I would call that a custom card rather than a fake. Fake implies that they're trying to make it seem real to trick people. Customs are different cuz you know ahead of time it's not a real card

Not a fake as it’s not copying an authentic card. It’s just a custom. You can find them pretty easily on Etsy (or Insta but harder to find the artist / custom card creator)
Lets go with custom or fanmade then. Fake implies an intent to deceive. Custom cards in other TCGs are made intentionally for fun. Look at how it works in MTG as an example. We can’t assume someone made this trying to pass it off as legit/playable/etc. In fact, it seems other comments are saying they found it on Etsy, so there you go.
If you still don’t see I’ll give another example: What would you call a pair of shoes thats trying to be a copy of a specific designer pair? Fake. What would you call something made by a fan inspired by a design but made differently, potentially with as good/quality materials? A custom shoe. There’s a whole market for that stuff. Sure OP/daughter may have been confused and thought it could be an official card, but calling it fake devalues the creators artistry in making something unique and cute like this card. That is why I wouldn’t compromise the intent behind its creation by calling it a fake - akin to someone simply trying to make a quick and low quality knock off for $$.

If you cant find it its 99 percent fake. 1 percent you looking at redrawn artist card thats not valid anymore, or a promo and looking in wrong sections site to find it.
I wish they’d make that as a real card. This is definitely fake. Hopefully her trade wasn’t valuable. But on the other hand, she’s just a kid. If she likes it enough, then this was a very nice trade. 😌
Pretty much been answered already but yeah this isn’t an authentic card but it also doesn’t seem to be counterfeit but rather a custom card. That makes the answer to your question a little iffy, I would imagine that if the trade was made under the pretense that all cards being traded were authentic then your kid “lost” but at least they got a custom card rather than an obnoxiously counterfeit one. If they knew it was a custom card and they’re happy then they “won”.
This might be a good opportunity to learn with your kid together how to verify a card being real or not. Not sure if they have access to an internet enabled device on their own but maybe they can look things up before formalizing trades (trust me I was a kid once too and Ive made similar mistakes haha). Also, if they no longer want the card it wouldn’t hurt to ask for a trade back unless it’s been established that there are no trade backs. That can also be iffy of course so if the traded card wasn’t of high value it might not be worth trying
