“Hey, Ruby, wanna go on a date?” Ruby: No *hands over book* “How about now?” Ruby: Heck, yeah, I do!

With worldbuilding akinto the trails of series

kinamo922

I've said it many times before, and I'll keep saying it, A RWBY game that plays like Monster Hunter would be great, so many pieces are already there. You have Grimm for every "size" category, that rank up in difficulty, super powerful, almost one of a kind Grimm that can serve as the powerful close to end game stuff, a precedence for Huntsmen creating their own weapons a lot like the actual Monster Hunter series, and a variety of environments to hunt in. Frankly, I'm shocked no one has at least attempted to mod a Monster Hunter game to have RWBY stuff.

KobraKittyKat

Literally the god eater series

PhenomsServant

Make a DMC style hack and slash.

Thatll-Do

I think in terms of combat/weapon design, I'd aim for a Soulslike but with a more direct story. Preferably an original story because I feel like a lot of the stories and arcs from the show wouldn't translate well to a video game experience.

Toxinelle13

It would be an open world MMO called “Welcome to Remnant”.

Iron_Imperator

This. An MMO would be a goldmine for RWBY.

MegaMann14

Easy. A Warriors spinoff like Hyrule Warriors or Dragon Quest Heroes

SaintOfPride201

Honestly, either a massive open-world JRPG like FFXV or a massive open-world MMORPG like PSO2 where you can freely explore the world around you and everything. For the normal JRPG I'd like Team RWBY to be playable, but if it's an MMO, I prefer custom characters. Make EXTREME USE of the open world with heavy use of environmental storytelling. The landscapes being riddled with settlements, both surviving and fallen. Have the fallen ones have a form of storytelling, to tell us how they fell (their only huntsman died, a village-wide depression brought the grimm, bandit attacks, etc), through either letters, NPCs, or simple items. RWBY had laid EXCELLENT foundations for worldbuilding, so it shouldn't be a problem. For combat, either make it like PSO2 or Metal Gear Rising. Studio I'd want to handle it would be maybe Square Enix or Bandai. Maybe made in the Unreal Engine as well.

kylemon73

A dynasty warriors battle game with Ruby No idea for wiess A breaking and entering stealth game (breaking into a SDC facility) for Blake A motorcycle racing game with brawler elements for yang

KenchiNarukami

Open world, slice of life, plot progression system like in Persona 3, 4 and 5 with dating sim feature like in a the Persona games or in visual novels with optional R18 scenes like in Nekopara but open world combat like in Fire Emblem Warriors with the player in a custom made Avatar like in Fire Emblem Awakening, Fates and Three houses.

Acriolu

A RWBY fighting game that a 2v2 where you can swap between the two characters and depending on which two characters you have it’ll be a different super move named after the different ships names.

GladiusNocturno

JRPG with a 4 character team. Not just team RWBY. You get a large roster of characters and get to build your own team with them. However, some characters like Ruby and Jaune get passive skills if placed on the leader role of the team. Like Ruby gives a speed boost to the whole team, while Jaune boosts their defenses. Characters would have a health bar and an aura bar. While the aura bar is up, health is recovered each turn, and the character takes less damage to their hp. Aura is spent to use semblance skills. Each turn the characters will have a choice between a melee attack, a ranged attack, a skill (which could be semblance or non-semblance depending on the character), an item option, and a standby option. Melee attacks and ranged attacks can have dust effects based on the dust equipped to the character. Each character has a limited amount of dust slots which varies from character to character. Skills cost aura and these are your semblances. Why call it skills and not semblances? Because there are characters with skills that aren’t semblances like Ilia’s color changing. To balance things out, non-semblance skills would largely be utility and support based with semblances having stronger effects but an aura cost. Items is for using healing item, basic rpg shit. And standby makes the character skip their turn but recover health and aura. Enemies units would vary between ground units and flying units. Flying units are immune to melee attacks unless some special effect grounds them like the use of electricity, ice and gravity.

Upstairs-Yard-2139

Either an action rpg, or maybe a shooter.

Disastrous-Radio-786

I’ve got a few ideas for some genres an MMO, a JRPG, a mystery game, an arcade game, a beat em up, and a side-scrolling like mega man

EstablishmentCool443

Rwby fighting game akin 3v3 akin to mvc3 And dragon ball fighterz.

Archivist2016

RPG.

superbasic101

An RPG similar to the Mario and Luigi games, where you have to do small Minigames to execute team attacks/duo attacks.

Lulcielid

A classic arcade beat em up game.

Lolcthulhu

A 4x grand strategy like Civilization where the *only* way to win is to cultivate maximum citizen happiness.

Sea-Department2474

A game where you can design your own character and team, you can go through life at Beacon, follow the story, explore the world of remnant.

Kynandra

Picture this, Dynasty Warriors but with Grimm

ProfessorEscanor

A warriors game where you destroy hordes of Grimm and capture points in the city.

Cloakydokibit

I would want a MMORPG. Where you could create your character, weapon, and story behind them to fit in/ be an outcast while you progress through the main story line with the whole RWBY original line up. You could shape and change events into a new AU or follow along the story as it progress like in the series. I'd say like FFXIV online, but better and more awesome. I'd call Grimm Adventures: The world of Remnant MMORPG ™️. I imagine the box art is just a like a marvel style poster, but with a bunch of the RWBY characters we all know and love/ hate. I'd pay top dollar for that.

RWBYhatershater

Hack and slash 3d platformer with repetitive moves, an unsatisfying skill upgrade system, and 8 playable characters, 7 of which have costumes past volume 3. Just spit balling...

lr031099

Either a hack and slash game like DMC, GoW and Bayonetta OR maybe a RPG game like Pokémon and Final Fantasy

ThenEcho2275

Open world game BUT... You can be other things rather then a hunter You can run like a dust company and maybe even challenge the SDC It's like Albion online except there are pre-made companies like the SDC and other important buildings Problem with that is their are only 5 islands that are already nations an no other so new content is gonna be hard outside of items (probably new dust types)

WideEyedJanitor

Ideally the scope should be very limited. A smaller initial game with only one playable character like ruby. A linear hack and slash in 3d with a unique dodging+attacking system could show off some of the strengths of the combat from the show. I would be curious to see a developer team combine analog stick movement with different buttons for different angles of trajectory for jump boosts. Pairing combat with contextual finishers, similar to how Doom has "glory kills", would be a dream. I envision activating the animation with a short dash to get in melee range with a short window of time to choose the direction you want to move to, shooting behind you (possibly hitting an enemy), the animation will play a different version based on which side of the enemy you are oriented from, then swing clean through with momentum. Maybe this could form a chain of finishers and be like a dance of death. Granted, I don't make games, so good implementation is beyond me. By having a small project I believe the game studio would get good experience of what works and what doesn't so that a bigger game with all the characters can have a better chance. In addition to grimm eclipse, weren't there a couple of fangames for the red trailer? I'm curious what those developers learned from their time working on those projects.
