I use my ally in bed or when my son is playing at an indoor thing we have in town. If im hanging out with the fam gaming im on the laptop. If they're gone or in bed and im serious its on the pc.
Well not much if a difference.. I have a proper pc set up, with a nice quality monitor and a nice keyboard and mouse and headphones, amp everything and I use that for games I want to experience really max out graphics with good details... and my ally is for more chill games... good example is honkai or genshin...
I vary, if the new monster hunter was out, id be on that in bed. Currently im playing no rest for the wicked. Monster hunter is super chill to me, kill, craft repeat.
Thars a good example, mhw i would play on pc and mhr I would play on ally... but each person has a different definition of what a chill game its ti then... some people find souls game chill
Yeah i played rise and sunbreak religiously on switch (in bed) until my son took it. He graduated from the tablet. Thats when I got the Ally for christmas this last year. NRftW is surprisingly pretty chill for a souls-like. I really like it. I'll be hitting up the xp for Elden Ring in the next month or so, cant play that in bed š°
It depends on what im playing tbh. There are games like Ori I wouldn't play on PC, it just screams handheld to me. But something like WoW raiding I wouldn't do on my Ally. Same with most competitive FPS shooters, it's cool but I'd much rather play on my PC with KBAM
My PC is literally only used for csgo, Tarkov, and Valorant or anything my friends want to play aside from that, like Elden Ring, which I've been hooked on it playing on the ally. It's probably more of an experience on PC but handheld I'm having a blast. I haven't touched my PC in a hot minute since I got my Ally
Not sure it counts but I play my PC THROUGH my Ally (Moonlight streaming) more than I actually play directly on my gaming PC. Itās just too damn convenient
No basically started with Nvidia Gamestream + Moonlight but when GameStream was retired, I switched to Sunshine on the host PC and kept Moonlight on the client. Havenāt had any issues streaming 1080p 120fps
I play the Ally more. If it's a game native on the Ally or if I'm streaming FROM my main lol. The freedom is just too good to be stuck sweaty at a desk.
I have my PC plugged into my LG OLED tv downstairs, then use the ROG ally in my office either docked, or if Iām having a lazy evening/morning in bed on a weekend š
For free games, I would check Epic Games Store. They give free games out every Thursday. You can also check Amazon Prime Gaming. They give out games as well, but I don't know if they have a specific day of the week or refreshes or not
Since.i bought the XG Mobile 4090 for my Ally, Ive been using my Ally more then my main PC, been playing ghost recon breakpoint more often specially during the hot whether. My main PC gets extremely hot. Performance wise it's identical to my main PC, roughly 5-7% slower then my 3080 TI. Obviously my mains PC CPU is still going to be faster but graphical wise it's pretty close. I'm really impressed with it. I've been using this almost every day for gaming.
I just can't see myself primarily using the controller over a keyboard and mouse, that just puts me at a huge disadvantage for most of my games, I did it for the first month out of excitement and just went back lol.
I use my ally more than my pc now . I used to do the same with the deck but Linux can be a pain for ease of use sometimes but with the ally I just dock it and use it like a console. Warframe is free to play and is very deep with loads of gameplay but it can be a bit daunting at first but loads of fun .
I have a Xbox X, ps5 and Nintendo switch. I used to use them all a lot, but now I only use my ally š only time I use the consoles is for exclusives. Love my ally
Literally trying to sell my switch, my ally has taken over my gaming interests and I'm playing way more games than I thought I would, absolutely amazed. My series S is next to sell, literally a Xbox handheld if you have gamepass
Sitting at my setup has felt like a chore for gaming, being able to play my steam games laying on the couch or in bed has been amazing recently. I do like my setup and play games with my buddies on it, but games I can just play casually like BG3 is amazing, also have been playing RoboCop.
As someone else said, always check epic games launcher for free games. I have claimed a lot of free games, the best one is definitely GTA V they gave away. I also enjoyed the BioShock series and much more. Games that are free already check out Fortnite, Rocket League, Overwatch 2, Smite, Destiny 2, I also know some people like Warframe. Fortnite is the most popular F2P game and has been for years, it's up there with Warzone
I do, I donāt have any time to play with my PC which is why I love my Ally since I prefer handheld gaming over sitting in front of a TV or monitor.
Already upgraded my Ally with 4TB since my micro SD card reader is fried and donāt plan on sending it in for RMA due to the current issues with Asus. Also got the XReal AR glasses if I want a larger screen.
Ally - at work (security, 6am to 2pm. I'm solo until 8am so I can get some gaming in before the college I work at opens). Or just chilling on the couch. Definitely useful on a plane.
My Razer w/ 4080 - big screen games, external monitor, or when I need something with a keyboard
Same boat, I have a 64 gigs with a 2080 super, I turn it on to do some personal business on occasion video editing, or large photo editing, but I rarely ever game on it anymore... thinking of putting it on a big screen to use it as a game console, the Ally works ok at 1080p, but it would be nice to utilize the full desktop on the couch without streaming, and with full HDR
Iām bad at controller so I usually play more casual games on the ally and use my PC for FPS games and stuff like that
But sometimes Iāll bring a keyboard and mouse with the ally itās just a lot bigger and more annoying than my laptop and a mouse
Iām sorry that I donāt have many free game recommendations, but Xbox game pass has an insane amount of games available on it and itās by far the best value for money. Also, Steam summer sale is taking place right now so you can get a lot of insanely good games for like a dollar or two
In Japan right now for vacay, been using the rog ally to play at night. Runs Elden ring, D4 just fine before the next day trip. Best experience is when you hook up an AR headset to it.
I only ever use my ally docked to an XG mobile gpu. So I never actually use it in hand held mode. Itās become my home away from home desktop setup at my gfs house
I almost solely use my Ally now. My PC started to act up and crashes when I put stress on it... Haven't been able to figure it out on my own .. and it's about 5 years old so due for an upgrade. So I don't want to pay someone to fix it
Steam and Epic games give away free games each week. Decent games too. I got Ghostrunner for free from Epic and I still play that on my Ally. With frame gen you can pull 100-120 fps.
I don't play my PC at all anymore lol or my console, my Ally reigns supreme above all even tho my desktop is far superior. I would recommend SMITE and Destiny 2, those are my go to games. I'm also currently playing the Final Fantasy VII Remake, it runs perfectly on the Ally as well. Some other games are Palworld, Warframe, Xdefiant, uhm, there's a long list lol just don't try to play a COD title on the Ally, I won't even risk installing one because of all the bans that get handed out because of the Ally, if I want to play COD I'll use my desktop.
Ive been using the ally a bit more recently, only because i use it to LEGALLY emulate my switch games. Playing through all of the Xenoblade series at work.
Tbh I use my ally for more chill games and my pc for more competitive games ir games were I want to appreciate graphics
This is the way
What do you use the gaming laptop for?
Work and I aldo bought it before the ally ever came out...
I use my ally in bed or when my son is playing at an indoor thing we have in town. If im hanging out with the fam gaming im on the laptop. If they're gone or in bed and im serious its on the pc.

Exactly me also
My ally is my PC
This is the way!

Ally wouldn't handle raids?
It Most likely does, but it would be super uncomfortable playing on a 7" screen
I like playing wow more on rog ally because it's more comfortable.
I'm sure it'd run them fine, tiny screen tho
Ah ok. Makes sense. Didn't think about that. I thought it was just overload for the Z1E
My PC is literally only used for csgo, Tarkov, and Valorant or anything my friends want to play aside from that, like Elden Ring, which I've been hooked on it playing on the ally. Not sure it counts but I play my PC THROUGH my Ally (Moonlight streaming) more than I actually play directly on my gaming PC. Itās just too damn convenient
Did you try Parsec as well? That's what I'm using right now and like it, but I see Moonlight suggested quite often
No basically started with Nvidia Gamestream + Moonlight but when GameStream was retired, I switched to Sunshine on the host PC and kept Moonlight on the client. Havenāt had any issues streaming 1080p 120fps
Oh nice! Getting that right now with my main PC streaming Outer Worlds. You're right it's the way to go!
Thatās why I do too, even games that can be played on my ally it makes much more sense to stream with maxed settings on my PC.
I use my ally much more than my pc, playing world of warcraft in bed has been amazing
Are you using controller support?
I am yeah, it's an addon called ConsolePort! Runs really well
I want to use ConsolePort so bad, but I dread the initial button setup
Thanks I'll look it up.
I play the Ally more. If it's a game native on the Ally or if I'm streaming FROM my main lol. The freedom is just too good to be stuck sweaty at a desk.

Thank you!
My laptop was average at best, so I do play more with my Ally nowadays.
My desktop basically never gets turned on since I got the Ally so yeah.
I play on my Rog more than my laptop. It goes where I go!
Diablo and switch emulation

I sold my regular pc
Go to r/CDWTP

I used to play my pc more but now I can lay in bed and play my ally and honestly I do that more than my pc
I play with my Ally more because my usual setup has gone obsolete in the sense that it shutters and lags more than the ROG Ally.
My man, my Ally IS my regular PC.
I use my ally as an extension of my PC using Moonlight to stream. Get all the power of my main rig in the hands of my mobile ally.
My Ally is my PC. I have it docked for sitting down sessions and take with me on the go.
I use it for single player games. It's too small to use for games that you need to be a bit more competitive on
I have a gaming PC with 64GB of ram and a 4070 of some flavor. It just sits there because of my Ally and MacBook. It has mostly been replaced :(
Same boat, I have a 64 gigs with a 2080 super, I turn it on to do some personal business on occasion video editing, or large photo editing, but I rarely ever game on it anymore... thinking of putting it on a big screen to use it as a game console, the Ally works ok at 1080p, but it would be nice to utilize the full desktop on the couch without streaming, and with full HDR

my ally is my PC lol
I have an "alright" computer (ryzen 7 5700, rtx3060ti, 32gb ram) and i didnt used it since last year when i bought ally.
I see my self playing alot of wuthering waves lately
since i got mine, ive never touch my pc.. i found out im more of a couch gamer than sitting at my desk
Iām sorry that I donāt have many free game recommendations, but Xbox game pass has an insane amount of games available on it and itās by far the best value for money. Also, Steam summer sale is taking place right now so you can get a lot of insanely good games for like a dollar or two
Honestly I use my ally for all gaming. If it's a AAA game that doesn't run well on the Ally I'll stream it from my PC.

Gears of war plays amazingly
Im jealous of all of you that have xg mobiles
I mostly play wizard 101 on my couch with my ally. It's so good but I can't figure out how to control the haptics on it
Brawhalla š
Steam and Epic games give away free games each week. Decent games too. I got Ghostrunner for free from Epic and I still play that on my Ally. With frame gen you can pull 100-120 fps.

I donāt use my pc anymote
I actually use my ally as my regular gaming pc as my main gaming pc is stuck in another country
Ive been using the ally a bit more recently, only because i use it to LEGALLY emulate my switch games. Playing through all of the Xenoblade series at work.
I definitely use it more, but when I want to see good graphics, then I turn in my Desktop and remote through parsec and play in ultra quality
