Peabody77

Gotta be a healthcare worker and a dementia patient. I get some at work sometimes. Dude tired to spit on me but I had on full ppe lol

McLaren4life

Yup, looks like a PSW. I used to volunteer in palliative care at my wifes hospital until a patient flung her feces at me. After that I just waited in the car for 2 hours until my wife shift was over.

marsianer

That's when I'd make that bitch Miss Minny's famous chocolate pie.

[deleted]

i feel bad for those dementia patients. i have heard of sweet old people turning into nasty goblins due to their condition

ThreeKnuckShuff1

My girlfriend has terrible stories about working with dementia patients - I think the worst was a father endlessly commenting on his daughters tits, and making advances towards her every time she came to visit.

photobummer

Your girlfriend worked in the White House?

[deleted]

DesturaTox

Dang that didnā€™t take long! šŸ˜‚

jayce504

Medical technology allows people to far outlive their dignity. That isnā€™t a good thing.

MrStruggleCuddle

The vast majority of current medical research into life extending medicine are now focused on extending quality of life over actual lifespan.

Intelligent-donkey

To bad that euthanasia laws in most countries haven't caught up to that more sensible approach.

saintofhate

It brings me no joy that I'll eventually have to help my mum to her rest as all the end of life options for her are abusive shitholes and she never wants that.

xxUsernameMichael

Itā€™s a clichĆ© to say, ā€œOh, if that ever happens to me, please kill me before I act like that.ā€ But I think that I really do feel this way. There is nothing in the world that could compel me to treat another human being that way. If my mind and brain were in such distress that I did behave in this manner, I can truly say that I would not want to live. I couldnā€™t imagine my inflicting any indignity and cruelty on another. And, I donā€™t want to forget to say: the healthcare worker in the video is an absolute saint. Such patience, tolerance for the sick, and such grace.

qaz_wsx_love

sweet old grandma remembering the good old days when black people weren't allowed to be in the same room as them /s

Pendraggin

I've seen people I love go through Alzheimer's. I know you're joking, but dementia is not regression/cognitive time travel. It's really easy to see a nasty looking old lady spitting on a black woman and only see it for what it is; an utterly deplorable, likely racist act of aggression -- but assuming this lady actually does have dementia that act isn't necessarily in line with who they used to be, how they used to act, or how they used to think. Dementia kills you long before you're dead. This video shows that the lady being spat on is a fucking saint and could probably use some support, but that doesn't mean the old lady is necessarily "bad" -- at least not the person that's trapped inside.

vettechrockstar86

My grandpa had some serious goblin moments as his Alzhiemers got worse. I remember once he thought my dad was keeping him from seeing my grandma (she had passed away months before) and so he punched my father, his son, in the face. First time I ever saw my dad cry. And this was a man who spent his life in the church, helping anyone he could and spreading love everywhere he went. But as his health declined so did his personality and memories. I'd have to assume a big reason for this video was to show the family so that they can see that it's at the point that they need to start looking for a home for her so she has around the clock care from workers who will be with her constantly, with doctors and nurses on site if needed. Its a hard conversation to have with the family and sometimes you have to show them things like this so they understand that its just time. My heart goes out to these families. The workers and the patients.

Loadedbig

Yeah Iā€™ve known ones that still had their true heart deep down but became very rotten almost all the time

[deleted]

It's the medication, at one point my grandfather, started having mental breakdowns, accusing my grandmother of being unfaithful and saying he is packing his bags and leaving. They were both nearing their 80s and have been married close to 60 years. Messing around with the right combination of meds helps a lot but needs experimenting.

HookerFace81

Definitely dementia. I cared for my grandma and her twin. They were mean as hell and hated wearing clothes.. it was a wild, sad, and funny at times situation. I say funny, because we had to make the best of what was going on and roll with it. One liked to hit on my dad and take her bra off, and the other tried stabbing me with a fork while pregnant..

KingUzzo

Guy tried to bite me without teeth once lmao

just_a_sec_plz

Letā€™s hope thatā€™s it. Probably so.

Aerik

My thoughts as well.

IDreamofHeeney

That is a level of self control I could only dream of having. Massive respect to her for not even saying anything

bomphcheese

I mean, she wasnā€™t going to record herself losing control. Sheā€™s probably going to show it to her boss to get away from that patient.

IDreamofHeeney

You may be right. Although if someone is spitting in your face and acting that way I can guarantee you most people would atleast say something, video or not that kind of self control is commendable

EyeH8uxinfiniteplus1

This is likely being recorded because it's been going on for some time. They'd probably gone round and round, and she's probably been reported too. No doubt she plays the "I'm just a sweet old lady" routine if she's ever confronted by a boss. That all being said, it would have been so satisfying to see her get the taste slapped out of her mouth.

[deleted]

Apply for job at dementia ward. Slap patients for having dementia.

EyeH8uxinfiniteplus1

Is that the case here in the video?

bobojorge

Looks like an assisted living facility

[deleted]

It looks like it yes

yungchow

This looks to me like a mobile nurse that either has multiple patients or stays with this one.

McBossly

Agreed.

berning_man

Looks like that to me also. My father had dementia. He didn't go mean like this gal though... he went horny and inappropriate AF. Every woman he'd see there was a comment for: "Hey I like your tits!" "How about we play hide the salami little cutie?" Even to people he'd known before the dementia and respected, like the nurse in the doctors office - loudly to me while following her: "I bet she has some gooooood pussy!" I'd just look at whatever woman he'd just insulted, tap my head and say one word... sorry.

SnooPickles288

that's an interesting ethical dilemma, I would dance around on for a while.

[deleted]

To be fair, the old lady does have that "look" about her. She probably doesn't know where, or when she is. While normal conditioning would have anyone boiling in rage over this, the woman probably isn't fully in control of her mind.

Kcreep997

How fucking stupid you are if you don't see that it's a dementia patient, they really can't control themselves when it's far enough you know.

[deleted]

If that elderly woman has dementia or a cognitive impairment all that reaction is 100% useless wasted effort.

c-dy

Wouldn't it be better to still talk to her rather follow that stiff routine? Also, if the video was meant to document her behavior for professional or medical reasons, I wonder why that video is now public.

kastahejsvej

what would talking do?

SnooPickles288

if you beat her ass, at least she would forget after.

[deleted]

You donā€™t beat people for having a mental health issue, you try to use compassion.

Funfoil_Hat

aight, you beat her ass, then what? lose your job and get jailed for assaulting an old hag just because she thinks she's still in the 1800's and owns you? granny is like 200, what do you expect from people who grew up using the n-word as a scientific term? she's already in hell, why bother with violence when you're the one with a functional brain? when dealing with dementia, just move on. take joy in doing normal people shit, because she sure as hell can't.

AllMyBeets

I've had instances where I was warned that the client wasn't allowed the phone bc she'd call the cops and say you were abusing her. Dementia is mean.

trademarcs

Then posting it online, which is a massive HIPAA violation

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Dayofsloths

Yep, this is why the field isn't suitable for a lot of people.

PainTitan

Right? BLM.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

HennaArist

You just got a 60 second glimps into the life of caring for someone with dementia. Iā€™m a second generation alzheimers caregiver. Many times, depending on the form of dementia, people who were never racist or cursed a day in their life start saying all kinds of things. People are all like Iā€™m so sorry youā€™re moms gonna forget who you are, I laugh because that is literally the easiest part of caring for someone with dementia. They can be the sweetest most caring person all your life and dementia can turn them so mean and nasty.

austinmo2

I hope I can euthanize myself if that is going to happen to me. It seems like they are basically gone at that point.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

97RallyWagon

What? Like 2020 in Georgia with the mass hysterectomies performed without the consent of any of the patients?

[deleted]

It's at this point that I believe we should be letting people fucking die. I would want to fucking die rather than be allowed to devolve to this point. Take me out to the back and put me down like ol yeller.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

arcsolarvoidblast

The brain is damaged

xamateb

My grandmother got dementia. She was the sweetest lady. She took care of me a lot when I was a kid. She had a rough life and I could tell she just wanted to make her grandchildren happy. After she got sick. My Dad took me to see her. She saw me and immediately started screaming at me to leave and throwing things and calling me horrible names. And saying ā€œno youā€™re dead, youā€™re fucking dead, go awayā€ Oddly one of the things that stuck in her memory was she took care of my Uncle when he was dying of cancer. And I look a lot like my uncle when he had his hair. It terrified her and sadly I never saw her again because my presence traumatized her. I saw her at her funeral years later. I miss her a lot.

NephtisSeibzehn

That woman is a saint. I hope she can use that video to get a raise or something. You could tell she looked at her and seriously weighed how much she wanted to keep that job vs punching the shit out of her. Healthcare workers really are underappreciated.

Candid-Cobbler

she won't get a raise, they intentionally understaff and underpay and there is constant turnover. i worked in a nursing home. she's smarter than to punch the shit out of her with a camera rolling. i'd like to think she is professional, but you have no idea what happens when the camera is off, and nobody cares. where i worked most of the residents were racist as fuck, its one of the reasons i quit. they don't pay enough in my opinion to have racists throw literal shit at you. i made more money delivering pizzas.

TheKokoMoko

Thatā€™s really sad to hear, especially when the nursing homes around me take literally every asset the resident has. I assume most of it goes to the top brass instead of making the lives of the residents and the employees better.

btopia

Dementia

juntawflo

Old people would have dementia, Alzheimer, Parkinson and all that but will never forget to be racist hun ?

CASSIROLE84

My grandpa had dementia and behaved like this towards his own family. My grandma would take it so personal at first and then learned to live with it. Dementia is the absolute worst way to go.

[deleted]

Don't know the whole context, but I didn't necessarily see anything racist in this clip - ya the caregiver was black and she was white, but in a LOT of cases when it comes to things like dementia it's far more anti-authoritive than anything else. She could still be racist AF though too. I don't know.

captainramen

I personally would like to know what the 23andMe threshold is before an encounter is automatically deemed racist

Boines

Hey man, my grandma was black (from st lucia), had a stroke, deteriorated mentally and had dementia. She complained that the nurse looking after her was black. She wouldnt listen much when we tried to tell her that she was also black. The mind is a crazy thing.

btopia

People do weird things when they are absent of mind.

marz4-13

Iā€™ve seen people act like this to their family members due to Alzheimerā€™s and dementia.. nothing from this video can be classified as racist unless you have more context.

juntawflo

From the twitter post, she was abusive like that with the caregiver then continued once place in retirement home exclusively towards POC. But, it's funny you guys always have excuses on deck " too young too understand " "she has mental issues that make people racist " " she is too old, has dementia"

[deleted]

I hope you never have to deal with an elderly family member suffering from dementia. If you did then you would understand.

LailahTusik

Was that the purpose of your post? To point out racism where itā€™s clearly dementia? Talk about being brainwashed.

[deleted]

I've had white people with dementia spit at me. I'm also white.

cathedral68

My grandma turned mean in her dementia. She wasnā€™t the nicest while she still had her mind and the dementia seemed to strip away all her learned societal behaviors so she was just an angry toddler by the end. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if this lady was racist all her life and now canā€™t remember to not behave like this. It sad, and bless the other woman for behaving like a saint.

UlfMonster

Give this lady a raise. What patience, I'm sure the old lady has dementia or something but I couldn't take that. I'd walk out

EbeeWhite

Give the person filming patients with a neurological disorder a raise. Thats a no from me.

UlfMonster

Hmmm - C.Y.O.A. Cover Your Own Ass She's recording for documentation. Now you can argue one should not have posted this. And I would agree with you.

EbeeWhite

Oh I forgot the CYOA section in HIPAA training. /s

Hamilspud

She wasnā€™t covering her own ass when she posted it on the internet

[deleted]

Yes, because those two things are totally mutually exclusive and you can never do both. Thank you u/Hamilspud for enlightening us with your intelligent explanation on the matter and for using such strong words of wisdom. Bravo. /s

TheKokoMoko

Well when they are abusing you, you should get documentation.

Unlucky_Classroom280

I was a geriatric and hospice nurse and dealt with some bad behaviors especially from dementia patients. You have to tell yourself (sometimes more than once) that they're not responsible for their actions. I could tolerate alot however, the man who swung a golf club at me got told a thing or two. Needless to say I dropped him as a client. I just didnt get paid enough to take that abuse. I heard later another nurse who picked up his case, was beaten with a golf club by him. He hit her in the head from behind and knocked her out. He then proceeded to beat her with it while she was unconscious. The last I heard she was suing the family of this man and also the agency. The agency knew he was dangerous. I had reported what occurred when I was there. I personally was rooting for her to win both cases.

HennaArist

I am saddened by the sheer lack of dementia awareness in these comments. This young lady certainly deserves an award for her patience and tolerance. The older lady has a neurodegenerative disease, we call dementia. Her brain is dying, she will eventually and very slowly forget how to swallow water or food and very slowly die. If you think she has a clue what sheā€™s doing, youā€™re the one without a clue.

EbeeWhite

The caregiver is pretty scummy. She is filming a patient with dementia that now made its way onto the internet. Huge HIPAA issue. Family has every right to sue. People with dementia have little to no capacity to control their behavior and understand why it is wrong. I have worked in memory care for years and have been bitten, choked, scratched, spit on, and screamed at. But I'm not a POS to film them. That's so wrong.

bunbunzinlove

You're right. If this is a caregiver, I hope she gets fired.

Fjellbjorn

>The older lady has a neurodegenerative disease, we call dementia. How the fuck do you know she's not just a racist?

JaysusShaves

I really hope it's dementia, but you're right. I've taken care of some nasty people who were fully aware of the things they were saying and doing.

hainoshere

I know right? Everyone just accept it as a fact that she has dementia. I mean it can very well be demetia, but there's heeeaps of racist old hags around and everyone's acting like there's no chance in hell she's just an asshole.

[deleted]

Because white+bad behavior=presumption of mental illness.

HennaArist

What does she say in the video?

C-DriveERROR

Legit my same thought, but I didnā€™t want to get ganged up on by the potential sheep saying its dementia because someone greenlit a woman spitting at someone as a sign of dementia and not her testing another personā€™s patients, the old woman looking well aware of what she doing and muttering under her breath but dementia

Demon_Adder

Bless those who provide late life care. You are appreciated and you are needed.

Disastrous_Orange_67

The old lady obviously has dementia she is probably filming this for proof of assault

[deleted]

Worker filling for proof as she looked at the camera near the end.

Biltong_Salad

That poor lady has had this happen before.

JustRandomNonsence

Not the exact same thing but I work in child protection. I have had young people and kids do some outrageous things to staff like urinating on them, spitting, throwing food, sexually assaulting, physically assaulting, damaging their cars, telling the general public they're kidnapping/abusing them, chasing them with weapons threatening to kill them etc. The patience required to do any kind of work with people who unfortunately act in these manners (not their fault in most cases) is astonishing.

Fyroth

I guess remaining calm in private is the same as a public freakout.

weeeHughie

We gotta treat humans more like the animals we are. It's really old, it's not functioning correctly and it's suffering, just put it down.

WDMC-905

just put her out on an iceflow.

TreemanDyson

I thinks itā€™s called an ā€œice floeā€ if you mean a sheet of floating ice.

cathedral68

An iceflow?! Thatā€™s so random and funny.

Fjellbjorn

Not random at all, it's an actual Inuit tradition.

ghintec74_2020

My father has dementia for more than five years now. Thank God he's not the violent type like my grandpa.

SavimusMaximus

Restraint defined.

MoreChillThanTheDude

I fully understand she has dementia and canā€™t comprehend what sheā€™s doing. But why just ignore it? Would be OK to still acknowledge her actions and ask her to stop? Or provide a distraction like a cup of tea and a cookie or something? Or is she really that far gone that it wouldnā€™t make a difference either way?

heresyourhatandcoat

Old people are the worst. If I pull stupid shit like that when I'm old, I hope my nurse punches me in the mouth

squishychick

Someone started a gofundme for the gorillaglue hair chick and this patient hard working woman has to put up with this shit?! This is the problem with the world today. This woman is a Saint. And here we are praising idiots.... ugh.

SmokeAbeer

Well handled.

ausomemama666

My grandma has dementia. Before she stopped talking she used to accuse one woman in particular of sleeping with my grandpa. He died like 15+ years ago. During this time we discovered a long lost half aunt in france because my grandpa was in fact a total slut.

Ph0t0nz

This made me so sick to my stomach. I know the old lady is probably suffering from dementia, but the worker gal definitely shouldnā€™t have to put up with being treated that way.

EmployerAdditional28

Give the care worker a pay rise and some recognition. This looks like a dementia patient and that shit is very hard work. These care workers are angels. I couldn't do it. I wouldn't lose my temper in situ knowing that the patient is mentally ill but FML I wouldn't be back the next day.

Noldman

Collect your coins maā€™am

[deleted]

Hoowwwwwwwww are you so calm

renkie812

Wow mad respect on the amount of restraint this woman shows.

trademarcs

Mental health care workers endure this behavior on a daily, you tend to develop thick skin quickly

[deleted]

She has mega control

KlaatuBarada1952

Someone has sadly lost their mind, and the other shows the gift of grace and restraint.

L_ark

Public Freakout putting dementia patients in their place! Yeah, she might have been recording for purpose of documenting that she gets abused by the elderly woman. However, now it's on one of the most heavily trafficked sites on the internet.

MaxCliffRAID1

The definition of patience.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Candid-Cobbler

she may very well know its wrong, but, she also is not able to learn or alter her behavior. alot of these people wake up every day wondering where they are, wanting to go home or see their kids. sorry, your husband/wife is dead. you can't leave. nobody will spend the time explaining to you every single day where you are or what you're doing there. where are my keys? where is my car? i want to go home. where is my daughter? what the hell is wrong with you people, why won't anyone answer me? year after year. all i am saying is, one day she might be totally normal, and the next day she is spitting or tossing shit around. i saw it firsthand working in a nursing home. they're understaffed, underpaid, and overworked. nobody has time to sit with a resident every single day and explain to them for the thousandth time how they are basically serving a life sentence here. you have 50 or 60 other people to attend to. and the ones with dementia get the worst care, because, they're not gonna tell anybody. can chart any old thing, they won't argue, lol. eventually you devote your effort to people with a chance of recovery, the shitters and the spitters can just stare at the wall all day.

squal600

I am so proud of that woman , full respect on her calm attitude. šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

TheMoisture0416

I feel like Iā€™d lose my cool so fast and granny never gonna leave the bed again. I know not a good thing to say but healthcare workers already go through so much bullshit and to be treated like literal dirt just makes my blood boil.

[deleted]

Iā€™d whisper in her ear every night, maybe tonightā€™s the night Mabel, or maybe Iā€™m poisoning your food. Either way, your turn is coming, soon.

[deleted]

Isn't spitting on people assault?

trademarcs

I'm guessing you never worked in mental health

[deleted]

Well most my co-workers are mental, does that count?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

trademarcs

Yes let's go back 80 years and treat people with mental disorders like animals. It worked so well before

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

trademarcs

Exactly what this woman did, the elderly woman wanted a response and failed to get one so she walked away. Maybe try redirecting her attention to something she enjoys but anything else would have escalated the situation Edit: want to emphasize the fact that de-escalation is crucial when working with this population. And besides, who wants to fill out an incident report explaining why you had to restrain the elderly woman?

ronyamtapeas

I guess this is why black people are pissed. Iā€™m a straight white male. Maybe in some other country this could happen to me but I am almost guaranteed to never experience this. Whatā€™s worse is she is there to help.

trademarcs

Okay, listen, this video is not an example of institutional racism. This video is an example of working with dementia/TBI. I've worked with this population for years and recieved this treatment and worse from all colors of people. It comes with job and thick skin is required.

hardyhaha_09

OP is a retard

qark1788

What a despicable cunt Iā€™ve never been so upset by a*video I wish I could fucking tombstone that old bitch

harrisonfire

The person who lived in that body left a long time ago, my man.

[deleted]

Time to switch it off then. Anything less is pure selfishness by those left behind.

[deleted]

Looks like dementia not racism she would have spit on a white person too edit: Iā€™m black and I see it this way you all try too hard to make everything a race issue. Truly a bunch of sheeple

[deleted]

Meemaw needs to be placed in a home. One of the NY ones.

VikingQueen68

Such vile disrespect itā€™s sickening. Iā€™m impressed with that caregiverā€™s (?) level of dignity and class.

RipVanWinkleX

You got to understand that it's not their fault. Both the wife and I work with seniors. Being spit on isnt the worse thing that can happen. Having a strong willpower is a must for that kind of job.

juxtapositionChicken

What the fuck even

American_DOOMER

If I'm the employer she's getting paid leave, a bonus & a raise

xerxerxex

Sadly it doesn't work that way in the Healthcare business

TiredOfYoSheeit

I see a lot of people claiming the elder woman has dementia (which wouldn't be surprising), but it dawned on me that no one seemed to have any proof. What if this old lady is of sound mind?

trademarcs

And just some random women in the kitchen washing her dishes?

BIGGITY-BOO

If it was me Iā€™ll look this old lady in the eyes while I am on the phone with 911 and say and elderly woman just passed away.....in her sleep.

Wheres_that_to

Judging by the comments, many people are not yet equipped with the knowledge they will need when they have to support family and friends through dementia. It would be sensible to educate oneself before the inevitable situation occurs, because the lack of understanding will make the upcoming situations less stressful for everyone involved, along with accessing better care for your love ones. There are plenty of resources and information on line, try to get some volunteering work in , that way you ensure you can handle the upcoming events in a positive way . Very few people will not have to deal with love one having dementia, it's rather self defeating to remain ignorant as to what effects it will have.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

trademarcs

I've worked TBI patients for years, yes this behavior is common. Thick skin is a job requirement

CheapStrength

Idgaf how old the bitch is... she deserves to get a big boot to the face. Ole cunt ass.

[deleted]

I hope this ends in a huge settlement

JP6660999

That would be the last day at that job

CGoonHustle

shits fucked up... most respect to the young lady

divinealbert

Iā€™m so so sorry that you had to go through that, and with your restraint you are amazing, you have nothing but love in your heart xxx

Uncle-Nomis

I work with Dementia & Alzheimer patients, itā€™s incredibly sad to see how people deteriorate & behaviour like this is not uncommon. I know from speaking with my clients children that their current state of mind is more often than not nothing like what they once were. There is incredible work being done to research these two mental illnesses but more still needs to be done, if you can afford it- donate to research charities. Youā€™ll be investing in yourself or loved ones as Iā€™m afraid these mental illnesses are likely to affect most people reading this.

mjolnirredditer

Dementia or not, a flicker to her wrinkled old forehead should reset some functions in that bigoted brain of hers.

trademarcs

I honestly doubt this is race related. I've worked with TBI patients for years and recieved this and much worse from all colors and races. It's typical behavior

superdebz

My Grans got dementia, and this last year has really started to hit her. She gets really angry over loads of little stuff its really hard to watch.

Dan_Glebitz

That old bitch needs a permanent anti-spitting mask or solitary confinement. I do not care what the circumstances are, spitting is a vile sub human act.

Shijima_UK

Assuming she is a carer, that lady is a hero!

Bilmo2020

That lady would have been getting a full cup of water thrown at her for sure, I wouldnā€™t be able to stay as in control as this woman.

eastcoasttoastpost

What a disgusting old bitch

uusrikas

Get this shit off here, videoing dementia patients is not fit for an entertainment sub.

Deamonfart

''Voilence is never ju - kill her.''

meinnit19

Can't wait til I get old and senile and someone films me and puts it all over the internet. Yeah she's calm - that's what she's paid to do. Putting private vids of vulnerable people online. Not so good, Al.

trademarcs

It's also a HIPAA violation

myburnerforthissub

It's always just "mental illness" when it comes to white people, right? See comments...

trademarcs

That woman is obviously a care giver at a residential facility or nursing home. Care givers and residential staff deal with this shit on a daily basis. It's part of the job. Now posting this video is a HIPAA violation and the woman could face criminal charges

ttcmzx

Holy fucking shit how did she not

Candid-Cobbler

she is recording to show to her boss. this has certainly happened before. maybe she hit her 20 times before and it didn't work because she would forget every day? lol. that's sarcasm, but, you can't really teach someone who has dementia that their behavior is inappropriate. so either you suck it up, buttercup, or find a better job. i'm thinking she needs the job so she took the video to show to management, who will likely do nothing, lol. but yeah i worked in a nursing home and there are people who treat you like a slave. they're like, hey, here is a pile of poop, haha. but there's 2 CNA's for 50 or 60 patients. so you have a whole waiting list of people to put on or off the toilet. i couldn't handle it, i didn't even make it two years.

Blitzcriag

What a crippled bitch

thelivingbush

All you people see is color. Sheeple.

LowStakesSteaks

We need to put the old and into way into incinerators they contribute nothing and eat away resources Bad for numbers, if youā€™re old and your brain is a pile of gravel like this old cunt then you should probably be removed from society The quick way

BurningTree50

Okay Hitler

LizLemonadeX

That lady washing her gloves deserves a raise for being calm. Not many would have.

desepticon

If I ever got like this I would want my family to just put me on the ice floe.

HennaArist

For the US, even if you write those wishes out, sign it, have it notarized, and swear in a court of law thatā€™s what you want, your family would go to prison for murder. Unless youā€™re in a state (and I think thereā€™s only 1 or 2) that had a die with dignity law.

desepticon

I was being mostly facetious.

accidental_local

Made me a little sad. Life can be shit on so many levels. Enjoy it whilst you can. Massive respect for the control shown here. A lesson for all of us. That's a calling not a job. Sending positive vibrations.

The thing about the lady is if she does sun down or have dementia she wonā€™t remember anything sheā€™s done the next day (if at all), so if you retaliate then youā€™re the bad person. But I honestly believe some of these people true colors come out now that there moral compass isnā€™t really working.

ustvnow420

Thatā€™s awful tho. Hopefully sheā€™s long gone from that

Guys, you don't understand, she's trying to speedrun death.

You know, my kneejerk response is to take the side of the woman who's being spit on... Then I remember the [gross breaches of](https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/aged-care-homes-face-threat-of-legal-action-amid-negligence-claims-20200806-p55j7i.html) [living conditions in](https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/aug/22/nurses-horrified-by-weeks-of-neglect-of-woman-from-covid-hit-melbourne-nursing-home) [nursing homes](https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/oct/22/new-laws-needed-to-protect-elderly-people-from-substandard-care-and-abuse-in-aged-care-homes). I know it's not fair of me to put all aged care facilities in the same light however I can't help but wonder whether there might be an actual cause for this case. There was nothing at all said about what motivated this gross action. It could well be just an act of random racism from an elderly woman but... Considerring the news coming out from different aged care facilities, both close to home [and off shore](https://theconversation.com/new-aged-care-data-on-hospitalisation-rates-show-significant-problem-areas-in-residential-aged-care-154365), I'm not quite so quick to write this off as just an act of unprovoked aggression. I apologise if it does turn out to be however, recent news being what it is, I feel a note of skepticism and cynicism towards this area.

The camera is the only reason that woman is still alive. The sad part is it's probably dementia to blame. Or maybe that's the hope.

Staged

Imacoolguy18

Does she not realize she can fall over with just a firm tap

KaroYot

Her next call should've been to get new dentures

DaSasquatch

Wow, I expected a bowl of water was about to hit ol racist granny straight in her spit hole. Probably not the first time this has happened, since she's recording this.
