I’ve seen the movies. They’re God awful. Christian just gives me like, manipulator vibes. He comes off like someone who wants to get close to me, use me, and then throw me away once he doesn’t need me anymore. I know that’s not what they were going for. I know he’s supposed to be hot and romantic and shit. It’s just, the directors are really bad at their job.
Right, or they'll go to stormfront of the chans or whatever... Like hey, here's a community of people that have all range of beliefs, including extreme ones - why don't we make it so that the extremists only talk to other extremists? It makes no sense
u\/ --UNFLAIRED-- Despite posting quite a lot of quality posts, should not be respected due to his being a filthy unflaired.

Not saying Christianity is better but if you're going to say Islam is more tolerant of literary criticism you're objectively wrong.
EDIT: Barely more than a week later and [this happens](https://apnews.com/article/salman-rushdie-attacked-9eae99aea82cb0d39628851ecd42227a).
Unpopular Opinion: It's a good thing to restrict what teachers can make as part of a mandatory curriculum. And the public should have a say in what kids are forced to read.
The difference between CRT and Christianity is one is dogmatic belief system above reproach that must be strictly adhered for individual and societal righteousness, the other is Christianity.
One believes that it's ideology must be spread through government (caliphate and jihad), and people who do not subscribe are a lesser class of people who deserve rebuke and will face judgement (infidels) - the other is Islam
I agree with this. I have heard that some schools in the south teach a pretty weird version of the civil war. I feel that schools shouldn’t be allowed to teach misinformation. That being said, I read this book in school, and I don’t think there was anything in it that warranted being banned.

I will never read 50 Shades of Gray but I'm keeping my opinion

It's a bit like this sub. Maybe you should read it before you decide you want to ban it.
If anyone read this sub, they would want to ban it.
And none of us could disagree.
On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'Tis a silly place.
But then after a few days of embracing the chaos and larping you absolutely will not want to ban it
I've been reading this sub for years, the only reason I can think of not to ban it is because then the users here would contaminate the rest of reddit

Remember when that French teacher was beheaded in public for depicting the prophet Muhammad?
Or when the South Park creators were sent death threats for planning to depict Muhammad in a cartoon.
Even though they were doing it for years in the theme song and just no one noticed.
where?
[All of the super best friends were in the opening](https://i.imgur.com/KQUlZ.jpg)
or Charlie Hebdo? Or Iran putting a fatwa on Salman Rushdie?
Remember when that British teacher was ran out of town by Muslims because he dared to talk about the Charlie Hebdo incident..
Or how Salman Rushdie spent 2 decades with a price on his head for the book The Satanic Verses
I member
There is actually a dem lawmaker in Virginia trying to get Persepolis pulled for being Islamophobic

This is incredibly dum dum, no way you tried to paint Islam as more tolerant
Unpopular Opinion: It's a good thing to restrict what teachers can make as part of a mandatory curriculum. And the public should have a say in what kids are forced to read.
This isn't unpopular with normal people. The people who are upset about banning CRT books would be seething if the Bible was taught in public schools
The difference between CRT and Christianity is one is dogmatic belief system above reproach that must be strictly adhered for individual and societal righteousness, the other is Christianity.
Now do the difference between CRT and Islam
One believes that it's ideology must be spread through government (caliphate and jihad), and people who do not subscribe are a lesser class of people who deserve rebuke and will face judgement (infidels) - the other is Islam

Who’s hating on Persepolis? Great fucking book.

No books should be banned, I need to be able to tell communists why they are stupid in a accurate and polite way.
I'm pretty sure I remember someone going to jail for spreading blasphemous jokes about Allah. This meme is just plain wrong.
Dude Muslims kill people over comics, wtf are you talking about?
u/--unflaired-- is Haram but his memes are Halal
I really liked Persepolis when I read it.
Persepolis is great. Read it in my sophomore year of high school and purchased a copy for myself along with Maus.
I live in an islamic country and I can assure you that book has 99% chance to be banned here.
From what I've heard Persepolis is a quality read
I don’t think you know anything about Islam OP…..
I love that book, good shit. Also a good film.
Perse :DDDDD
Persepolis is an amazing book as well as a great movie. Both are worth your time if you haven’t checked them out yet.
Lol I read Persepolis in school
Had to read that anime in my English 1301, now I want to ban all anime from public school
I read that book in 7th grade (and we watched the movie) and holy shit it's good. Would recommend
No, we will just ban it - the Supreme Leader doesn't like the cover.
No, I refuse to read books
