I’m a newer user too and so far I’ve been very happy with pistol whip. Super hot vr demo is pretty good but not sure if I want to commit money to it yet. Surprisingly I haven’t had that much fun with blade and sorcery and bonelab. Both are more intense sandbox and I prefer story oriented games. That said the game Red Matter 2 is good but get it on sale, good experience but short and I doubt I’ll come back to it.
Dungeons of Eternity is a must play in my opinion. Raiding dungeons with friends or random players is one of the most fun experiences in VR. If you like building things and problem solving I'd also recommend Some Assembly Required. You get to build remote controlled robots to solve different tasks and there's also a creative mode. If you're into watching movies Bigscreen VR is another great app to have. You can watch Disney Plus in different theater environments and if you have a PC you can connect it to watch or play whatever you want. If you're a Mac user you can also run Windows in a VM and connect it to Bigscreen VR that way too, which is what I do.
Quest+ has been worth the 8 or 9 bucks a month it costs has been more than worth it to be able to play anything in the quest+ library and they add a couple newer games to it every month.
Golf+ (if you're a golfer in lame standard reality), 11 table tennis, blade and sorcery, iron man, virtual desktop, and i guess pavlov is fun if you manage get a server with kids over 8years old
My favorite game (and I played a lot of them) is shadow point although the graphics are old. The story is beautiful and the puzzles are challenging. It’s narrated by Patrick Stewart.
If you have a friend or several then township tale is my favorite co op game. I have the most hours in this one. It’s a survival game (also with dated graphics but it is still super fun).
Are you a Spider-Man fan? If so, Resist and BattleGlide are the two best games for simulating being the Webhead. I can't tell you how many hours I've downed in both of those games.
Pistol whip is an absolute necessity as well.
Expect you to die is a really good and slow series.
Pistol Whip and Beat Saber(modded) - the best games to play, and amazing for small parties.
Super hot actually pretty good, finished it as well.
Dark room (escape room) pretty good too, if you into escape rooms.
Also those games are safe from motion sickness, I really wanted to play W40K battle sister, and some other game with movement, but find motion sickness gets me, so get one game first - test 30min and refund if sickness kicking in.
Get side quest and sign up to be a "developer" on your meta account and you'll get access to a bunch of other games some being free.
If.you have a PC get virtual desktop app.
Robot recall and ironstrike ate both great games for people who are new to vr
Ironstrike is especially good as a social game because I've only ever met one toxic person
There's several steps to adding it in, and you'll need to be able to connect to a computer to do so, but each stage has a series of tutorial videos to walk you through the process. Took me about an hour to get it all up and running, but definitely worthwhile.
Don't get too discouraged if you get motion sick. Just shorten & space out your sessions a bit. When I first got mine it really bothered me that I felt a bit nauseous after a few minutes of games like Zero Caliber, where movement was fluent instead of the warping around type(not sure if the game actually supports both ways). After a few weeks it went away though, and I don't get it at all anymore.
Make sure you take advantage of the referral codes. Both you and the referee get free credit. I found out about them a day after i created my account
Super hot, beat saber, and pistol whip are the games i bought first and really enjoyed. Id say first two were more fun than the third but still fun.
Superhot definately is a must play and its a great introduction to vr
I did get half life alyx that i really enjoyed but you need a pc for that
Pavlov awesome once you learn how to handle the guns also gun raiders is pretty good but too many brats...if you're buying brand new I'd consider a used quest 3...far better graphics and haptics...you may also need a new headstrap as the stock one is way too uncomfortable.
Beat saber is a 100% must. Next i would suggest would probably be bonelab. One of the best games on the quest and in my opinion has one of the best campains. (i haven’t played half life alyx) its basically gmod in vr with a really good campaign and sandbox. Blade and sorcery is in my opinion, just like beat saber also a must. Its the game you go to if you want to kill people with medieval weapons. It has the best character physics in any vr game, and has a mod workshop so you can basically do anything. Of course i suggest looking into the games before you buy them to see if you will like them.
I just got blade and sorcery, it's amazing. Don't forget to check out shooter mode in the roller coaster game that's free, I still play that after 2 years.
not a game but highly recommend getting sidequest. for games beat saber, smash drums, first person tennis, dance dash is like dance dance revolution with in vr. you just need to buy the straps to attach controllers to your feet. i got the game and straps on amazon for 15$ it was on sale
Walkabout mini golf is a lot more fun than you might think especially with friends. And Beat Saber is pretty much in a league of its own
I’ve never really been into gold but ill try it, thanks
God's of gravity. It's the only game I've ever really liked in vr. Very strategic, it's a blast. It's like an RTS
Thanks for the suggestion
Buy the add on course meow, it is completely different with odd things not possible in real life. It's only a $4 extra.
I expect you to die 1 2 and 3. All are worth it.
If you have a capable PC, half life alyx
I told a coworker I got a quest yesterday, he doesn't have one but this is what he recommended me! OkY well I got to play it now
If you like it, you can also buy old half life games which have VR mods.
Thanks for the insight!
Into the radius. Its pretty much the only reason I have vr.

I’ll try some of those, thanks
Any space exploration games out there?
If you have the PC prowess then Elite Dangerous is a blast.
Racket club
Walking Dead Saints And Sinners part 1 and 2 is really good, Resident Evil 4 again is really good, Try out some VR Youtube as well!

Population One is a great, free, 1st person shooter

Half-Life: Alyx
Eleven table tennis
Try 'AmazeVR Concerts' for a non-gaming experience. There is a free song for each of the artists you can check out!
Quest Game Optimizer. App, tho, not a game. But it will enhance your resolution.
Gtfo really? How have i never heard of this?
Still waiting for his answer
I overslept
Is it easy to figure out?

I’ll definitely get that, thank you
I'd play around with a lot of the free games first. All of the other games you have to buy and they aren't cheap and they add up
That’s smart, and it will help me get used to vr too, thanks

so what free games do you recommend?
I like Texas holdem personality.

IB Cricket, Super Hot
Contractors 100% great shooter game with tons of in game maps and mods
Honestly you should start with the free stuff first then get the quest + subscription
The games Red Matter and Red Matter 2 are really awesome. And down the rabbit hole is badass too!
Gorilla tag, You Move by Swinging your hands.

A quest 3.
