Actually be stoked if I heard they were re-doing the last two seasons of Game of Thrones. And that got me into thinking about the prequels too. GoT would have to turn the last two seasons into something much more layered, albeit longer, but still keeping the same plot as GRRM possibly intended
I’m just thinking about the concept of a “re-do movie, or tv show”.
I mean, they’re gonna run out of ideas in Hollywood *any day now*, right?? Right? /s.
Someday someone’s gonna have the movie rights and gusto to try it on a series that had a lot more potential and still had the actors looking the same as they did (as long as the acting wasn’t the issue of course).
They actually did use quite a few practical effects and miniatures. I know the whole podracing audience was a miniature with q-tips painted different colors for the spectators. I think the problem is that a lot of the cgi they did use was not very good so you can clearly tell.
Well, the CGI of the prequels was new and revolutionary at the time. This is why they became known for it. They actually used a lot of practical effects and miniatures.
Similarly, the movement of models like the AT-AT is not completely smooth, but I wouldn't say that the effects of the OT were bad. For the time, it was amazing. It's the same with the cgi used in the prequels.
I’ve got a Republic Commando helmet from them. Great quality but the DC-17 I got from them took a ton of work to get it to fit together. Woodchucks was much easier to get ready for trooping

It would’ve looked terrible. So much of the cinematography from 2 and 3 wouldn’t have worked with practical effects

It's not. Some person made this as a real costume with clever effects. The person is actually mostly in the cape itself from what I remember.

The blew air at the w tips from underneath to simulate crowd movement and it worked so well.
