I think the 992.2 GTS is a technological tour de force with the hybrid system but it’s a big car and weighs an additional 150 lbs over the 992.1
I would actually do the opposite. The 992.1 GTS is not very differentiated from the 992 S.
992.2 on the other hand, has a completely different engine and transmission due to the inclusion of the hybrid tech. The engine also sits lower due to the new layout.
The weight differential is minimal and turbo lag is essentially eliminated.
I went from a 981 GTS to a 992 Carrera T. The 992 is better in every way except sound. Even after 3 different exhaust set ups it doesn’t sound as good as the 981 GTS
The sounds of the 981 is amazing there is quite no car that can rival it, but would like a more premium look. Gonna think a bit, do you regret selling your 981 GTS ?
I’m wanting a 981 or 781 GTS but mostly looking for a manual since it’s just a weekend car. X73 is a really nice option to have and don’t see that too often
I found a manual GTS 981 Boxster about 3-4 months ago with X73, but I was the opposite…I didn’t want that stiff of a suspension for a weekend car, only if I were tracking it. It also had high mileage (over 50,000), so that didn’t help.
If it has full leather I’m not sure what you’re after in a more premium interior. A 992 will be newer and have fewer buttons but not sure it’s more premium.
Go 992, the steering is so much better plus the interior. I guess if you’ve already got a 981 you won’t be too dissatisfied with the 991 steering though

Did you install a valvetronic system that open the valve full ?
My current exhaust is valveless so no need for a valve controller

No, I too wasn’t sold on the 981 looks, especially the rear. The 992 is a much better car all around
I have the same issue with the rear, dislike also the 718. The 992 rear is incredible.

What are the specs on your 981 GTS?
