I tried Koinly. Can’t recommend it as it behaves more like an app than accounting software for those with trades in the 1000s. I’ve used Cointracking.info since 2017. Still a lot of things you have to do manually but it has been the most accurate out of all the crypto accounting services I tried. The Achilles heel of all crypto accounting services is that they use roughly 2 web site databases for gleaning average prices. If an alt coin doesn’t make the list on either site, it remains unknown, which is lazy accounting coding in my opinion. They should at least sample Dex sites in cases where alt coins don’t populate to the big 2 sites. Coin market cap is definitely the one all crypto accounting sites used. Not sure why they consider this the end all be all for crypto given the ability to list a coin depends on financing them.
On Cointracking.info, PLS and PLSX prices are available as early as 5/20/2023. It is hit or miss with any other PLS native coin though, along with the imported coin names upon wallet import. Officially, depending on the dex you use, you should be able to figure out prices of all coins as early as 5/19/23. Anything before that would be zero value trades as there is no price history to verify. You also have to make sure the, for manually pricing cost, the time zone used is accurate, which is likely UTC.
Took me weeks to log all the alt coins that didn’t populate prices and/or imported with the wrong coin name. I think anything before 05/16/23 didn’t have a price, in my case, because there are no historical prices. In some cases, I was able to glean a close value based on a stable coin trade.
I can hand off an excel I used during my nightmare accounting that has most of the popular coin prices, although accuracy is 90%, but in favor of conservative prices. Feel free to IM me.
