that definitely isnt a very difficult feature to implement check out their discord and ask some people, there's surely a way to get popups, otherwise enjoy your newly purchased games :)
Goldberg experimental has achievements too but also requires a little bit of configuration to make it work. Read the readme and check out the tutorial on r/FMHY . You could also ask on the thread at cs.rin if you need some help.
I've tried for a couple hours to get it working and it just won't work for me 😭 Some of my games won't even show up on the home page. The ones that do don't get tracked. The only stuff that it'll track is purchased games
Describe the process you have done thus far so I can get an idea of where you're at on things.
How familiar are you with Goldberg Steam Emulator?
What game do you want to specifically get Steam Achievements and have it support with AW?
Will try to walk you through the process for the stated game.
I followed this tutorial: [https://www.reddit.com/r/PiratedGames/comments/1bgrzdk/how\_to\_get\_any\_games\_achievements\_to\_work\_with/](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiratedGames/comments/1bgrzdk/how_to_get_any_games_achievements_to_work_with/)
Tbh Ive a buuuunch of pirated games lol, but the one I was trying to do it for was Potion Permit. Some games won't show up (yes, I made the folder with the ID in the Goldberg folder). Ik Big Ambitions was one of em
I forgot about one detail....
The recent versions of the forked Goldberg have made some changes.
--------------------
(1) The new save location has changed to:
AppData/Roaming/GSE Saves
With AW, want to add the new path in the AW settings.
AppData is a hidden folder. With taskbar search: %AppData% and it'll show as an option to open. And yes, requires the % sign.
--------------------
(2) The structure of steam\_settings folder has changed as well. There used to be a lot of text files in the "example" folder which have now been condensed into a few .ini files. I mentioned a dlc.txt file. That is now in the "configs.app.ini" file.
If you use the generate\_emu\_config tool then some of this will automatically be created/configured for you. And can just use them as-is. But, I just wanted to make mention of it. Because it was a recent change.
------------------
I know this probably seems like an awful lot. And it is. But, if you take the time to learn it than it can be very rewarding. You can make it so that you get Steam Achievements for 99% of pirated Steam games. And essentially crack games yourself with Goldberg and Steamless.
And Potion Permit is a simple game to crack/work with. Perfect game to practice on.
How convenient! I forgot about this thread. I left a very detailed comment below if you scroll down. I would not recommend the guide OP provided. It's not how it should be done. About the only useful information is making sure you provide AW with your Steam API key.
I would also uninstall the current version of AW that you have and install another forked version. Unfortunately it too is discontinued, but it's a bit more improved upon. I will send a chat. This version was an attempt to try to not have to provide a Steam API key. It can support some games without the API key, but it needs the API key for 100% functionality unfortunately or else some games might not show at all.
That said, scroll down below and find my comment. It's long. It's probably the most detail guide I've given in using Goldberg. Follow my comment to apply Goldberg to Potion Permit.
Near the bottom of my comment, I provided a link to another comment of mine that explains on how to generate the achievements.json for Goldberg Steam Emulator. Follow that guide on how to use the generate\_emu\_config tool.
If you need help, have questions, or want clarification then feel free to comment again.
I'm playing the game, for the story or just fun that's the reward
I owned PS3, 4 and now 5 and never had single platinum trophy
On x360 only one game I had every achievement and that was NSF MW and you get it for completing the game
Yeah I remember them coming in on the 360 and found them pretty arbitrary even then. If I play on steam and one pops up I either ignore it or don't recognise the notification sound.
depends on the type of gamer that you are really. some people are more intrinsic players and will achieve stuff in games just to see if they can do it or how far they can push their skills, other players need some form of extrinsic motivation to get out of their way to do something in game. achievements are a good way of giving those players that extrinsic motivation.
Same with me. Fuck I hate this feeling. I have enough money to buy games but I still feel like I want to pirate because they are expensive (and who spends money on games). And when I pirate, I don't want to continue as it does not have achievements and no tracking of time played. Can't decide if I want to purchase and play or pirate Spiderman.
Trophies, online achievement, awards, all are digital masturbation, it give you addiction with nothing actual achievement, you better use your time for real masturbation or real sex
Or ignore all that and read r/piracy megathread
I am the same as you, especially if the game is worth playing over and over. The first game that I bought when I could easily pirated was the witcher 3.
Never got the appeal of achievements, even when they popped out when I was playing on sony consoles
Always hated that I had to play a certain eay tk get some achievements so I never bothered
It's funny but I hate achievements. I also prefer to play pirated copies of games I own because having to open steam or Xbox app , maybe there is an annoying update and I can't just play straight away. Oh people are online I don't care about. Here have these promotions.
What is the point of hunting anchi's on steam when you legit have steam anchivement unlocker which allows you to unlock every single anchivement without a minute of gameplay
Play things with absurd achievements and try to complete them. So you can get used to stop caring so much about achievements, if this doesn't help you and you still want achievements, seek therapy. But you have to want it, if you don't want it, then if it doesn't affect your life so much, isn't that big of a problem
I used to be an achievement hunter back in the Xbox 360 era. There's definitely a strong dopaminergic aspect to it but personally I always viewed it as extra content for a game I care enough to play the shit out of. Without trophies often games aren't played to their maximum.

Even if I seldom pirate today due to low prices, I could never give a damn about achievements, really. If they happened, cool, but I'm not chasing made-up developer side-side-quests
Same thing happened to 2 of my friends. I feel bad for them because we are broke and I didn't get this feeling or didn't know other people also can get it. I still pirate single player cracked games and buy games that haven't been cracked or want to play multiplayer

Meh, achievements on Steam always felt too much for me. There are some games with several hundred. On xbox you have like 50 so it is actually achievable and a bit rewarding.
Get a 360 and JTAG? I don’t know if it has avhievements but I assume it would
that's soo... bad of you, i get that ppl pirate because cant afford a full price game, but feeling dirty when you can support the people that makes your favorite games?
😂😂😂
I know how you feel I pirated RE4 remake just because run at only until you enter the house then deleted it
Just wanted to see how the pirating process is now , compared to the old days of the Pirate Bay 😅
Not at all. I have paid my dues over time. But now I can't afford to spend cash on my hobbies, every dollar i get goes into my family and mortgage. So more like "broke Scum" some pepole struggle to live day to day.
I feel you… we all know that achievements are useless but some of us are more weak to the dopamine hit when one pops.
I grew up without them but I used to care a lot about them when I played Xbox 360 (pirated with access to Xbox live). To the point I played games I did not enjoy…
Now on console I like achievements because they allow me to keep track of my progression. And some are quite challenging, but clearly I’m not a completionnist. No way I’m forcing myself to 100%.
On pc, couldn’t care less about cheevos… real playtime and keeping my saves are more important to me, especially with pirated games.
I get having a game you LOVE and it's your all time favourite so you want to 100% and get all achievements but ALL games sounds like hell , seek rehab man
No one buys games for the achievements, that’s the dumbest thing I’ver ever heard.
My steam profile is apparently 25, I hadn’t even looked until today.
I buy game because I can afford to, I pirate games to try them before I buy them.
op just said he cannotplay games without achievments poppingg up and if thats not being addicted to steam than what is it? its like traveling but instead of enjoying the moment you are there just for instagram photos
It’s got nothing to do with being addicted to steam, it’s all to do with their brain rewarding them with a dopamine hit for being told they’ve done something good.
There are games that have achievements built within them without needing steam for one and I’m sure that OP was being hyperbolic when they made that statement.
Because if a game is good I like to support the developers, I’m not going to buy a shitty game that’s not worth it.
I grew up in a time when having a demo was happening with most games that were worth buying, I look at piracy as a form of a demo.
Same with me. Terraria got probably 300-400 hours cracked so I bought it and got 300 hours. Witcher 3 probably 80-90% completed cracked version years ago, saw it on sale for 8$ and also got a new pc thought why not boom 44 hours. But when it comes to games like cod they go max sale like 37$ I can't buy that

Sure you can. Goldberg Steam Emulator and Achievement Watcher allows Steam Achievements functionality. But, requires some work to achieve that.
I tried Achievement watcher before, though it tracks my achievements they never popped up, so that was quite useless to me.
windowed borderless and disable focus assistant in windows
that definitely isnt a very difficult feature to implement check out their discord and ask some people, there's surely a way to get popups, otherwise enjoy your newly purchased games :)

I mean, I just masturbate after playing a pirated game. Pleasure association achieved without spending money. ^/s
Could you point me towards a guide for that? First time hearing about this

yeah, good bye, well deserved.
I forgot achievements existed
Lmao same here. On the odd occasion I play a non-pirated game I'm always surprised when one of them pops up. "Oh yeah, these are a thing aren't they?"
i wish i could say the same
Never understood obsession about achievements and trophies
It's something psychological. In general humans like to be rewarded or distinguished for achieving something, that makes you feel good
I'm playing the game, for the story or just fun that's the reward I owned PS3, 4 and now 5 and never had single platinum trophy On x360 only one game I had every achievement and that was NSF MW and you get it for completing the game
see how every sentence starts with “I” ? There’s yours answer ^^ not everyone is the same as you, pretty simple stuff
That's why science says that every person is a world.
My friend also collects achievements, performs uninteresting gaming activities and sometimes in large quantities.. but for what?
Yeah I remember them coming in on the 360 and found them pretty arbitrary even then. If I play on steam and one pops up I either ignore it or don't recognise the notification sound.
So a pop-up makes you feel better? Sounds like a skill issue.
me too. I have mine turned off. And I get majority of my games from gog.com where I don't have them because I don't use galaxy
depends on the type of gamer that you are really. some people are more intrinsic players and will achieve stuff in games just to see if they can do it or how far they can push their skills, other players need some form of extrinsic motivation to get out of their way to do something in game. achievements are a good way of giving those players that extrinsic motivation.
Nobody tell him there is pirate launchers that lets you grind achievement.
Wich one? I'm planning on playing Horizon Forbidden West next, and it's way tooooooo expensive, i don' feel like buying it for now
Which one?
Nah there isn't.
Dw, It's ok to feel that way, even when I pirate I always say when I have money I will stop pirating
I feel the same. With the lack of denuvo cracks, most games I wanna play end up never cracked.
At the end I think "It's my hobby, the reason why i still alive, why not?" And i don't usually regret, on the contrary, makes me happy
A launcher like playnite tracks stats, and there are achievement equivalents mentioned above
gog launcher lets you track time played
Achievements are overrated. You can do this OP. Don't let them feed you stuff into your brain. Fight it. Let the sails guide you in the open seas.
use Steam Achievement Manager
Holy hell, I feel you 😂
Bro will rip his hair out when he finds out that some games have free mods for that.
Bro would love Binding of Isaac, Payday 2, and Vampire Survivors
oh hell nah, i'm not getting 1k achievements.
You dont like achievements appearing on the bottom every 3 seconds? That's too bad 😂
Trophies, online achievement, awards, all are digital masturbation, it give you addiction with nothing actual achievement, you better use your time for real masturbation or real sex Or ignore all that and read r/piracy megathread
Too late I'm getting freaky with my peanits with Steams 100% blue ribbon
are you a 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴
I am the same as you, especially if the game is worth playing over and over. The first game that I bought when I could easily pirated was the witcher 3.
Same, it don't feel right despite making literally no difference to 99% of games
I usually just wind up buying the games if I find myself REALLY wanting those achievement (or if I just really enjoy the game)
That was my exact case with Horizon Zero Dawn
And it's okay. You can do what you feel like with your money as long as you enjoy it :0
That's fair, play how you want to play, not what people on reddit say is "superior" to feel better.
Is it only me who doesn't give two cents about achievements, i feel like they're there to make people get addicted to game
Never got the appeal of achievements, even when they popped out when I was playing on sony consoles Always hated that I had to play a certain eay tk get some achievements so I never bothered
Something happened to me. Instead of 200 pirated games. Now I only have 5-6 original games which i play regularly.
Damn, i wouldnt feel my pc like a safe place to save personal data with 200ish pirated games.
That's why i keep my gaming pc and work laptop separate. My pc just has games and a bunch of explicit mods for fo4
LOL sometimes all you need is explicit mods for fall out 🚬
Only reason why i bought it lol. Also it has longevity with mods too.
real
It's funny but I hate achievements. I also prefer to play pirated copies of games I own because having to open steam or Xbox app , maybe there is an annoying update and I can't just play straight away. Oh people are online I don't care about. Here have these promotions.
It's okay, somebody has to buy games.
What is the point of hunting anchi's on steam when you legit have steam anchivement unlocker which allows you to unlock every single anchivement without a minute of gameplay

Goodbye son
Fucking same, I've been consumed by Steam achievements. It all started when I unlocked my final Elden Ring achievement and seen the glorious ribbon😔
I know how you feel, but getting achievements on Steam doesn't feel rewarding, since anyone can have all the achievements using SAM
Me too
You and me both 😭
I used to be an achievement hunter back in the Xbox 360 era. There's definitely a strong dopaminergic aspect to it but personally I always viewed it as extra content for a game I care enough to play the shit out of. Without trophies often games aren't played to their maximum.

There is the "play to have fun" thing.
steam achievements feel completely ungratifying unlike PlayStation trophies. so I couldn't care less about achievements
What’s the difference? One just says it’s bronze, silver, etc, the other says the percentage of people who have them.
Even if I seldom pirate today due to low prices, I could never give a damn about achievements, really. If they happened, cool, but I'm not chasing made-up developer side-side-quests
Weird I get annoyed when a achievements pop up
The West has fallen
Play factorio. It gives you pop ups in game and steam
Last time achievements actually felt rewarding to me was in Elden Ring.
Same thing happened to 2 of my friends. I feel bad for them because we are broke and I didn't get this feeling or didn't know other people also can get it. I still pirate single player cracked games and buy games that haven't been cracked or want to play multiplayer
Just get achievements on pirated retro games with RetroAchievements

I play offline I can't even have Achievements pop up!
Why play offline , I always play online just feels a hassle to click appear offline
I have no internet at home.
weird

Congrats they brainwashed you successfully
Oh crap, I am a victim of consumer capitalism
I never cared for achievements/trophies. It's just a cheap way to make you play more after you finished the game.
thats why i hate steam they brainwash people into spending money just for achievments and cards lemme guess is your steam lvl higher than 20?
Nah, humbly lvl 8
I can't tell if you're serious tbh.
I’ve heard dumber things come from people in this sub in a serious way.
Yeah, this subreddit is full of these types of characters.
