He wasn't " snubbed", he failed, by his own choice to qualify, by leaving sanctioned merit based professional golf to play exhibitions in an obscure league that is out TV rated by pro rodeo and the WNBA, and which gives away tickets and draws a handful of people.

It is a weird time right now. While you're point is valid, I think it's fair to say the majors may not be getting the best of the best fields anymore. Gooch is a great player and probably "deserves" to play at Augusta. There's definitely going to be some kind of "merger" at some point but right now no one knows what the hell is going on.

Talor Gooch is the 40th ranked player on DataGolf and has never finished higher than T14 in a major. He’s a fine enough player, but it’s honestly embarrassing and insanely cringe to hear him talk like the Masters will have an asterisk without him being there…
I’m not even saying that he doesn’t deserve to be there. It’s just that, if he were added to the field tomorrow, no one’s odds would change. So the asterisk claim is absurd, and I feel embarrassed for him that he said that.
(Tbf Gooch’s past public comments seem to indicate that he is one of the lowest-IQ athletes across all sports. It’s astounding. Just a breathtakingly stupid guy. This just adds to that.)

That they haven't yet is just as absurd, but makes complete sense given who is on the board despite a total conflict of interest. However if a merger goes through I think we'll see that change pretty quickly.
1. The board members of the OWGR who had a conflict of interest recused themselves from the decision. That’s not a real argument.
2. The OWGR presented LIV with areas where they fell short and left the door open to ranking points if they took action to address them. LIV has actively refused to do so. OWGR, in their response, seemed to honestly think that LIV would set course for ranking points after tweaking some things. Instead, it is LIV that is refusing to play ball.
3. OWGR will not “compromise on the rankings,” because there is no mathematic way to compromise. It’s the same small field every week playing the same small number of holes, with zero intraleague parity, zero qualifying process, and a minuscule amount of golf played against outside golfers. PLUS players often have a monetary interest in how guys in their threesome perform, posing massive integrity concerns. It’s obviously unrankable with OWGR’s current methodology.
With only a very exceptions, the LIV tour has been able to identify and sign the absolute dumbest people from the golf world. The average IQ on LIV has to be 20 points below the PGA Tour. And that’s saying something considering the tour average.

1. The fields in the pga tour (including the masters) ARE weaker since so many great players on LIV don’t have an avenue to qualify.
