I feel like both yes and no. it feels like it's worrying about the upcoming winter during the transition period to me, but I can definitely see where you're coming from.
You're walking through the brisk October air, the cool breeze against your face. Your iPod Nano plays "Stop the Fuckin Car" and everything is right with the world for a moment.

Wouldn’t trade those nights back in the day for anything. Story of the year in general but that song specifically really reminds me of those times. Funny now we are both older than the age mentioned in that song. What a timeless song. I was freshman in highschool when I jammed out to that track and I was nostalgic at the time for my younger childhood years spent in the early to mid 90s and now today I’m nostalgic for my highschool years when that song came out.
I literally made a post about nostalgia sickness the other day around this very issue haha. Are us elder emo's version going to be stuck in a cycle of yearning for the past? :(
I even have my own family now. My eldest is half the age that ***I*** was when I first heard SotY. Life is crazy.
Hell yeah niece, watch out thought- it might not be a phase!
I made the realisation that early 2000's is how our parents thought of the 80s when we were kids. I remember a lot of 80's themed parties growing up. Time passes way too fast.
Autumn - Deja Entendu by Brand New
Winter - The Silence in Black and White by Hawthorne Heights
Spring - In Medias Res by PM Today
Summer - Rise or Die Trying by Four Year Strong
Haha I'm glad you think so! I was a bit iffy on what bands fit in the genre but these are what come to mind. I admit that I don't listen to much Hawthorne Heights but I have a core memory of shoveling snow in my driveway during a pitch dark early morning (nearly literally black and white) hoping for a snow day while jamming to "Dissolve and decay" and "Blue burns orange".
Autumn- The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me by Brand New
Winter- Things Take Time, Take Time by Courtney Barnett
Spring- When We We’re Friends by Backseat Lovers
Summer- Dreamland by Glass Animals
Vena Amori - The Seduction of an American house Housewife is a good Halloween time album - Fall
Glassjaw - Everything you ever wanted to know about silence gives me Winter vibes
Envy - The Fallen Crimson - Spring
Finch - What it is to burn I don't know why this album gives me summer vibes.
Juturna is such a Fall album. Winter I'll go with mutilator by gatherers. Spring is tough, maybe Thursday? Summer I'll say Hail the Sun lmao
Juturna is winter for me. I think mostly because "in fear and faith" lyrics.
This is spot on.
I feel like both yes and no. it feels like it's worrying about the upcoming winter during the transition period to me, but I can definitely see where you're coming from.
This is me too. Anytime I think of juturna I immediately think “can we last through the winter”

Full Collapse is certainly a Summer album, I would add that The Amulet by Circa is a Winter album as well
Yeah, shit. Juturna and Deja Entendu are basically must-do’s in the fall. AFI’s Art of Drowning and Sing the Sorrow work too.

I’d agree with this but swap winter to The Amulet.

I'm 35 and "I still recall, every summer night, like it was yesterday"

My wife and I don’t have kids yet but my niece is the age I was when Page Avenue came out and she’s into emo. Crazy shit.
