Hoka recovery slides are on my feet this very instant and they are the best. However I have yet to find a pair of Hoka lace ups that hit the spot for me. I think it will just depend on your foot.
For me, no. I think it really depends on your feet. They have pretty high arches and weren’t ideal for my flat feet. They were better than some shoes I’ve tried but really just didn’t suit me, might be great if you have high arches.
A good running store is 100% the way to go. Try on every single shoe that you can. When I was freshly injured and every step was excruciating I ended up in Hoka Bondi 8 for the heal cup and crazy padding. I wouldn’t have survived without them. Now that my feet are stronger I can’t stand wearing them anymore because they’re so rigid so I changed to Topos. Wouldn’t have found rather pair without a good running store where you get professional fitted.
I liked mine but by far prefer my Brooks over the Hokas. I have the Cliftons and they are comfortable but I end up choosing to wear the Brooks pretty much every time
I suggest trying Adrenaline. I was wearing Ghost when I got my injury, and Adrenalines with new Protalus insoles practically healed it on it's own. I still have a little pain but it's immensely better.
Brooks Adrenaline are for individuals who need stability. I understand this worked for you, but as a generic blanket statement, this is not good advice.
For me Brooks Ghost, extra wide for extra room in the toe box, with custom inserts from the podiatrist were my saving grace.
The real advice is for OP to have a consultation with their podiatrist (primarily) and possibly someone from the shoe store to get their recommendation.
I suppose but that was the advice of my podiatrist and in line with what I read online that it was advised for Plantar Fascitis.
And of course they should meet with a podiatrist, I merely answered a question like the other person based on my experience, odd to only reply to me.
Just went to physical therapy for hip flexor tendinitis. I had mentioned that I was also just diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and asked if the two could be related. PT responded with yes and said that she noticed my Hokas right away which made her happy. Also agree with others that shoes depend on your feet. I have the Clifton 9 wides (old and new versions) and like them both. Tried ASICS gel nimbus 25 and thought they were slightly more comfortable but the colors were terrible. Also agree with others that stretching is important and strengthening.
I like my hoka bondi 8’s. Personally having extra room in the toe box has been helpful for my feet and hokas have that extra room. I have brooks as well and really like those too, but they are narrower. I guess it just depends on what feels good to you. Find a store where you can try them and even wear them for 30 days and return if they don't work. Fleet Feet offers this.
My feet started healing after getting Hokas but at the same time I wonder if I just needed to get shoes that fit me better. Before getting Hokas I measured the length and how wide my feet are. I never done that before. I realize this entire time I was wearing really tight shoes that were half a size smaller than my feet
Went through two pairs of Bondis over the last year. They are comfortable if you enjoy feeling like you are walking on two bags of marshmallows. (for some of you that is a good thing). I didn't like that so my foot doc recommended the Brooks Beast. I have them with new custom inserts, but it's too early to review them.
I have Hoka Bondi’s and Brooks Glycerine and Ghost.
The Hokas and Glycerines are similar and superior to the Ghost for cushioning and reducing pain.
Brooks has a bit of lift in the heel which should reduce the shock for PF but in reality I can’t tell any difference
I don’t like the look of the Hokas much
I’m conflicted about my Hokas. I got fitted at a really trustworthy running store, so I really trust their judgement on the fit. The problem for me is that they aren’t always compatible with custom orthotics. My orthotics cause a lot of toe scrunching. Also, because I wear the Arahi to help with overpronation, I feel like I’m being overcorrected when I add my orthotic to the mix.
The verdict from me is that Hokas are wonderful for recovering from a flare up, and great for runners with sensitive foot muscles and tendons, but not for every day use. For every day, I would prefer Chacos, Birkenstocks, or a neutral shoe with enough vertical space to accommodate orthotics. I still have not found a shoe that does this for me.
No. They're good for some people. Not for others. Depends on your foot build and what's causing your PF.
Go to a good shoe store, they can look/scan your foot and make a good recommendation.
I got classified as having "new balance feet" and handed a grill on the way out (but also Hoka shoes are too narrow at the arch and don't fit me at all).

Same. love the slides but the Bondi 8 are comfy i guess but still cause me pain

Go to a good running store and get fitted. While a specific brand/model might be good for one person, you or I might find them terrible.

Clifton 9 or Bondi 8

Which pairs of Brooks with stability would you recommend?
I have the Ghost 15’s

Not for me. They were too squishy and gave me tendinitis

Bondi 8 wide= no for me unfortunately 💔
I go for the men's extra wide. 👞 Only a few colour options.
I went to my local running store and they said Hokas were bad for PF. Was I being lied to???
for me Bondi 8 wide model helped a lot. Just love it .
Depends. The cushion is so nice but long term I think it made my feet weaker. I switched to ASICS.

Try them on in a store. People either love them or hate them. I am in the hate category.

Brooks were much better for me.
Personally, no. They were nice but I much prefer my Brooks.
