Hard to believe with all the lightsabers buried on Tatooine that Luke never saw one until he was 19.
Although, Yoda does call his ass out for never being focused on what he was doing, so you know this boy was just tripping over sabers all the time and Owen was sitting there wondering why he couldn’t have gotten the other kid.
But it’s even cooler how they didn’t merely switch. You can hear both Hayden and Jones’ voice the entire time because Vader is still talking through his helmet but the opening lets you hear his actual voice. But yeah you hear more of his actual voice at first because he’s trying to fight the Anakin within him.
I also love how the scene adds validity to what Ben told Luke. Vader *told* him that he killed Anakin Skywalker.
The smile on his face is so sinister it almost feels predatory. He's enjoying seeing Obi Wan in pain feeling that there is nothing left of his friend, his brother is now dead in his eyes and this monster he helped create is fueling Vader's hatred.
It adds so much more depth to the line because the certain point of view is Luke’s father’s. I always thought Kenobi was implying it was his opinion as some sort of coping mechanism to absolve himself of his own guilt, but it’s actually quite the opposite. It was Anakin’s coping mechanism that he imparted on Obi Wan and shows Vader absolves him of guilt.
It also shows Vader completely associates himself with his new evil persona. Anakin was weak, Vader is strong, in his mind. Even though Anakin’s original dark side motivation of saving Padme is long gone, at this point, Vader fully embraces the dark side and his new association with it.
How does it feel for Obi Wan Kenobi’s canonical first words to Luke Skywalker in official Star Wars on screen live action canon to be the result of this subreddit existing
That's twice now that Vader has had his helmet cut open by someone from his past then had to state that Anakin Skywalker is gone by his hand. I enjoyed it the second time around too.
Also seeing Obi-Wan call Vader 'Darth' was a good nod to their (presumably) next meeting on the Death Star.
People are getting angry about it not being original but how else would we see his face and hear his voice in that context?
It's not as if the first time was live action either. I have zero problems with it and thought it looked incredible.
I completely agree with you. Granted, I didn't see the animated version of Anakin through the broken mask - but in terms of this episode, the story we've followed up to this point, and having it be at the climax of the final battle of the episode... I thought it was brilliant.
Ewan's/Hayden's acting, Anakin's voice breaking through Vader's, Obi-Wan realising and resigning to the fact his brother truly isn't there anymore - it felt like Mustafar all over again!
I’ve seen people make the point that Obi-Wan and Ahsoka both took a different side of Vaders helmet away and couldn’t bring Anakin back but only Luke takes his whole helmet off him to restore Anakin
Eh when I first read the leaks, I wasn't too hyped about that detail, but I loved the way they pulled it off, with Kenobi slicing the left side open, while Ahsoka hits the right side.
I was waiting for a "Look at who has the high ground now, master" comment or something along those lines. Would've been cheesy as hell, but I would have loved every moment of it
Silly Vader, he merely adopted the high ground, Obj-Wan was born in it, molded by it, he didn’t see the low ground until he was a man but by then it was nothing to him but low
The way Ewan’s eyes tearing up, his voice breaking and Hayden’s voice transitioning between Anakin and Vader…I am going to cry over this for the next ten years.
This is just perfect.
I want more and I know I shouldn’t.
Also similar do what he says to ahsoka
Ahsoka: "i won't leave you, not this time"
Vader: "then you will die"
Also that split mask scene was defo inspired by the ahsoka/vader fight but it was amazing to see with Hayden and in live action
This was my favorite part aswell. Especially since Liam Neeson has been adamant about him not appearing in this serie from the start.
Its the perfect ending for Obi-wan considering that he now has company and doesnt have to spend the rest of his time (up to ANH) alone.
Ikr. And Vader will end up destroying planets and kill millions of people lmao
Edit: lmao okay guys, I get it. Tarkin is the one controlling the Death Star, even though Vader technically outranked him.
I mean, I blame Alderaan on Tarkin, not Vader directly. Vader is just implicit in the action, but it likely would have happened without him there anyway.
But yeah he does still go on to kill a bunch more people anyway.
I honestly love it. It's part of Obi-wan flaw as a character. He can never kill Anakin, he loves him to much. Even after admitting that anakin is dead by calling him "Darth". He still couldn't strike down his former patawan.
Hearing Obi Wan tell Leia about her parents right after he just fought Vader, put some tears in my eyes. I think Obi-Wan’s separated Vader and Anakin as different people, and so he’s fighting for Anakin at this point. I think he lets him go as an act of “mercy” and because he knows it’s not his destiny to kill Vader and because the Emperor would’ve probably found him and Luke.
the lighting on vaders open mask is absolutely amazing. it’s lit by obi wans blue as he explains anakin and his voice is mostly his own. and is covered in red as vaders digital voice enhances and exclaims he will destroy obi wan. it’s just fantastic
I have also watched this particular scene several time and had a lot of feelings.
Loved when Obi-Wan busted out from under the rocks too. I was like “ohhhh, watch your ass Vader, you made him mad”
That whole fight was perfection.
Watching ANH you'd never think to yourself Beru and Lars were once at a point of "We'll fight a lightsaber wielding Inquisitor to protect Luke".
Makes me see them in a whole new light. Deserved better than execution by a Stormtrooper squad.
Granted by then they were really old. Tatooine has not been kind to them thats for sure.
My headcannon after this is that they put up a fight and was eventually overwhelmed.
My headcannon is that they blew the place up themselves to take out the rest of the squad after getting overwhelmed.
You can't tell me Owen didn't go out to the city and stock up on weapons after this
When Beru just pulled out some guns/blasters I was like, we’ll okay then. You guys are actually cool, not just “obligatory child raisers”. Also, I now accept that they fought to the end in new hope, and there are several stormtroopers who were confused and shocked to say the least.
This show did to A New Hope what the clone wars did to Revenge of the Sith. Order 66 is enhanced by the Clone Wars, and finding Owen and Berry dead is enhanced by Kenobi.
Wonder if Vader blames himself for Padme and hence takes the credit for killing Anakin, until he meets his children and realizes he still has good in him
This is what goes round in my head when I think of Vader/Anakin. Does he really see himself as two separate identities and thus acts out of hate for the Jedi and for the man who was Anakin, or deep down does he know it’s still him and this is all fuelled by self-hatred and because he has nothing left
When Vader said "you didny kill Anakin Skywalker... I did"
I swear on my life i think he was grinning and that made it so creepy and shot shivers down my spine. But also just sad to see how evil and insane he has become
Currently re-evaluating just how strong Obi-Wan could be considered at his peak.
The Inquisitors piss their pants when it comes to Vader, they're laughably outmatched. Cal Kestis and Cere survived him which was victory enough. Obi-Wan can straight up beat Vader and he also cut down Maul rapidly.
I guess he's still a clear tier below Yoda, Palpatine and Windu but damn maybe he's closer to them than you'd think.
I always attribute this in my head due to Dooku being Qui-Gon’s master. He may have known all the moves Obi wan was about to do. Same as Obi-wan fighting Anakin.
Plus he's an avid user and probably galaxy-tier master of dueling lightsaber form Makashi, the most effective counter against Obi-Wan's defensive Soresu.
I think it's hard to compare the Anakin/Obi-Wan match up with anything else. The fact Obi-Wan taught Anakin everything he knows will always give him an advantage even though Anakin is clearly stronger.
I was also really surprised to see such a strong Obi-Wan but I think they just wanted to emphasize that his hope makes him powerful and that he in contrast to Vader has something to fight for.
Yea what Palpatine said at the end about him being weak because he still cant get over his master is probably why he lost the fight.
We know Vader turns good eventually so maybe along the way he wrestles with it and thats why hes got such a horrible batting average. Like he aint about to kill Luke in their first encounter.
To quote yoda, if so strong you are why leave?
Also explained why Vader is so cautious when he fights kenobi again on the Death Star. Vader also used Obiwans trick against Luke in a new hope, just tossing shit at him.
Obi-Wan is an emotional weak spot for Vader and that was exploited. As enraged as he was, he was still opening himself up to vulnerability. If Palpatine is telling him to move on then that's a clear indicator that his personal vendetta isn't actually making him any stronger and is ultimately pointless.
Probably a good explanation for why Vader was so calm in ANH too. He'd moved past it and he didn't care to make him suffer anymore.
Kenobi at his peak power could probably have challenged nearly any other jedi past and present so to speak.
It is hinted at and alluded to several times throughout the SW saga that Kenobi was one of the most powerful jedi who ever lived.
I really wanted Obi-Wan to take Vaders hand in that fight.
Holy cow, has Obi-Wan ever been this strong in The Force before now? Peppering Vader with boulders was hype.
I'm excited for all the new meme templates.
A very good episode, I love the last duel
Vader
Anakin
Palpatin
Qui gon
So much fan service
However I still think Reva should have been dead last ep. Not teleport around
Reva is the ONLY weak link of this whole episode. I can see what they were going for with her character but something about the execution through the series was just… off. Definitely something about the writing, I think Moses Ingram is doing a good job.
Everything else in the episode? Wonderful. This is easily my favorite episode of the show.
I wonder if anakin was trying to absolve Obi-Wans guilt by telling him he didn't "kill him"?
But either way, Obi is finally at peace and thus able to connect with qui-gon. God it was perfect.
No, I don’t think he’s absolving him at all. In Vaders twisted mind he’s trying not to let obi wan have credit for it. Vader wants everything to be the result of his own will, because he sees everything that happened to Anakin as the result of him being powerless
The duel between Obi and Anakin gave me chills, especially when Obi sees anakin or what’s left of him through the broken elm, the emotions in Ewan’s eyes are just incredible… wow, marvelous episode
Something I love is that the Vader/Anakin mix scene went to show that Hayden had Vader’s speech patterns down.
If you watch the prequels he speaks this way. A lot of people complained it made his speech seem stiff but that’s what Hayden was going for, so that the way Vader speaks in the OT made sense in conjunction with the PT.
This was the first time we could see just how well Hayden did.
I had a great question the whole episode: >! I don't understand why Reeva wanted to kill Luke in order to bring justice. Is that because he is Vader's son? When did she discover that? !<
This tied up the whole canon pre ANH so well. Leila is safe, Luke is safe, Vader was defeated again and has been leashed by the emperor to ignore Obi-Wan.
So now we have so much opportunity to explore Obi’s Jedi adventures up until he gets too old and retires back on Tatooine.
I think the scene with the emperor was important. A point people would of said without it was why Vader wasn’t going full on empire strikes back either the probe droids and now we know. The emperor knows that this is Vader’s weakness and so wants to discourage it.
If Ewan and Hayden want a season 2 so much and everyone wants more of them (because it ended on such a good note that idk where they can make another story), at this point just make live action Clone Wars. Boom, everyone's happy.
I just don’t understand how she survived all that in the end. I thought the hate and anger was keeping her alive, which that makes sense. Then she’s gives all that up and comes to the light, but doesn’t succumb to her wounds? It makes Qui-Gon’s death look dumb now
I'm glad we FINALLY got the "rematch of the century" that was promised. Up until the finale I thought that they overhyped that whole fight.
And I appreciate the added (but still not needed) context to Obi Wan calling him "Darth" in A New Hope
There's a lot of things said about Obi-Wan, Qui-gon and Palps already but personally I love that they gave us a badass Beru Whitesun. I'm glad that we're shown, in a way, that this woman fought against slavery, and was the one who helped Shmi achieve her freedom.
But the way the blue light from the saber actually shows Anakin's eyes (iris and all) and that little smirk he has when Vader says "he killed Anakin" in the mixed voice was so creepy good.
It was great seeing Vader get beaten, real cathartic.
Nice seeing Kenobi's power 'unleashed' also.
But, we absolutely have to get a Kenobi and Qui Gon series, or film, or anything.
Did *anyone* see that last scene and not think *"I need more of that"*?
Looks like Grievous chose the wrong career path Should have been a farmer on Tatooine. Just let the lightsabers come to him
Ah, a lightsaber comment! Your comment will make a fine addition to my collection, ZDMads!
Normal kids: finds dildos and thinks they’re lightsabers Luke: finds lightsabers and thinks they’re dildos
Seeing Ian Mcdiarmid in updated ep 6 makeup makes me very happy, that smile too was perfect.
Great thing about that it doesn’t matter how old he gets because he just needs less makeup
Until the day there’s a Sheev flashback.
A young Sheev show with Plagueis would be soo good. I love the books.
I love that Ian McDiarmid is basically always up for playing Palpatine.
Same for Liam neeson as qui gon given that he’s also gonna return for tales of the Jedi
Most beings in the galaxy do not kill without purpose. If you can discover what that purpose is, you can forestall a battle.
He's returning for the voice? Love it!
How they switched from James Earl Jones' to Hayden's voice was so terrific
But it’s even cooler how they didn’t merely switch. You can hear both Hayden and Jones’ voice the entire time because Vader is still talking through his helmet but the opening lets you hear his actual voice. But yeah you hear more of his actual voice at first because he’s trying to fight the Anakin within him. I also love how the scene adds validity to what Ben told Luke. Vader *told* him that he killed Anakin Skywalker.
Yeah, that whole confrontation...just top notch stuff.
Hayden legit owned it
Also when there's a blue light at vader's face for a moment when he talks of Ani and it again changes to red was such a mind blowing cinematography
Vader claiming responsibility for killing Anakin tying in to what Obi Wan tells Luke at the start of ANH was a nice touch.
And then calling him Darth was also a nice tie in
And then leaving him alive so he could be in those films was a master stroke
He could've saved millions of lives but nah Obie too sad to kill..
I knew almost for certain that line was coming. I expected it to be more in jest though. I didn't expect it to be so heartbreaking.
The smile on his face is so sinister it almost feels predatory. He's enjoying seeing Obi Wan in pain feeling that there is nothing left of his friend, his brother is now dead in his eyes and this monster he helped create is fueling Vader's hatred.
“So what I told you was true, from a certain point of view” makes so much more sense now
It adds so much more depth to the line because the certain point of view is Luke’s father’s.
Obi-Wan is like "thanks, I'm gonna use that line later on".
FINALLY SOME IMPERIAL MARCH !!!
And the force theme!!
And Leia's theme!
>!HELLO THERE! !<
How does it feel for Obi Wan Kenobi’s canonical first words to Luke Skywalker in official Star Wars on screen live action canon to be the result of this subreddit existing
Like we are strong and wise and I am very proud of us
How does it feel when obi wan does his famous lightsaber stance (Form III/ Soresu)
Ah, a lightsaber comment! Your comment will make a fine addition to my collection, Great_Spring_4078!
I mean...it's also what he said to him first in A New Hope, so, yeah it's a meme thing but "Hello there" itself is a callback.
He said it to R2 but yeah, wasn’t the first time he said in it Luke’s presence
Before today the first thing Obi Wan says in Luke's presence is "OooOOoaahh"
The moment he said it, I felt it. The force of millions of nerds shitting and cumming at the same time. I know; I was one of them.
I choked on my coffee, I was not expecting it.
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one
I was like that Leonardo Dicaprio meme pointing at the TV all like "Ah! Ah! He said the thing!"
He said the thing! The thing he says! Edit: actual quote was “that’s the thing the internet likes” https://youtu.be/WajEW5HPnuw
[My reaction](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/039/244/vhc.jpg)
Hearing Anakin and Vaders voice mixed together was the highlight of the episode for me.
Yeah the OBI WAN at the end sounded great
It definitely had “KENOBIEAAHHHH” vibes to it
We need to mix them together to make OOOOOOBBBBIIIIII WAAANNNNN KENOOOOBBBBIIII!
Ohhhh perfect just perfect...
Let's hope someone with editing skills graces us with their presence
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeiCMrg3lE4
You legend thank you. One suggestion I have is hold the OOOOBBBBIII WWAAAANNN for a bit longer
“Anakin’s gone. I’m what remains” sounded so sad and defeated 😭
same goosebumps as "I am what you made me" back in ep. 3
Gave me chills it was kinda scary
That's twice now that Vader has had his helmet cut open by someone from his past then had to state that Anakin Skywalker is gone by his hand. I enjoyed it the second time around too. Also seeing Obi-Wan call Vader 'Darth' was a good nod to their (presumably) next meeting on the Death Star.
Ahh yes, “only a master of evil, Darth” makes it so much better
People are getting angry about it not being original but how else would we see his face and hear his voice in that context? It's not as if the first time was live action either. I have zero problems with it and thought it looked incredible.
It’s honestly better with him calling Anakin darth, it explains why he calls him it in ANH since Anakin is “dead”
>I didn't see the animated version of Anakin through the broken mask Admitting you've not watched Rebels is a brave stance to take around here.
I’ve seen people make the point that Obi-Wan and Ahsoka both took a different side of Vaders helmet away and couldn’t bring Anakin back but only Luke takes his whole helmet off him to restore Anakin
It's like poetry, it rhymes
Eh when I first read the leaks, I wasn't too hyped about that detail, but I loved the way they pulled it off, with Kenobi slicing the left side open, while Ahsoka hits the right side.
I did not expect to see the Senate again But it was gud
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
Tbh eps 5 and 6 hit way harder than the rest
I’m convinced we really watched a movie in 6 parts.
For logical reasons, Palpatine returned
He is the Senate.
Not yet.
It's been 10 years and he is still not the Senate
The best part of the episode was Vader's voice changing when talking to Obi Wan
His eyes changing to yellow was so bad ass
The light reflecting off his helmet going from blue/purple to red was a nice touch too.
With his back against the wall, and no high ground in sight, Obi-Wan opted to make the ground higher. It’s enough to make a man cry.
When vader put him in the pit I was like 'uh oh he's given Kenobi the inverse high ground'...
I was waiting for a "Look at who has the high ground now, master" comment or something along those lines. Would've been cheesy as hell, but I would have loved every moment of it
No no no, it would check given his "Now I'm the Master" line in ANH - lets not forget that Anakin's petty as shit.
Silly Vader, he merely adopted the high ground, Obj-Wan was born in it, molded by it, he didn’t see the low ground until he was a man but by then it was nothing to him but low
He should have jumped up and “mauled” him.
The way Ewan’s eyes tearing up, his voice breaking and Hayden’s voice transitioning between Anakin and Vader…I am going to cry over this for the next ten years. This is just perfect. I want more and I know I shouldn’t.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't rewind to that part atleast 10 times
Dude, i love it so much. Im fulfilled *I will do what i must* *You will ~~try~~ die*
Also similar do what he says to ahsoka Ahsoka: "i won't leave you, not this time" Vader: "then you will die" Also that split mask scene was defo inspired by the ahsoka/vader fight but it was amazing to see with Hayden and in live action
Also.. we now know how Vader got that massive scar on his face in RotJ.
Its like poetry
it rhymes
I was just happy seeing Qui-Gon Jinn return. Seeing as Yoda was going to teach Obi-Wan to see Qui-Gon was a nice nod.
This was my favorite part aswell. Especially since Liam Neeson has been adamant about him not appearing in this serie from the start. Its the perfect ending for Obi-wan considering that he now has company and doesnt have to spend the rest of his time (up to ANH) alone.
I feel like I have been waiting for qui gon to return for 20 years so I’m glad we finally got him back
Well we actually waited over 20 years for Qui-Gon to return
Qui-Gon: *returns* The entire fandom: "You're as beautiful as the day we lost you."
When Vader said, "I am not your failure, obi-wan. you didn't kill anakin skywalker. i did." I cried a little
“So I what I told you was true, from a certain point of view”
D e e p e s t L o r e
I liked this because it actually lifted the weight of that responsibility and guilt off of Kenobi's shoulders
Yes and no, he still won’t kill him..and Vader has killed many…
I cried a lot
Obi-Wan did Starkiller level damage to Vader, holy shit
He clearly could have killed him, but this time he just walked away. IDK how I feel about that
Ikr. And Vader will end up destroying planets and kill millions of people lmao Edit: lmao okay guys, I get it. Tarkin is the one controlling the Death Star, even though Vader technically outranked him.
including the Organas, whoops
Whoopsie!
So you got a new Star Wars show for me?
I mean, I blame Alderaan on Tarkin, not Vader directly. Vader is just implicit in the action, but it likely would have happened without him there anyway. But yeah he does still go on to kill a bunch more people anyway.
I honestly love it. It's part of Obi-wan flaw as a character. He can never kill Anakin, he loves him to much. Even after admitting that anakin is dead by calling him "Darth". He still couldn't strike down his former patawan.
Facing Vader will never be not personal for Kenobi. That's why he can't strike him down, doing it will put him too much at the mercy of the Dark Side.
LOLA sitting in Leia's holster was the icing on the cake for me, at the end of this scene!!
the lighting on vaders open mask is absolutely amazing. it’s lit by obi wans blue as he explains anakin and his voice is mostly his own. and is covered in red as vaders digital voice enhances and exclaims he will destroy obi wan. it’s just fantastic
HE SAID IT, HE SAID THE LINE! Prequel memes is gonna be a goldmine the next few days hahah
*Days?!*
We're gonna blue milk this baby for all it's worth.
More like years
The year is 2047, prequelmemes members still receive hundreds of fake Internet points for posting "Hello there"
We memed the exact same movies for around 20 years now, this will last us for 30 more at least
The split mask scene was insane. Wish I had seen that in theatres.
I had waited for that exact encounter for 17 years, fuck me I played it back 3 times and got teary eyed
I have also watched this particular scene several time and had a lot of feelings. Loved when Obi-Wan busted out from under the rocks too. I was like “ohhhh, watch your ass Vader, you made him mad” That whole fight was perfection.
Watching ANH you'd never think to yourself Beru and Lars were once at a point of "We'll fight a lightsaber wielding Inquisitor to protect Luke". Makes me see them in a whole new light. Deserved better than execution by a Stormtrooper squad.
When they said we’re enough and he is my own it made me love them even more
Those lines gave me chills! Spoke volumes for those characters and how much they cared for Luke
Good soldiers follow orders. \*sob\*
They definitely took out a bunch with them
I mean there isn't a lot of them left when Luke finds them, so they clearly didn't lose an even fight.
Everyone's talking about "Hello there" but no ones talking about "I will do what I must"
And his battle stance
I won't lie I cummed at the stance
Wonder if Vader blames himself for Padme and hence takes the credit for killing Anakin, until he meets his children and realizes he still has good in him
*OH, Ani*
Lmao
This is what goes round in my head when I think of Vader/Anakin. Does he really see himself as two separate identities and thus acts out of hate for the Jedi and for the man who was Anakin, or deep down does he know it’s still him and this is all fuelled by self-hatred and because he has nothing left
All that internal conflict and uncertainty is exactly what makes Vader such a compelling villain
Obi-Wan telling Leia how much she’s like Anakin and Padme had me teary
[удалено]
When Vader said "you didny kill Anakin Skywalker... I did" I swear on my life i think he was grinning and that made it so creepy and shot shivers down my spine. But also just sad to see how evil and insane he has become
I got that impression too! I was like "yoo--is he SMILING?!" That was creepy AF
Hayden was perfect this whole show
Hello there!
*me watching and doing leo dicaprio meme*: he said the thing!
The way palps was looking at vader in the end like: ”this bitch really lost to Kenobi again”
As an Irishman, seeing my boi Qui-Gon again felt especially good
For the first time I realize my qui-gon is to me what obi-wan is to the OT. Hearing him say “Obi-wan” once again was amazing
the politeness in Ben's voice when he says "goodbye, Darth" is borderline devastating.
Well I mean, sith lords are his specialty
Except Dooku. Dooku has always been Obi Wans Kryptonite
*signature look of superiority*
beard
I always attribute this in my head due to Dooku being Qui-Gon’s master. He may have known all the moves Obi wan was about to do. Same as Obi-wan fighting Anakin.
plus he was just stronger in the force. only real people who could beat Dooku were Yoda, Palps, Anakin and Mace (cause Vaapad)
The scene emphasized Obi Wan reconnecting with the force (making him stronger) and Vader still struggling with the past (making him weaker)
Yea what Palpatine said at the end about him being weak because he still cant get over his master is probably why he lost the fight. We know Vader turns good eventually so maybe along the way he wrestles with it and thats why hes got such a horrible batting average. Like he aint about to kill Luke in their first encounter. I was like “I’m done crying let’s continue” and then SOMETHING ELSE happens and I was crying again
I really wanted Obi-Wan to take Vaders hand in that fight. Holy cow, has Obi-Wan ever been this strong in The Force before now? Peppering Vader with boulders was hype. I'm excited for all the new meme templates.
He was also this in-sync with the force when he fought Grievous on the Invisible Hand.
HELLO THERE
A very good episode, I love the last duel Vader Anakin Palpatin Qui gon So much fan service However I still think Reva should have been dead last ep.
How the hell does a character survive being stabbed by Vader twice in their life lol.
Turns out that Vader is just really bad at stabbing people lmao
That is why he choose a swinging motion in his last duel with Obi-Wan
Yeah, nobody really appreciates the way Hayden did that. I think he's a better actor than most people give him credit for.
I will do what I must
Qui Gon coming back made my wife cry. What a universe this is.
The entire show was to set up the fact that his first words to luke were "HELLO THERE" AND I LOVE IT
SC38 reimagined
I had a great question the whole episode: >! I don't understand why Reeva wanted to kill Luke in order to bring justice. Is that because he is Vader's son? When did she discover that? !<
Apparently And since Vader was the one that destroyed her life, she wanted to take that away from him that he would cherish His son
I mean shit, Vader is lucky to survive two ass beatings by Obi-Wan. Palpatine is doing him a solid by telling him to focus on other things
Master Kenobi always said there’s no such thing as luck.
If Ewan and Hayden want a season 2 so much and everyone wants more of them (because it ended on such a good note that idk where they can make another story), at this point just make live action Clone Wars. Boom, everyone's happy.
Reva’s ending is so open, it’s painfully obvious they set up her spinoff
“You think you can protect them from me?“ Did not expect a payoff for that line. Fuck yea; Owen and Beru rule
It was great. I'm now watching ANH again. Episode was pure fanservice
I will do what I must.
But the way the blue light from the saber actually shows Anakin's eyes (iris and all) and that little smirk he has when Vader says "he killed Anakin" in the mixed voice was so creepy good.
I like how they finally acknowledged the reason Kenobi calls him “Darth” in the original Movie, but it’s overshadowed by a meme
I saw the "hello there" from a mile away and I still just about cheered. Also, Obi-Wan seeing Anakin was a tear-jerker.
It was great seeing Vader get beaten, real cathartic. Nice seeing Kenobi's power 'unleashed' also. But, we absolutely have to get a Kenobi and Qui Gon series, or film, or anything. Did *anyone* see that last scene and not think *"I need more of that"*?
"Anakin is gone, I am what remains."
