I'm not sure that's true, needs a bit more detail. Offer me your content at a sensible price and in a format that lets me watch it in the platform of my choice and I'll gladly pay!

penn_dragonn

And don't suddenly decide you want me to pay for it again or 'expire ' it

Nurgus

Yes indeed. I'd gladly pay for the service I've created with Arrs feeding Torrents feeding Jellyfin. I don't mind paying, I just hate getting shitty service from locked in user interfaces and limited access to my media.

Why is there a post for self justification on privacy evry other day? People will pirate regardless of how it is offered . There is a huge disparity of money across the population as long as that exist people will not be able to afford entertainment or content over their basic needs. And companies won't be able to discount more than a certain amount either cause it would not be business but rather a charity at that point. Let's all pirate but stop with these posts already. .

dankk175

I mean is either these kind of posts or asking for safe sites posts. There is not much else to discuss anyway

No_Echidna5178

Atleast asking for safe sites is a genuine sense of asking for help.

sparkyblaster

This is why I have so many unplayed steam games.

Rilukian

This is true to most of third world countries where many of content providers don't have way for them to legally access their contents.

eyeseenitall

I still would.

There's a lot of factors to take into consideration. I've had my IP stolen and resold for over a decade. What content do you make?

How does one pirate ones art

formulated

That's what I'd like to understand. People definately pirate art. Reproductions of physical media without permission have been ongoing for many many centuries. If the medium is digital art on a screen, where appreciation for it also means sharing it with others - a paywall might be a superfluous road block. Is a design being taken and reproduced physically and for profit? Is it a digital experience you sell tickets to, but someone is scalping them? It's a conflict with art because people experiencing it at all, is an artists intention of any piece. Irritation at it seeing more success in someone else's hands is normal. A singular creator trying to make a living from their own creations only for that to be circumvented is the reason intellectual property rights exist. There's so many nuances to it. I've had a unique physical wood framed, stone painted artwork stolen from an exhibition space, which is a complement. I've had my designs reproduced without permission as prints, posters, pillows and t-shirts, while also working with clothing labels legitimately. Some of it is in books and the publisher worked with me.. sometimes it's reproduced without permission. Does it matter? Matter doesn't even matter. No one owns anything in the end.

This is why I pirate Disney+ if you geoblock content you are asking for it
