Usually access with seals/sea lions/crocodiles etc. They need a gradually slope and the hit box can be a lot bigger than you expect so access can be weird. If the traversable area isn’t allowing access to the water it’s probably that - be sure to check an adult male and a female as they may have different access needs. For example my adult make alligator tonight couldn’t get out of the habitat even though it had 4m wide arches and female weren’t struggling and it looked like plenty of room. 🤷♀️
Maybe they need a more gradual slope into the water? If it's just a drop off, the animals can't go in.
