need somebody to boss the midfield. Somebody that strong and can muscle people off the ball.

I was at the game and we came out flat in the 2nd half I thought. I will say Charlottes keep was phenomenal when he had to be, but those chances were few and far between. I hate to say this but I think it’s time to regroup and start getting rid of some players. We ran it back last year and had some success but now this core is on a slippery slope that we need to get off of before the season truly is lost.
