I’m so old I remember when they used to just copypasta the paragraph from Wikipedia, complete with wiki links intact, into their paper. And they wondered how I busted them…

I’ve seen ones with footnote numbers—of course, no actual footnote, and the footnote numbering mysteriously begins with “35.”
