Fuck, seriously? You’d think the game publishers legal team would go after them at least to get the ads pulled. But this is Ubi we’re talking about so I’m not surprised
On what legal ground would Ubi sue Google over? This makes no sense - even if it wasn't Ubisoft.
Technically it's not illegal to offer a service to rent "4 friends" to play with you. It's different on the user side though.
Gaming companies have sued cheaters and scammers in the past. Not google for advertising them, but the cheaters (and the makers) themselves.
Boosting is a bit different because supposedly it's just really good players getting a bad one to an elo they can't reach, but I think they're speaking more generally than the specific ad in the picture.
Bungie is suing someone because they posted an employees ID and that bungie should “keep their doors locked”. How is that related in any way to Google having boosting ads?
But if we consider declining playerbase as "dying", then despite both Apex and Rainbow Six being complained about a lot, Rainbow six is dying and Apex is holding quite well
I love apex but the match making is trash on apex bcs and def not a beginner friendly game bcs of how much smurf and people with a really high rank match with you
Don't worry, everyone got what you meant.
Your English will improve over time.
Just keep on writing and chatting in English and ignore the grammar trolls.
But don't ignore the ones that give genuine non angry advice.
Apex was great. Till I didn’t play it for a while to come back to find I was permanently banned. Like I hadn’t played it for a year or two. All was well when I logged off and bam a ban.
Same! I really got tired of teammates on Rainbow raging like no other for every person’s mistakes. I think the R6 player base started to get real toxic. It became no longer fun to play solo or with a team after awhile. I loved Siege since day 1 and I deleted it a month ago. Don’t miss it one bit. It’ll always have my heart though!
Apex doesn't have the learning curve that Siege does - which is what makes it a miserable experience to learn when you're stuck playing with people who know maps and the different operators/guns. In Apex it's very much just go fast shoot gun have fun.
Apex can still get new players en masse to replace any burnouts, Siege can't.
I made a bunch of Siege characters in XCOM 2, and honestly it revitalized Siege for me.
Just, in XCOM 🥴
Edit because this is fun: I mean it's a *little* limited and there's a bit of redundancy and imagination gymnastics in their kit, but I figured I was more interested in catching the spirit of the characters and their kit since they're more than just like *"oh why does Hibana use a rotary machinegun wut?"* It's more like, *"Well, she's only using a rotary machinegun because she's a Grenadier class so she can use her iconic launcher to blow holes in walls :D!"*
Mainly I'm satisfied because I managed to evoke some of what makes them iconic, I've been sticking true to the spirit of their kit and it's been super enjoyable having to play it out like that. For example, Smoke carries exclusively Gas and Acid grenades, regardless of whether that's XCOM-optimal. [Echo](https://i.imgur.com/pzgF47g.png) and [Lion](https://i.imgur.com/fK3Zyxz.png) are both Specialists for the lil XCOM Gremlin drone, and both carry Battle Scanner grenades for intel on enemy locations (because both operators are used to 'see enemies' in Siege), but Echo also carries Flash grenades (ie: Yokai's concussion) and I have Lion carrying Proximity Mines (like his Claymores in Siege). Dokkaebi is exclusively hacker drone and flash grenades, for another. I made Iana a PsiOp because she's cool af, and I wanted to make her stand out... but also because PsiOps have white hair :v
It's honestly been really, really enjoyable seeing our favorite operators in this new light, out there running missions and covert ops together. I firmly believe that more crowd-favorite franchises shouldn't be afraid to take their stories into different genres of games. It's world building. There's a lot of stories to tell.

People complain instead of taking a break from a game and stop limiting themselves to a certain genre or a certain game instead of goin to try and play others its so many games out there either single player or multi its ok to come back to a game 2-3 yrs later or however many yrs for a person to feel like playing that game again.
I think games that take 1 hour to complete are dead.
Regardless, the biggest market is those who spend money.
So you have to be old enough to make money.
Adults, don't have 1 hours to do 4 rounds and get steamrolled that entire hour.
Same thing with battle royals. How much fire fight time do you actually have? The whole game is designed around long periods of Dopamine restriction.
Reading through these comments is so funny to me. I haven't played in a few years but the comments are almost identical to what people would say about Siege back in 2016.
It's been like a year or two since the last time I played but I think the game has been dead even before that. I don't know anyone irl that played the game after 2019 or 2020 and I don't see a lot of popular content creators play it either. Even people who got famous with Siege stopped playing it.
To be fair though the only thing keep the older games alive is modding. Half-Life 1 deathmatch is still going strong but you'll probably never find a server playing a default game map.
Take the hint Ubisoft.
Honestly Ubisoft's Walt Disney levels of control freakism over their games is doing them in. With the exception of the great Far Cry map creators Ubisoft will seemingly never allow players to create things. Almost no mod support ever and even in their games they allow so little altering of the core experience. R6 Siege has legitimately the weakest custom games settings I have ever seen in a first person shooter. Fucking Halo 1 has more options here. Why can't I give the ops 300% run speed, 4000% health, no gravity, and bottomless clips with unlimited lives? It's a custom game nobody would care.
Some Ubisoft games are just screaming to be modded. The Crew especially in my opinion. Like cmon the whole open world is the continuous United States of America and you are WASTING IT ON A RACING GAME? It's not even a bad gameplay loop either just that they created probably the coolest open world ever and then only used it on one specific type of subgenre when I think most people would prefer just to do sight seeing or anything else really.
For me it's not that I hate learning new maps, I love(d). The problem is that nowadays, Ubisoft's map design boiis down to "oh look if we had one square kilometer of useless rooms necessary to go to the site, the game is gonna be tactical and fun !!!1!!1!!!nnn".
Just look at what they did to older maps (I'm looking at you house/hereford/favela...). While they were not the most competitive, they made for the funniest (imo) and coolest games because you didn't have to wait for 10 minutes (even worse now with pick and ban and everything) to start shooting at someone.
Which is weird. Back in the day, when Rainbow first came out, and I mean the originals. You could mod the shit out of it, custom maps, weapons.
Ghost recon comes out with the same deal. The custom maps and weapon packs for the OG games were amazing when those communities were around.
Agreed, it’s great the game has lasted as long as it has but a 7 year old game is going to eventually start to show its age and lose players. Imo the engine itself just feels very dated at this point and a siege 2 on a new engine would be a very welcomed release. I’m an OG alpha player who hasn’t played the game in probably a year or so. But, I would happily jump back in for a sequel.
It ain't. Steam currently has an average of 60k players and that's not counting people playing on the Ubisoft launcher, epic games, or console guys. It's doing just fine.
People are still playing it, but ubi is getting worse and worse at supporting the game. The game could be doing so much better if we even had a half competent company running it. Don't blame the devs though, definitely a corporate issue
True, they were doing a good job (except with the bugs ig) but it just didn't last. I think the devs are out of touch (basing balancing around the win deltas too much and the like) but the devs definitely aren't to blame for the recent lack of content and cheating issues, seems more like the ubi higher ups to me
Still leagues better than how EA would have handled siege
Thats good news. And a happy cake day to you.
Obe mire thing tho. How can you have multiple flairs? I see some people have 3 mains tagged or something and i wondered how to do that.
It’s slowly bleeding players I feel. This season seems like a total dud to me.
Sens is very very mediocre
The battle pass is pretty atrocious
The Wolfguard stuff is as uninteresting as the cosmetics are ugly
MUTE Protocol is just gun game but bad
Cheaters galore
The past 4 times I’ve logged in, in plat elo, I’ve either gained or lost elo due to cheaters in that message. It’s like they are in every fucking match lol.
They lost me when they changed the year/season pass format. I used to buy it every year for the ops and discount in shops because I don't have time to grind renown all year.
Now I rarely play in a year.
I've been playing since 2015-2016 and since year 3-4, game is dying according to social media... Every year people who stopped playing or had bad experience rant on Reddit, Twitter etc. but here we are, on our 7th year :D
Of course Siege lose players as every other game but the difference is the accepting rate. Siege has steep learning curve which leads to many newcomers leaving the game without really getting into it.
So my take is, game ain't dying unless Ubi makes some stupid changes/mistakes because there is no alternative to Siege. I hope we'll see year 10 in Siege :D
Edit: Regarding toxicity, I think I am very lucky because I never, yes never, get Tk'ed or had toxicity for a long time. I am Mid-Low Plat and generally try to play competitively. There were few people who yelled or screamed but thats it. Generally my games are either very nice and everyone is talking, chatting and giving info or everyone is just silent. No TK nothing. Unlike many people who complain here, I've had many people who used Rainbow bg and nobody gave a single F about it.
These R6 youtubers make a "R6 is dead" type of clickbait video every couple of months, then continue playing the game as if nothing happened because it earns them money...
Ngl this is on of the first reasonable comments on this subreddit, regarding the state of the game. Ussually all you hear when the question "is R6 dying?" is asked, is just "yes because i had a bad experience and Ubi bad", which at this point honestly bothers me more that any mistake Ubisoft has ever done i think...
Thank you, I normally ignore those people/posts since I got used to them overtime but I think someone should just tell them the facts or other side of the coin :D
Yes Ubi ain't best and they make a lot of mistakes but game is 7 YEARS OLD, it shows that they did something(s) right. How many games that are actively played these days are on the market this long? It's not even free to play game, cheap but not free. It has it's own problems but it's nowhere near dead or unplayable.
idiot r6s players call r6 dead the same way payday 2 players call the game dead... as in the game isnt dead and they just need words to spew out of their mouths
Your right though 7 years is pretty good for a game, but at this rate I’d be surprised if it makes it to 10.
Personally I feel like it’s losing players, not necessarily dying but definitely badly injured, I’ve also played siege for a while and I think that the latest seasons have been getting worse. Ubisoft has made plenty of mistake, my least favorite being the removal of bodies, and they continue to make more dumb decisions in the name of balancing.
The real problem is a lack of an alternative competitor. On console the only game I can see even stepping up to siege is insurgency, and pc has plenty of options but none popular enough to truly replace siege. But with the shit quality of Ubisoft lately they might just kill it by themselves.
But don’t get me wrong if ubi turns siege around that would be great, I just think the golden days are long gone.
I love how every negative critisicm nowadays is instantly "hating". If the game obviously has issues and somebody points them out, is not "hating", it's stating facts.
I disagree personally he enjoys it and he doesn’t hate it he makes videos on cheaters which isn’t exactly hating on siege just posting about cheaters siege has many flaws as well so it’s quite fair for that varsity also makes videos on ranks etc
Nothing but gaining players until about operation chimera. It started going downhill with a some because of pandemic. Now it's back to losing players again.
They’re just bold enough to pay to get their ads served to people who are watching siege content. I get actual video ads for Destiny 2 boosting services, served in the mid-roll of Destiny 2 content. They’re apparently making enough money at it to just no give af
People have been saying this for years. I joined in health and they said it was dying back then too. I think this is a coping mechanism for when people are mad at Ubisoft for whatever reason is currently popular.
Anyone who’s burnt out on the game will come here and say it’s dead because they personally aren’t having as much fun as they used to.
I just came back from a 4 year break and I’m having more fun than ever, enjoying the new game modes, and the player count is higher than I ever remember it being.
The gap between its competitors is huge though. Like PUBG is dwarfing them rn. Maybe fallen off is the better phrase because it's nowhere as big as it was
I wholeheartedly believe that if this game is dying, which I couldn’t say whether it is or isn’t, it’s more on the console side of the spectrum. The reason why I believe this is because I personally know quite a few people who have simply given up on the game due to so many people running MnK. The community is just flooding with MnK players and honestly it ruins it. Imo there’s no defending MnK players, play on controller like you’re supposed to on console and stop looking for a cheap advantage. “oH bUT thErES dIsAdVanTaGes tO mNk tOo” yeah I don’t wanna fuckin hear it, the advantages vastly outweigh the disadvantages to it. All it tells me is that you’re too scared to play in a PC lobby and instead you have to boost you ego by playing against controller players. The sad reality is that there’s nothing that can be done to prevent people from playing MnK, which only provides more room for that toxic side of the community to grow. So yeah there’s my take, I could go more into detail but I just don’t have the energy lmao,
There's definitely a reason why half of the people in the Discord call make a groan of disgust when someone mentions Seige while we're looking for something to play. I think a very large part of it is how much fun we used to have playing it, and you just can't seem to get that experience anymore.
Nah, Siege was dying 2 years ago. Right now it's a walking rotten corpse of what it used to be. The day Ubisoft moved core original team, to work on something else, was the day they officially killed this game.
For me the hardest part about siege is the breakable terrain, combination of shit monitor and shit eyes I can't really see/notice of someone peek, or some spot its really hard to noticed until you get killed or get bullet hole peeked.
I know I am shit at the game and its ski issue, still those early hour where I get domed from out of nowhere is very frustrating. I drop the game not long after
They need to step up and do more against cheaters, or it is going to continue to slowly bleed players. When me and my friends play against 5+ cheaters every session, it's understandable that people are feeling done with the game.
I used to like the old siege before all the gadget updates...my opinion is that all of this unreal gadgets destroying r6..
Persnoaly stopped playing since early 2021!!
I stopped playing for 2 years. And came back to worse character models than before (like wtf did they do to my girl cav) weird new operators and ugly icons
It’s definitely dying. There’s so much MnK on console that none of my friends want to play. And in before people say only plat and above. Silver is filled with diamond rank MnK boosters. It’s horrendous and I don’t really wanna play as much anymore.
I feel like R6 has not only a problem of players leaving, but it also has a tough time bringing in new people at this point. I’ve known pretty much everything there is to know since very early on, been at it since 2015, and sometimes I forget how much information I actually have on this game, all the operators, gadgets, maps, which walls and ceilings lead where, drone holes, known angles to look out for, unknown angles to look out for, spawn peeks, gun sounds, gun skins, defensive and offensive strats, and the list goes on and on and on and you just try to pile everything together, it is actually insane. I can’t say I fully understand what it is to be a new player at this point, but I can probably guess that it must feel rather intimidating.
At this point, I’m ready to just call it like it is. Siege had a good, unlikely run considering how badly it launched. It blew up and had some great, memorable years that I’ll always appreciate. It’s now approaching 8 years old which is a pretty great run for an FPS title, and we’re seeing support for the game die out slowly as Ubisoft and the player base move on. I think the only way to truly reinvigorate Siege would be effectively ending “Siege 1” and making “Siege 2” with an engine that wasn’t made for Assassin’s Creed 3 a decade ago.
Lot of players are leaving, but it depends on your definition of dead, if it’s like 90% less than the peak than yes siege will die in a year or 2 if things don’t change, but if u think dead means very few are playing and you keep getting the same players every match, than it’s a long way from that a lot of hardcore players that have been playing for years, and siege will end up being more sweaty and more people keep leaving, I’d say one of the major things that’s keeping siege alive is that there’s no real competition or a game that’s similar to siege, only thing that came close was ready or not but even in that game they got rid of the pvp
I got bored of the game around when extrqction was released. Not that I played extraction, just happened to come out then.
Most of the ops since then have either been op on launch, not interesting or just filler. Theyve run out of ideas it feels. Plus new maps basically never come out anymore too.
Chimera and Para Bellum were the beginning of the end for Siege for me. Lion, Finka, and Maestro were absolute tumors on the game when they came out (Maestro still is lmao) and once it went to one operator a season and they slowly stopped adding new maps...yeah, no reason to stick around anymore
Alot of your comments saying R6 is dying, what is this based uppon? Acording to this article (https://siege.gg/news/how-many-people-are-playing-rainbow-six-siege-in-2022) the reality is quite different! Dying and loosing base players are two separate things, R6 is still very populare.
I love how the article specifically states that you shouldnt "let reddit tell you that" the game is dying. It really sums up how this subreddit do be though
The article literally shows the game has 1/4 the players it did during early 2020, let alone before (around 2018) where the graph is clearly higher than current. [You can see for yourself.](https://steamcharts.com/app/359550#1m)
The game won't outright die (for a long time) because of a loyal fanbase, but the game is losing its charm and slowly its players.
Honestly yes beacuse it's like ubi only want's sigue for the money we put for the elite skins and events ,it's like they dont give a shit about sigue status or comunity toxicity
At this point yea it kinda is. I think the only way it can start to grow again is if ubisoft starts to actually work and care about it. Or if another company steps in and buys it off. It is not in a great place atm.
It was my main game for a good 4-5 years but the toxicity has become unbearable for me. I just tried a match yesterday after a year and had to mute 7 people in my first game for mic spamming, insults, homophobia, and racism all in one round. Then I got team killed. And I never said a word, I just played the game normally.
It's just not worth dealing with when I can play any other game without that being an issue.
I stopped playing siege like a year ago, i used to play it on console every single day since 2016 but got a little burnt out, when they drop that cross progression im gonna start playing again on pc
I stop playing siege and went to apex also. I really think siege have too many characters that do the same thing, also, what the point of we having characters that break fortified walls if some other operators do the same? And even fuze granades can go through reinforce walls,i think there are to many characters, you can argue that in apex it begining to be like this in the some characters, but i still enjoy more apex
Yes. It’s a 6 year old game that gets small updates. Remember when we got a map and two operators a season? Now we get one operator and MAYBE a map. It’s just not enough when there are so many new games and games with more frequent updates and not stale meta
Main thing is it loosing the originality in the way of balancing the game. There are lots of elements which are need and mean to make sense. If devs are keep looking on that aspect there will be a problem with balance (statistically).
This whole game is like aerialist. Just lose the balance, the fall begin.
TLDR;
R6 is own by Ubisoft and Ubisoft in trouble with growth and shareholders.
(Note: I don't totally know about the company 's sexual, mental, or physical harassment issues full so I won't try to speak upon it.)
Well at this rate, yes. Why Ubisoft as a company has problems of its own and doesn't want to for some reason add towards R6. What I mean add towards R6 is work on it. Like I'm assuming it's due to Ubisoft as a company has to pull teams to work on new IPs that will make them more money and show more growth for shareholders. That's why there was a massive push for games that were battle royale type games.
(Note: Even if Ubisoft decided to work more towards R6, that's a single part of their company for growth. Plus so far alot of Battle Royale type games from Ubisoft isn't sticking.)
They are losing players as you'd expect from a 6 years old game. But you can expect Ubi milking the game to its last drops cos they are in a shit luck these few years. Beside AC and Far Cry they don't really have anything good. Extraction is alive, but far from well. Same with Riders Republic. Roller Champions was dead on arrival.
And the next one coming? Skull and Bones. Seems on path to be like extraction. People playing it, but meh...
Meaning, they gonna rely on Siege as long as possible...
With so many operators now it feels like LoL or Dota: Where do I start and is it even worth it? In many games I personally have learned (CS:GO, Rocket League, racing games etc.) the start is easy and learning curve is not too steep.
The *ONE* thing they need to do is to figure out how to counter cheaters/smurfers/Mnk cheaters on Consoles/XiM cheaters, the game will be flourishing tbh. I personally do not care if they don't release new content for a year, if the cheaters are gone, it'll be better.
(Ubi plz speed up console crossplay thank you)
I think it's more just not really growing much anymore, rather than losing a bunch of players. If it doesn't make a no mans sky level of improvement it probably will start dying within 3-4 years imo
For a good few years it was solid with growing interest.
Unfortunately the slowing down of map and operator releases plus the cheaters on PC and MnK on console killed the game slowly
I have a serious problem with siege, I play like a lot on ps4 but only in certain moments of the year like Christmas and summer but every time I go back to the game it just feel worse, the guns are all nerfed, the magnified scopes are disappearing, the game it’s full of cronus cheaters and premades of 5 so i get frustrated by the state of the game and stop playing so fast, anyone else feeling the same way?
Yeah I do, used to play the game a few years ago and it was so much better, ash acog, bandit and Jäger were godlike and so much fun to play. The match ranking worked and was fun. More people played. There weren’t a million operators, and who remembers lion eh? When that motherfucker released I had so much fun.
A few operators later and they’re just reusing guns so it’s boring, no OP operators, shit just gets added for the sake of being added and it got boring. It was undeniably better when 6 operators had different guns not the same.
It got boring and repetitive the only differences between operators being a secondary and the special abilities which becomes boring after a while.
If they started actually having real weapons, different weapons, and weapons that were op again for a certain amount of time the game would be fun again. Also 2 OPs a season.
as someone who left siege, yeah I think its dying. what got me and my friends hooked was a fast 5v5 modern tactical shooter where you could blow open walls. now its a fast 5v5 futuristic hero shooter where you can blow open walls, even the reinforced ones, without a dedicated hard breacher. I get that they were trying to pivot to what they thought made the game great, but I think the focus on adding new ops every season made the gadgets become more and more outlandish and futuristic, when me and my friends got into it for a modern shooter with the neat feature of walls you can get rid of, that was the focus. now the focus is "look at the cool new operator and their futuristic gadget"
Yes i stopped playin that shit hella long ago and i was a player when it dropped til like vigil or whatever his name was a little after that is when i kinda stopped playing vigils shotgun was fun asf ngl
I've been playing since 2016 red crow, I miss the lighting, the blood, they've censored everything now. Miss the night maps, miss claymore from hibanna etc.. I finally stopped after Mira nerf.
Yes. I think that the game lost its identity a long time ago, and I think that it maybe was a good thing for a long time because it gave competitive FPS communities a game to be really good at for, what, 7 years? I think now that Ubisoft is under the gun for ruining other Tom Clancy franchises and the tactical shooter/milsim community has gotten larger than ever, there is a lot of Ubisoft scrutiny occurring. One of the biggest points of conversation here is R6 and how Siege feels so alienated from the rest of the franchise. I personally disagree and I think Siege is a great game, and I think it's actually still pretty tacticool and a solid tactical shooter, and fits perfectly into the Rainbow Six universe since Tom Clancy absolutely adored next generation military tech and borderline sci-fi gadgets. Rest in peace, old boy. Still, you can see the differences between then and now very easily in terms of tone and general grit. I think recent attempts at TC games, such as R6 Extraction, XDefiant, and most controversially Ghost Recon: Frontline, have fully soured the taste of all Tom Clancy games for a large number of people. Couple that with the fact that most people who were known for making Siege content have left the game either out of boredom or distaste, and yeah Siege is a dying game. It should be a dying game, though. I know I contradict myself by saying that but every game eventually has to stop getting support so that a new game can come out, and Siege is a game that has needed a sequel with modernized gameplay for a long time.
Looking at Steam, in April 2020 it peaked at 120k, current 30 day average is 39k, so yes absolutely. The cheating is ridiculous, I genuinely faced two people doing full blatant HvH in one of my games yesterday, I rarely even saw that in CS and that's saying something considering I played during the peak of CS cheating. I remember switching over to Siege because it was a game with much less cheaters than CS, but now I'd honestly say it's the other way round
Gaming is dying. Quality in games has severely dropped over the years. Micro transactions around every corner. Devs that don’t care for the customer just money.
For me personally the game died when they started butchering the maps because people didn't know how to properly attack certain objectives.
To me the maps aren't meant to be perfectly balanced as the matches are meant to be training exercises lore wise. The most fun matches were when the opponents got a strong objective to hold and the mind games you would have to play to lure them into Friendly lines of sight.
Tldr game gooder back when it wasn't idiot proof
Also give IQ her grenades back (ya that's how long I've been gone lmao)
I’m not an avid player, and tbh it’s a decently challenging game for me so it’s common I stop playing for a while and come back randomly. Tbh I think it is dying. The updates and battle pass are trying to save it but it ain’t doin much. Tbh the main reason I keep coming back is for the random fun events. Like the Samurai one was really fun, and the current…whatever tf this current mode is with the futuristic crap. But ye. Otherwise it’s dying.
No, I just believe that the people who play just don't want to get into arguments with people who will say siege is dying even if the number of players increase, twitch viewer ship goes up, the devs do something good for game health, or major attendance increases. No matter what good the siege ecosystem gets there will always be people saying that the game is dying and there is always something bad. This isn't just siege, it's every game that isn't on a yearly release cycle.
Lmao the cheat makers making so much money they advertise on YT now. What has this world come to?
Google has been advertising cheaters and scammers for years, it's not uncommon so I assume not that expensive either
Fuck, seriously? You’d think the game publishers legal team would go after them at least to get the ads pulled. But this is Ubi we’re talking about so I’m not surprised
you pay like 2000-4000$ for like 250k Reach, and these ads that arent played as a clip inbefore videos are even cheaper Edit: "more cheaper" 💀
The only company that has balls is Bungie. Look at their recent lawsuits
Bungie is suing someone because they posted an employees ID and that bungie should “keep their doors locked”. How is that related in any way to Google having boosting ads?
They also sued a cheat maker, got 13.5m in 'damages'
No, they're suing someone who was falsely copyright claiming videos under Bungie's name, and went so far as to take down Bungie's own videos.
Cheats make a lot of money. That’s not a recent thing.
Slowly, yes. Honestly the only time I hear of Siege anymore is when people complain.
Same for apex but that game definitely isn't dying
But if we consider declining playerbase as "dying", then despite both Apex and Rainbow Six being complained about a lot, Rainbow six is dying and Apex is holding quite well
I left Siege for Apex. I tried to leave Apex but it keeps me coming back. Waiting for the next big game I guess.
Apex is nice, the balancing team is questionable but I love this game
I love apex but the match making is trash on apex bcs and def not a beginner friendly game bcs of how much smurf and people with a really high rank match with you
That hurt my head to read
Yeah my english kinda suck but my point is,that the match making isnt really fair in apex
I can agree. I’ve been playing apex since it came out and matchmaking has NEVER been good. Only exception was at the start when everyone was bad
Don't worry, everyone got what you meant. Your English will improve over time. Just keep on writing and chatting in English and ignore the grammar trolls. But don't ignore the ones that give genuine non angry advice.
Thank you :)
Come on Titanfall 3 🤞
Man that came out like 3 months ago, remember? The Inferno Titan was op? Anyway where are my meds
Don't even 💔
I actively play both for maximum depression
Apex was great. Till I didn’t play it for a while to come back to find I was permanently banned. Like I hadn’t played it for a year or two. All was well when I logged off and bam a ban.
I left Siege for Apex, left Apex for Valorant, now all I do is watch pro matches of all three, it's more fun that way.
Just, in XCOM 🥴 Edit because this is fun: I mean it's a *little* limited and there's a bit of redundancy and imagination gymnastics in their kit, but I figured I was more interested in catching the spirit of the characters and their kit since they're more than just like *"oh why does Hibana use a rotary machinegun wut?"* It's more like, *"Well, she's only using a rotary machinegun because she's a Grenadier class so she can use her iconic launcher to blow holes in walls :D!"* Mainly I'm satisfied because I managed to evoke some of what makes them iconic, I've been sticking true to the spirit of their kit and it's been super enjoyable having to play it out like that. I made Iana a PsiOp because she's cool af, and I wanted to make her stand out... but also because PsiOps have white hair :v It's honestly been really, really enjoyable seeing our favorite operators in this new light, out there running missions and covert ops together. I firmly believe that more crowd-favorite franchises shouldn't be afraid to take their stories into different genres of games. It's world building. There's a lot of stories to tell. Speaking of stories, special shoutout to [Vigil](https://i.imgur.com/14Czgdr.png) and [[REDACTED]](https://i.imgur.com/pN9BkwF.png), two of the best infiltrators on the team. Mainly because Ubisoft doesn't know what "patch" or "original" means.
People complain since day 1 lol
Its definitely losing players, and will die eventually unless ubi steps up.
every game dies eventually
Most of games dies, CS GO LOL DOTA and a few more still alive somehow
CS is way too big and too Old to Just die cuz cs is already 23 years Old with players playing even older versions of cs
True lol, there’s still a pretty large CSS player base
If there is one thing I could predict when it comes to R6 is that player made maps would be fucking awful
Within the first hour a Dust2 clone would be made.
The warowl rule
I don't think Siege would benefit from player created maps. People don't even like learning new or reworked maps because they like familiarity.
If it has a dedicated fanbase, it will survive.
It has
Can’t forget about tf2
CSGO is the perfect FPS formula imo, so it can't die
Some games never truly die, look at evolve, titanfall 2, teamfortress 2
Yep
Unless it's cs, lol or tf2
Game came out 7 years ago, it's allowed to die eventually. There are very few games out there that have managed to be evergreen.
But, I would happily jump back in for a sequel.
there will be a big spike in s4
Doubt
it propably will be the biggest of the updates
I hope its not. I just started playing it with some friends again. (Havent played for a couple of years)
You do have to give Ubi a bit of credit for saving the game. Every other company would have just dropped seige by s2.
True, they were doing a good job (except with the bugs ig) but it just didn't last. I think the devs are out of touch (basing balancing around the win deltas too much and the like) but the devs definitely aren't to blame for the recent lack of content and cheating issues, seems more like the ubi higher ups to me Still leagues better than how EA would have handled siege
Thats good news. And a happy cake day to you. Obe mire thing tho. How can you have multiple flairs? I see some people have 3 mains tagged or something and i wondered how to do that.
Go to flairs then edit, type for example :Mute: Mute Main :Ash: Ash Main
It’s dying, but it still has a moderate amount of players.
It’s slowly bleeding players I feel. This season seems like a total dud to me. Sens is very very mediocre The battle pass is pretty atrocious The Wolfguard stuff is as uninteresting as the cosmetics are ugly MUTE Protocol is just gun game but bad Cheaters galore
I swear the servers have gotten worse the whole lobby had 200 ping for a full 2 rounds 1 game
Sens’ gadget is cool conceptually but their gun is unusable. Doesn’t help that ubi ruined ARs in general
I've been playing since 2015-2016 and since year 3-4, game is dying according to social media... Every year people who stopped playing or had bad experience rant on Reddit, Twitter etc. but here we are, on our 7th year :D Of course Siege lose players as every other game but the difference is the accepting rate. Siege has steep learning curve which leads to many newcomers leaving the game without really getting into it. So my take is, game ain't dying unless Ubi makes some stupid changes/mistakes because there is no alternative to Siege. I hope we'll see year 10 in Siege :D Edit: Regarding toxicity, I think I am very lucky because I never, yes never, get Tk'ed or had toxicity for a long time.
The meaning of a "dead game" has lost all meaning. When siege has a player base of 1000 or less you'll be able to call it dead.
As a Battlefield 2042 player, If this game is dead what about my dear Battlefield :(
As a h1z1 player If siege is dead then what is h1z1?
Buried in the deepest parts of hell
These R6 youtubers make a "R6 is dead" type of clickbait video every couple of months, then continue playing the game as if nothing happened because it earns them money...
That's why I try not to follow "click baiter" youtubers. I don't need anyones opinion, I just wanna have fun.
Thank you, I normally ignore those people/posts since I got used to them overtime but I think someone should just tell them the facts or other side of the coin :D Yes Ubi ain't best and they make a lot of mistakes but game is 7 YEARS OLD, it shows that they did something(s) right. How many games that are actively played these days are on the market this long? It's not even free to play game, cheap but not free. It has it's own problems but it's nowhere near dead or unplayable.
I’m in the same boat as you and feel the exact same way. People have been saying siege is dying for years. lol
idiot r6s players call r6 dead the same way payday 2 players call the game dead... as in the game isnt dead and they just need words to spew out of their mouths
Varsitygaming’s entire content is hating on siege because he knows there’s a lot of ppl that hate siege yet play it 24/7
I love how every negative critisicm nowadays is instantly "hating". If the game obviously has issues and somebody points them out, is not "hating", it's stating facts.
Why you hating on the hating from the haters?
Varsity is getting a bag for it though, I respect it. I rarely ever play anymore, but hacker replay is still something I watch almost every week.
I disagree personally he enjoys it and he doesn’t hate it he makes videos on cheaters which isn’t exactly hating on siege just posting about cheaters siege has many flaws as well so it’s quite fair for that varsity also makes videos on ranks etc
I mean R6 has been dying several times now but it came alive right after i hope this time it will come back alive
Nothing but gaining players until about operation chimera. It started going downhill with a some because of pandemic. Now it's back to losing players again.
What ya been googling that you’re being targeting for cheats?
Imagine getting ads in the first place
They’re just bold enough to pay to get their ads served to people who are watching siege content. I get actual video ads for Destiny 2 boosting services, served in the mid-roll of Destiny 2 content. They’re apparently making enough money at it to just no give af
They probably saw that I was googling r6 related content and then gave me the first r6 related advertisement they could find.
Been listening to this since year one. Takes me 10 seconds to get in a ranked lobby.
I agree, I personally find a match on any mode in a few seconds.
Bro the game is 7 years old people need to chill out
It also has 60k players today on just steam not including Ubisoft’s launcher and a couple other platforms
It’s the 21st most played game on steam, y’all are so god damn dramatic
We got some dummies out here who think that if its not getting twitch views its a dead game. They need to find a new hobby
It was top 5 for quite a while, it's not dying yet but it's quicky losing popularity, the playerbase on steam hasn't been this low since 2017
The gap between its competitors is huge though. Like PUBG is dwarfing them rn. Maybe fallen off is the better phrase because it's nowhere as big as it was
If i can find games in diamond elo in under 1:30 i dont thinks its dying
So yeah there’s my take, I could go more into detail but I just don’t have the energy lmao,
slowly, yes but i've played 5 stack yesterday for over 4 hours and it was quite fun.
Like most 7 year old games, yes, it is slowly dying
I started playing three years ago and quit two years ago. The community will kill this game before the devs do but they're both trying hard.
I haven’t played for months. And before that, I hadn’t played for months. They keep giving the game a vasectomy of its fun.
Well yeah none of my friends play anymore because the console version is a 3rd party hardware nightmare.
Seige died years ago imo. I left it in like 2017.
100% yes it is. A slow bleed out but saying it’s not is just being ignorant. The laziness for the last 3 years is biting their ass. GGWP
Absolutely, idiot developers are ruining this game and turning it into that rainbow shit
Time for siege 2 baby!!
Yes. The reason why people encounter even more cheaters is because the legit players are DECREASING each year.
[You can see for yourself.](https://steamcharts.com/app/359550#1m) The game won't outright die (for a long time) because of a loyal fanbase, but the game is losing its charm and slowly its players.
If they stopped playing or had bad experience that game is dying...
Yes
Yes
Yes I think so. I haven’t played in a while myself.
Honestly yes beacuse it's like ubi only want's sigue for the money we put for the elite skins and events ,it's like they dont give a shit about sigue status or comunity toxicity
Slowly. The only players I met currently rn are just headshotters
The game is so boring now and the maps aren’t fun anymore
Since Year 3 it’s been going downhill, not saying there’s been nothing good from Year 4/7 but just the beginning of the end for me personally
I mean I'm enjoying the game, especially since a lot of my friends just started but its not as enjoyable as before
I used to play siege ALOT but left cause of no real reason just kinda lost love for it. I wish I still loved it like I used to tho
At this point yea it kinda is. I think the only way it can start to grow again is if ubisoft starts to actually work and care about it. Or if another company steps in and buys it off. It is not in a great place atm.
It’s already dead
Yes, ubi is ruining it
It is DEAD
It was my main game for a good 4-5 years but the toxicity has become unbearable for me. I just tried a match yesterday after a year and had to mute 7 people in my first game for mic spamming, insults, homophobia, and racism all in one round. Then I got team killed. And I never said a word, I just played the game normally. It's just not worth dealing with when I can play any other game without that being an issue.
I hope so
I stopped playing siege like a year ago, i used to play it on console every single day since 2016 but got a little burnt out, when they drop that cross progression im gonna start playing again on pc
Game is ass I quit 2 yrs ago
I stop playing siege and went to apex also. I really think siege have too many characters that do the same thing, also, what the point of we having characters that break fortified walls if some other operators do the same? And even fuze granades can go through reinforce walls,i think there are to many characters, you can argue that in apex it begining to be like this in the some characters, but i still enjoy more apex
Absolutely. It's been dead for years.
Slowly, yes.
Yes. It’s a 6 year old game that gets small updates. Remember when we got a map and two operators a season? Now we get one operator and MAYBE a map. It’s just not enough when there are so many new games and games with more frequent updates and not stale meta
Siege has kinda bottomed out in terms of numbers. I dont think it will die until people really get tired of it or something replaces it
Yes
Main thing is it loosing the originality in the way of balancing the game. There are lots of elements which are need and mean to make sense. If devs are keep looking on that aspect there will be a problem with balance (statistically). This whole game is like aerialist. Just lose the balance, the fall begin.
TLDR; R6 is own by Ubisoft and Ubisoft in trouble with growth and shareholders. (Note: I don't totally know about the company 's sexual, mental, or physical harassment issues full so I won't try to speak upon it.) Well at this rate, yes.
Slowly yes, i think it's fair to say it's past its prime.
It has been dying for a long time, and it will continue to be dying. Ain't dead yet tho.
Yes, but Ubi dont care about.....
The *ONE* thing they need to do is to figure out how to counter cheaters/smurfers/Mnk cheaters on Consoles/XiM cheaters, the game will be flourishing tbh. I personally do not care if they don't release new content for a year, if the cheaters are gone, it'll be better. (Ubi plz speed up console crossplay thank you)
Oh man who would've thought a 7-8 year old game is losing players holy shitttttt wow just incredible.
They should have kept it more simple. The maps, operators, weapons.
Has been for years
I think it's more just not really growing much anymore, rather than losing a bunch of players.
Siege is dying. Ubisoft already needs to take the next step, which is either Siege 2 or F2P Siege.
Dead ? Not yet Dying? Maybe Bleeding? Yes
It’s dying, but slowly
Idk all games die so I have accepted the inevitable
But it has a good lifespan.
as someone who left siege, yeah I think its dying. what got me and my friends hooked was a fast 5v5 modern tactical shooter where you could blow open walls. now its a fast 5v5 futuristic hero shooter where you can blow open walls, even the reinforced ones, without a dedicated hard breacher.
100%. It’s losing players slowly.
I mean it is very clearly dying, not dead yet but it's getting there
No. It's already been dead for a while. It's rotting
Yes i stopped playin that shit hella long ago and i was a player when it dropped til like vigil or whatever his name was a little after that is when i kinda stopped playing vigils shotgun was fun asf ngl
Yes
it isnt what it used to be.
Tldr game gooder back when it wasn't idiot proof Also give IQ her grenades back (ya that's how long I've been gone lmao)
Maybe. In my experience, every time I hop on, I will sit in queue for 30 minutes to find a casual or ranked match. NA East.
It's dying but the people on this sub will tell you it isn't and ride this stupid game until the end.
I left the game so in my eyes: Yes, but dying and being dead are 2 different things
Targeted ads dude. You def searched them up previously.
But ye. Otherwise it’s dying.
oh goodness this is very sad. really, dying, are youvl sure? ive loved Siege from Day 1. its the best game ive ever played.
