Just listen to Existential Reckoning from start to finish through a good pair of headphones. Itâs one of, if not THE, best produced albums ever. The sound engineers deserve lifetime achievement awards. Every single note was planned and meticulously placed. If that album doesnât grab you, nothing will.
Ok, I never went with a great sound with existential, but I'll check it soon. I am really curious why you think that album the production is that good. I only listened at the gym or car bangers. Interesting. I shall giveth tryeth.
This is how I discovered them. I heard Momma Sed and Trekka for the first time back to back and literally paused the music said âwhat the fuck Maynardâ out loud.
Polar Bear, Telling Ghost, The Arsonist, Simultaneous, Conditions of my parole, The Remedy, The Underwhelming, Bullet Train To Iowa, and Horizons.
Took me a long time to get into them. I think The Remedy and Conditions of My Parole are what got me hooked initially.
I'd add don't quit if you're hearing something you don't like, each album has a different feel. A couple albums took me time to warm up to, but once it clicks.....yeah.
Rev 22:20 (Don't Shoot the Messenger), Sour Grapes "Legend of the Mix", Conditions of My Parole, The Arsonist, Bedlamite
I'm trying to think of songs that might get me into Puscifer coming from only having listened to APC and Tool. Conditions of My Parole is, in my opinion, the most accessible for a newcomer audibly.
If you like comedy with music- Conditions of my Parole is SO GOOD.
All of existential reckoning.
Potions.
Humbling River.
It's hard for me not to just say listen to every album, they're all so good.
Money shot is my favorite album of theirs so far. But conditions and existential reckoning are incredible too. V might be a little harder to get into for a first timer.
I recommend going through Live at Arcosanti or What is⌠in their entirety but if you only want a few songs, Oceans, Conditions of my Parole, Upgrade, Bullet Train to Iowa
Listen to all of it in sequence. You can hear the evolution of the band. From the humor in the beginning to the ethereal harmonies with Carina Round on the latest. Watch some of the live videos too for a preview of the live experience. Just donât be spam.
Iâm an older prog metal head (and huge Tool fan) so Puscifer was harder for me to get into. My wife forced it on me during our weekend road trips (Arizona) and âConditions of my paroleâ & Money Shotâ were the 2 releases that pulled me in.
The new one is the one I like the least overall. Itâs great but his vocal cadence is similar across multiple tracks & Iâve had trouble getting past that. âBullet trainâŚâ is a masterpiece though. âUPgrade is another gem.
The production on the new one is 10/10 so that alone is worth giving it several listens.
One thing thatâs extra cool about Puscifer is how theyâll rework songs for live shows so thereâs a lot of already great songs with even better versions of the tracks out there.
I canât believe no one mentioned The Mission. Pretty sure that was the song that hooked me initially. I love Milla Jovovichâs voice on the studio version. Itâs just an all around cool tune.
Those of us who know, know that this is a really difficult question to answer.
Conditions is the most accessible album for a beginner (particularly in the form of the live WHO ISâŚ) album. The albums before have some greats and some odd balls. Everything there after is damn near perfect start to perfect.
I went YEARSâŚY.E.A.R.S. not quite getting it, but then it just clicked one day and in some ways it is my favorite Maynard project. Carina was the missing piece and the versatility of all the songs being blended into remixes is very interesting.
My personal faves are Tumbleweed, Autumn, Potions, Polar Bear.
Iconic songs: Vagina Mine, Momma Sed, Sour Grapes, Humbling River, Grand Canyon. And of course, REV 22:20 (from Don't Shoot the Messenger), since this is the song that got me into them way back in the day.
I just haven't been able to get into Existential Reckoning. I need to work on this.
Buy ALL the Puscifer albums. Live, studio, EPs, everything.
Create a playlist with ALL the songs.
Put on shuffle with headphones in a dark, quiet room.
Thank me later.
(PS this Puscifer shuffle is the most loved playlist I have with all my other coworkers. It just....works.)
I'm here for it. Don't forget the remix albums! The band has discussed ad infinitum how the songs are meant to be chopped up and rearranged from the get-go. As such, the remix albums are (generally) phenomenal.
I'll also be at the Bowl! I went to Cinquanta at the Greek and it was like a trailer park circus round robin, I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve this time. That said I was a newer Puscifer fan when I went to that show 10 years ago, but I albsolutely fell in love with them. I've been to a few of their headlining shows in 2016 and it's just a completely different experience than Tool. Anyway I hope you enjoy Sessanta, and here are a few of my favorite Puscifer songs:
-Agostina -Potions -Momma Sed -Rev 22:20
-Man Overboard -Conditions of My Parole -Toma
One thing to be mindful ofâŚthey have e remixes MANY of their songs so do not go expecting to hear studio versions. On the most recent tour they only played one track off their earlier albums in the studio versionâŚthe rest were remixes.
Puscifer really is a different thing. It's not like the others. And that's great. I'd say just listen to the Existential Reckoning album and find out if you like it or not. My personal favorite song from Puscifer though, is Grand Canyon.
Bedlamite, The Underwhelming, Potions, Sour Grapes, Vagina Mind, Agostina, Tumbleweed
ETA: I wanted to add in a couple that others have chimed in on: The Humbling River & Grand Canyon & Bullet Train to Iowa. You could also do for funsies Cuntry Boner too đ
Thank you all!!! I was too embarrassed to ask the same question. My friends say, to discover the most famous songs of a group , I should either search on Youtube and start with the songs that have video clips. Or go in Spotify and start with the popular ones. Or ask chatPGT what the most famous songs are... But since I am a resourceful person full of initiative I prefer asking people on Reddit. This way I avoid taking big risks trying to listen music by myself. And it's also my contribution to the Reddit community: An interesting and enriching post.
Donkey punch the night
Country boner
Fake affront
Sour grapes
Apocalyptical
The remedy
Tiny monsters
Momma sed
Oceans
Watch the *What is puscifer* concert movie
God damn Peter Merkin!
Every puscifer track is its own work of art, enjoy them all. Can't wait till sessanta! Just know it's not gonna be the same as seeing puscifer on their own this show will be its own unique celebration.
The Remedy was the song that really âclickedâ for me. My love for everything else fell into place after that. Other top faves: Man Overboard, The Arsonist, Polar Bear, and The Mission (M is for Milla Mix).
The entire Existential Reckoning album took a long time to grow on me. Though I have a hearty appreciation for it now, I donât know if Iâd recommend starting with that one if youâre just now trying to get into them (maybe unpopular opinion).
I have not really fallen in love with Puscifer, but I was watching Yellowstone and they featured "The Humbling River" and I went directly to YouTube to learn how to play it on guitar and have loved it ever since.
I second the What Is live album. Momma Sed is good and then listen to it on this album, you'll see why. I love all that I've heard so far but this album kicked it off for me. Finding it on vinyl is hard as hell though, if anyone knows where to, tell me.
The humbling river, the underwhelming, monsoons, momma sed, the remedy
Indigo children, sour grapes, vagina mine
Potions. All of conditions. Shiz.. theres good songs in all of it. I love variety.
Trying to keep it to 3-5 đ¤Łđ I added a comment later down the thread which I think sums it up perfectly!
To add on to your near perfect list: Horizons
Green valley is a gem too
The Humbling River Momma Sed The Green Valley Grand Canyon Personal Prometheus.
These. These are permanently in my head.
I'd like to add telling ghosts and bullet train to iowa to your list
Just listen to Existential Reckoning from start to finish through a good pair of headphones. Itâs one of, if not THE, best produced albums ever. This!
Is the Way ! Play âBullet Train to Iowaâ Twice
And watch the music video đ
I agree with this one.
Ok, I never went with a great sound with existential, but I'll check it soon. I am really curious why you think that album the production is that good. I only listened at the gym or car bangers. Interesting. I shall giveth tryeth.
Just listen to it all. Youâll connect.
I just put it on Spotify and listened for hours. So much of it hit me just right.
This is how I discovered them. I heard Momma Sed and Trekka for the first time back to back and literally paused the music said âwhat the fuck Maynardâ out loud.
Oceans and potions.
Thank you for including Potions! Itâs one of their best songs but is often left out of discussions because of Carinaâs absence.
Potions was for tapeworm. Definitely hear Trent reznor in it
Polar Bear, Telling Ghost, The Arsonist, Simultaneous, Conditions of my parole, The Remedy, The Underwhelming, Bullet Train To Iowa, and Horizons. Took me a long time to get into them. I think The Remedy and Conditions of My Parole are what got me hooked initially.
The remedy, bullet to Iowa, humbling river, lighten up Francis, simultaneous.
Listen to the discography from beginning to end
I'd add don't quit if you're hearing something you don't like, each album has a different feel. A couple albums took me time to warm up to, but once it clicks.....yeah.

The Remedy is so underrated.
Seeing The Remedy live was one of ny favorite concert experiences ever
Try TOMA or Man overboard.

My son (11 at the time) loved that part of the show!
Iâm an older prog metal head (and huge Tool fan) so Puscifer was harder for me to get into. TOMA!!!!
Cuntry Boner
It wonât go down!
I had to scroll so hard to find this mentioned. Really, one of their best! If you understand their mission at all.. đ˝
I canât believe no one mentioned The Mission. Pretty sure that was the song that hooked me initially. I love Milla Jovovichâs voice on the studio version. Itâs just an all around cool tune.
YES!

I'd add also *required*
Bullet Train to Iowa. Iâve been a fan since their first album, and this song is our favorite.
I'll also be at the Bowl! I went to Cinquanta at the Greek and it was like a trailer park circus round robin, I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve this time. Autumn, both the studio and the live versions
Bullet train to Iowa, Polar bear, Dozo, Bedlamite
Puscifer really is a different thing. It's not like the others. And that's great. I'd say just listen to the Existential Reckoning album and find out if you like it or not. My personal favorite song from Puscifer though, is Grand Canyon.
This is also Maynard's Son's favorite song he's done.
Interesting
Man overboard, humbling river, Grand Canyon, simultaneous. Also holiday on the moon and rocket man
What Is .. it's a live album. I find this a great introduction.
Just listen to all of D is for Dubby /s
Bedlamite, The Underwhelming, Potions, Sour Grapes, Vagina Mind, Agostina, Tumbleweed ETA: I wanted to add in a couple that others have chimed in on: The Humbling River & Grand Canyon & Bullet Train to Iowa. You could also do for funsies Cuntry Boner too đ
I didnât like them until I saw them in person! Then I was completely hooked.
Conditions of my Parole and Bedlamite would be my suggestions... the Remedy as well.
Start with V is for Versatile remix album. It's probably the best gateway drug for the band.
Try the Conditions of my Parole album. It's heavier than all the rest
Cuntry Boner!
Thank you all!!! I was too embarrassed to ask the same question. We got you!
Rev 22, Bullet Train to Iowa, and Potions are a good start. But really there's so much good stuff there!
Go to a puscifer show
Money Shot is my favorite and the closest one to being basically like an APC album.
Donkey punch the night Country boner Fake affront Sour grapes Apocalyptical The remedy Tiny monsters Momma sed Oceans Watch the *What is puscifer* concert movie God damn Peter Merkin! the live at rock am ring 2017 show is on youtube and really good
Cuntry Boner or Apocalyptical
Potions Fake affront A singularity Bedlamite Bullet train to Iowa Man overboard
I agree with a lot of the other recommendations, but since no one has mentioned this one yet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6Zrw1KxwPE
Conditions of my parole as an album was my gateway⌠now Iâm in love w all they do. Existential reckoning is my favorite
The Remedy was the song that really âclickedâ for me. My love for everything else fell into place after that. Man overboard
Remedy. Momma sed - live version, m is for mission, humbling river. Start there.
I have not really fallen in love with Puscifer, but I was watching Yellowstone and they featured "The Humbling River" and I went directly to YouTube to learn how to play it on guitar and have loved it ever since.
Give em another shot someday. Took a bitâŚbut they clicked for me. I recommend the âWhat isâŚâ live album.
Momma Sed
I second the What Is live album. Momma Sed is good and then listen to it on this album, you'll see why. I love all that I've heard so far but this album kicked it off for me. Finding it on vinyl is hard as hell though, if anyone knows where to, tell me.
Dear Brother Momma Sed Trekka Conditions of my Parole
Dear Brother is a great fucking song but they are all good.
