You know there's two modes? The arena mode doesn't have a shop phase, you level up and pick upgrades as you collect gems. Obviously can't make you enjoy the other mode, but almost every objective can be completed in less than a minute, and if you keep your combo meter high you'll have enough gems for multiple upgrades.
It's in Early Access on Steam for PC (and is Steam Deck verified). The 1.0 update will launch with a ton of new content and features on July 16th. boons and burdens i find very pretty, but super boring to play. Waiting between rounds for upgrades makes it just a yawn slog. pretty though.
