Iirc shes opening up to more people, like shizuku in “draw your bow in a white world”, and emu def senses her smiles are fake. She does genuinely smile at emu sometimes. I havent read all the event stories so im not sure but those are thr two that jump to mind
You’re correct about Emu!! Tho, iirc, Shizuku only provides support to Mafuyu when she needs it.
However she has opened up to Rui {and Nene?} in the darkfes event about her future, about how she doesn’t know what she wants to do or something along those lines. That’s the only event that I remember her opening up to anyone but N25
All this while, it was more of her perception that even if people outside of N25 knew about her struggles, they wouldn't be able to do much to help her, hence the 'model student' facade
Certain characters already knew subtle hints that she is depressed or going through alot, such as Emu & Shizuku in school, Rui in 2022 Colorfest and most recently, Honami when she goes to K's house and finds Mafuyu there.

yes, she's masking most times when she's around most people. To be fair, that makes her more realistic. That's just how depressed people go through life and connections (I'm mfs)

And the first N25 event is About her finally fully opening to N25
I have seen one case where she acts like herself with Emu and it's a scene where she's wishing her a happy birthday and tells her she doesn't have to force herself to smile
