Don’t use any hot water overnight and see if you have hot water in the morning.

Using an excess amount of water shouldn't cause your pilot to go out. It's likely one of those freak instances where things happen coincidentally at the same time. A water heater should continue attempting to heat water even if all the hot water has run out and it's only cold. If you are attempting to light it yourself, is it a push ignition or are you manually lighting it with a handheld torch or match? Make sure it's set to pilot if you are. Newer models have instructions on how to light right on the tank. There could be a few things that may have caused the pilot to go out or not stay lit. Hard to say without actually seeing it.

Freak coincidence should be the title of a book about my life haha! THANK you for the advice! I was able to FINALLY get it lit. Had to go against instructions and essentially "prime" the ignition instead of just holding it down. Like a primer bulb on a weed eater. Yay I can shower now haha!
