I don’t think most kids watching the show at the time really paid attention to stuff like that. Maybe when a kid actor didn’t show up, but definitely not a grown man not showing up

matcha5281

Yep, I watched the show religiously as a kid and really only noticed changes to the main cast, not the background characters

MissRoot

Same with me. I noticed more the cast changes. I didn’t pay attention to the adults.

kolaida

Yeah, I watched All That frequently and have no recollection of “Pickle Boy” tbh.

Violet_Potential

Yeah, I don’t even remember it happening and doubt I noticed or thought anything about it. I forgot he was even on the show til they showed the clip of him with the pickles.

PonytailEnthusiast

I was a casual viewer of the show but watched it often enough. I watched it on Family channel, which is a channel in Canada that aired mostly disney channel content but some nickelodeon content as well. It wasnt shown in chronological order, you'd see some eps from the 90s and then some from the 00s. I swear I never saw pickle boy on the show, at least I dont remember the character.

trojanusc

Can't speak for others but All That went through many cast changes over the years, nor did people tend to watch the episodes in chronological order. Plus "pickle boy" wasn't in every episode. Most people likely didn't notice. He was a dialogue coach, which is a relatively low level position there to help actors remember lines. They have them on a lot of shows. The position is a bit more crucial on shows with a lot of kids because they are there to help them remember lines, learn how to say things correctly, understand pronunciation, etc. Stuff adults tend to have an easier time with. Aside from being the dialogue coach, he had some minor bit parts here and there, such as pickle boy, a generic "producer" etc. He didn't have a starring role in any capacity, nor did he play a critical role in the production of the show. I think one of the things people tend to miss when they analyze this is that Brian Peck wasn't some Harvey Weinstein-esque titan of the industry. He was an actor who really only had bit parts in things and successful as a dialogue coach, a "below the line" (eg not very important) position. By all accounts he was well liked and well-regarded up until the Drake thing happened, which is why he could get 50+ people to write a letter given the circumstances, but he wasn't at a level where people would cover for him for the sake of their own careers. He was just one of hundreds upon hundreds of crew members that worked for Dan over the years.

Inside_Sprinkles9083

I remember all that but I don’t remember “pickle boy” (2003 I was in elementary school)

CemeteryClubMusic

I remember actively thinking all the adults on the show made me uncomfortable. Like I’m watching a show to see silly kids, and then silly adults come out and the whole mood was off

vnisanian2001

Nothing wrong with adults being silly in general, but Pickle Boy was anything but silly. He was beyond creepy.

CemeteryClubMusic

Idk all the adults on Nickelodeon kids based shows gave me the creeps. I remember being uncomfortable from the adults on the Amanda show specifically and now that I look it up, Dan Schneider was likely who I’m referring to as he was in a TON of Amanda show episodes

BE202019

I remember the hot tub spaghetti scene from 9 yo me watching and being very uncomfortable.. clearly picking up on creepy Dan.

Kbudz

Yeah I remember pickle boy giving me the creeps I swear to god I would cringe whenever he came on and now I know why

TurtedHen

My son has told me since he was about 7-8 years old that he does NOT like kid themed shows where adults behave like kids. He is now 12 years old and makes his little sister turn away from shows or videos like that or alerts one of us that she’s watching something like that. He says it’s weird and “not right.”

_Deedee_Megadoodoo_

I don't even remember him. I'm glad I don't.

Softskeletonsx

I barely remembered him. I don’t remember noticing him disappearing as a kid. He was also did the voice for the Know Your Stars sketch. That I remember.

blackliqour

I remember him on multiple episodes. I’m not sure what else he necessarily did other than his role as pickle boy but pickle boy was a character that you kind of just remembered was in the background all the time interacting during live segments?

buddyboybuttcheeks

All that was still on in 2003??

desertdweller2011

i watched it in like 96-98 when i was in middle school i had no idea it went on that long ?

MesaVerde1987

1994 - 2005

Inside_Sprinkles9083

It went from 1994-2020 (google is your friend, downvoters 🙄)

National-Leopard6939

More like 1994-2005, and then 2019-2020. There was a huge gap of time between 2005-2019 where there was no All That. And tbh, I don’t even think the 2nd reboot in 2019 really “counts” as the *real* All That. The All That that’s relevant here is strictly from 1994-2005.

Bluebaronbbb

People care about season 7-10? There's a reason a lot of it is currently lost media.

MikeJones-8004

Avid watcher of All That at the time. I remember Pickle Boy. But he was just a random background character. He didn't add much to the show, nor do he he take away when he was no longer featured.

gawthgirl

He had small roles on the Amanda show too but he was background characters, the ones I’ve noticed here lately after seeing the doc is… he was in things that Drake was specifically in

Ok_Gap_9453

I was a casual viewer. I always thought Brian/pickle boy was creepy.

Bluebaronbbb

I hated the new cast and stopped watching

pastelrabbit

As a kid I never noticed that he disappeared. I do remember pickle boy though, it was definitely creepy even as a kid but when you’re that young you don’t think that awful things are happening to other people so I never had any concern about it.

strawberrie_oceans

I didn’t think anything of it cause there were always adults on the show here and there. I remember the crew playing themselves sometimes. So it just seemed like that to me.

The "likes to hurt and tease pickles" thing is from All That, not The Amanda Show.

S3lad0n

Regrettably, he cameo'd as the PB character in [this 2003 summer special ](https://archive.org/details/all.-that.-9x-00-r-u-all-that.flashbacks-37/All.That.9x00-R+U+All+That.flashbacks37.avi)(shot/aired in July of that year) titled 'R U All That?', in a supporting actor capacity to host Taran Killam, as part of a talent search for new All That cast members.

duckbran

That aired almost a month before he was arrested. Makes me sick

therlwl

No, it's not like he was Dan.
