Nope. I had a huge savanna with elephants, rhino, hippo, giraffe, and zebra with no issues, if their needs are met you shouldn’t have issues. And if you’re in sandbox you can always just turn off fighting.
The rhino and hippo do use the same model so it’s possible the game gets confused
Yeahh I have a similar habitat, but there's no rhino or hippo together. The rest of the animals all live happily. Maybe it was a one-off thing.
Either way, my hippos share space with flamingos currently and everyone's happy!
Like others have said, all herbivores can safely be housed together with no issue. The one exception is hippos and rhinos - put those species together and they’ll fight. Everything else is compatible.
In addition to this, some species actually gain enrichment bonuses by being housed with certain other species. Specifics can be found in the zoopedia.
Our nearest by zoo recently had their 50 year anniversary; It's an incredibly well respected zoo and they had some stations set up to learn about their history. They were very forthcoming with past issues at the zoo, which included housing rhinos and elephants in the same enclosure. I was kind of shocked at this, and was like "oh did they get along?" and the educator was like "they did not."
Just a suggestion list:
If in europe: wisent, boar, red deer, Fallow deer, Wolverine, red fox, Alpine ibex
If I america: bison, Wolverine, red fox, artic fox, reindeer, dall sheep, promghorn, raccoon, skunk
No they don't actually. They will with like wolves but small ones don't affect big animals like Moose and bison. If you put a deer or something in there it'll be bad tho.
Yeah I does but the Moose generally doesn't react and they obviously can't kill them. Like there's better animals you could put together but I'm just saying you can pit these and they'll be mostly fine.
what everyone else said, except out of personal preference I like to put them with raccoons where they can enter the Moose habitat if they want but also have their own indoor home.
There are 3 levels of toleration for animals sharing a habitat:
1 - fully compatible and have an enrichment bonus
2 - fully compatible but no bonus - these animals have the same terrain/plant requirements or close enough that they can both be 100% happy
3 - partially compatible - these animals won't fight but don't quite have the same terrain/plant requirements so you can't have both 100% happy in the same habitat
Then incompatible would be animals who will fight/eat one another.
I use the fantastic Data Chest spreadsheet by Villanelle to check compatibility as it has a sheet with all animals showing compatibility levels for all other animals on a matrix. Plus a sheet where it's all listed in case you find the matrix difficult to read. [https://www.reddit.com/r/PlanetZoo/comments/1d2azcn/planet\_zoo\_spreadsheet\_update\_barnyard\_new/](https://www.reddit.com/r/PlanetZoo/comments/1d2azcn/planet_zoo_spreadsheet_update_barnyard_new/)
There's also a fantastic Habitat Planner spreadsheet by Senginous [https://www.reddit.com/r/PlanetZoo/comments/175ocx1/detailed\_habitat\_animal\_spreadsheet\_and\_planner/](https://www.reddit.com/r/PlanetZoo/comments/175ocx1/detailed_habitat_animal_spreadsheet_and_planner/)
If you aren't a spreadsheet person then msarzsar has used the information from Villanelle's spreadsheet to create a website that checks compatibility - you just choose the animals you're considering and it will tell you how compatible (or not) they are. Or you just choose one animal and you'll get a list of all animals in order of compatibility [https://www.reddit.com/r/PlanetZoo/comments/1cs6w0n/i\_made\_a\_website\_that\_can\_check\_any\_and\_all/](https://www.reddit.com/r/PlanetZoo/comments/1cs6w0n/i_made_a_website_that_can_check_any_and_all/)
Last time I checked that big spreadsheet of compatibility apparently neither the timber or Arctic wolves cause problems while living with moose? Which…doesn’t seem quite right…
Planet Zoo tends to underestimate how capable some predators are at big game killing/overestimate how resistant certain herbivores are to predators that would happily kill and eat them given the opportunity, which in the context of managing a good zoo is fine if not a little irking from a zoological standpoint.
By the game’s logic, gorillas and giraffes are apparently immune to predation by lions for some reason even though African buffalo are rightfully quite threatened by them. Meanwhile irl, leopards are a documented predator of the former that get the better of even silverbacks more often than not and lone lions are capable of pulling down adult giraffes.
I’ve put them with beavers a lot, they also do well with the red deer, theoretically you could put them with any herbivore that like the same environment.
You can find what animals can live together in the zoopedia
(To be accurate, you can find what animals gain enrichment from being with each other in the zoopedia. They might live with other animals without fighting)
That’s a pretty important distinction for what OP is asking. You can, for instance, safely house hippos and flamingos together, but they don’t have an enrichment bonus, meaning there’s nothing in the Zoopedia about it.
Any Herbivore would do really but if you want to see who would pair the best have a look at the zoopedia at the end tab it tells you exact animals they can share with.
I’ve read that all herbivores can be housed in the same habitat safely. Whether they like the same environment would be the question.
Rhinos and hippos can't they fight

It's actually just rap battles between the hiphopopotamus and the rhymennoceros.
They can fight, in game Ive housed them together and had no problems tho
None of them get injured? I didn't keep them together cuz it said they were fighting

Any herbivore should be fine. I paired mine with American beavers and it worked really well
I did this as well. Big semi aquatic habitat with moose and beavers. Works great and looks natural as well

Pretty sure wolverines and foxes count as predators in PZ. They won't necessarily kill a grown moose, but the moose will act defensive with them.
No they don't actually. They will with like wolves but small ones don't affect big animals like Moose and bison. If you put a deer or something in there it'll be bad tho.
I just tested it- put a moose in a red fox together in a habitat. Got a warning popup saying that there was intimidation happening.

I think they’re fine with any herbivore
Other moose
You might be on to something
what everyone else said, except out of personal preference I like to put them with raccoons where they can enter the Moose habitat if they want but also have their own indoor home.
Any herbivores can be safely housed with moose, they just won't get interspecies enrichment bonus.

I stuck skunks and beavers in mine, it was nice
I’ve put them with beavers a lot, they also do well with the red deer, theoretically you could put them with any herbivore that like the same environment.
I've found that they tolerate the small clawed otter.
Be careful with the moose. A møøse ønce bit my sister
I have had them with beavers before.
