Lovecraftian horror is a sub genre based on the horrors of the unknowable and incomprehensible more so than basic shock and gore. It’s your own imagination that scares you so much.
Don’t read it if existential dread is a problem for you lol.
Yeah, I feel the same way. I don't think our human mind is capable of handling that much amount of information. It would be like getting an infinite number of existential crises at once. It would drive anyone insane.
But bear in mind about half of the languages are used by small numbers of people, who would - just out of statistical probabilities - *te-killa-puka* you before you would get halfway through the Papuan highlands.
fun fact, my wifes friend. she is dumb as a rock in general, yet, somehow all languages just sticks with her. She is latvian, but she also speaks in english, russian, lithuanian, polish, arabic, and Portuguese .
Depends on what you intended to do with the knowledge and at what level your understanding is. If it's just syntax then that's probably not very useful because people won't be writing much code in ten years. Instant knowledge of programming at a senior developer level would by necessity come with the benefit of multiple cognitive skills and efficiencies including problem solving, logical and analytical thinking, attention to detail, project management and soft skills like adaptability and creativity. So when the point comes that AI is writing all the code, you're not left with useless knowledge - instead, you still have plenty going for you.
I'm finishing my MSc in chemistry and only now did i notice my passion for IT. I've been studying a lot of networking, python, java and even planning to continue into bio-informatics so that I can somehow combine my degrees with my passion. However, all these languages and knowledge seem like a whole new universe. I feel like I could study for decades and still know nothing. Hence, my answer :)
Honestly, ChatGPT was awesome for learning programming several months ago and still is to a good degree. Many people use it for learning Python especially. When they fix the issues (it used to be great but they have made changes that stifled its usefulness) I have no doubt people will use it - or its cousins - to effectively take learning anything to another level. It's capable of making custom courses tailored to your specific abilities and proficiencies when properly prompted. It won't be long before AI revolutionizes education in my personal opinion.
Music theory only makes sense if applied .... 😁 And you look at it through a historical perspective and a well why on earth should I know and use this one....!
The problem with music theroy is it's taught like ....
This is a forth interval C-F
This is a augmented forth interval C-F#
Well done you now know intervals
Then an exam is like
F# - B
Is it a forth
or a augmented forth
zzzz 💤
Where as really it's like....
You want the most hellbent godforsaken sound in music play and augmented forth. It's so shit sounding it was labelled a tritone and the devils interval....it's excellent if you want to write horror songs metal songs or any song that needs high tension or disonance .
Here's an example of a song that uses tritones
https://youtu.be/hMBxriQamIU?si=riWRp1zfFG2M9vaE
And if you want the most perfect beautiful sound use a forth or fifth interval instead! These are called perfect and considered to be heavenly you can write beautiful progressions with forths and fifths ....
Here's example of a song that lends itself heavily to forths
https://youtu.be/z51apErmAuw?si=6kneldeS4SM6vZFr
History I need it too I'm terrible at it mostly and I want to become a lawyer. Lots of money has been put into my education already I need to return the favour to my family and honour them as well as started a family.

It would be worth it to save all the dogs from getting cancer cause you know it would be ok to test on animals but big pharma would find a reason to never use it on people!
General geography… my dyscalculia makes it impossible to gain knowledge of where things are and I don’t even manage to picture the world map in my head…
quantum physics
i have absolutely zero knowledge in anything science related (maybe except some really really basic math) and this topic seems so interesting to me but i cant get into it bc most of stuff on the internet are boring or bad written and im not enought motivated to follow through
Delaying age related cell and body degeneration
Being the guy, that cracks the secret to extending life and 'eternal youth', the whole world will be queueing up
Probably be able to afford the penthouse in Elon Musk's, Mars condos, with that kind of geetus!! 🤑
Being autistic: Emotions.
Everything related to "hints" etc. How to know what someone feels,
how to know what someone means. How to read facial expressions etc.
Everything to do with Abrahamic religions
Man, I'd spend my whole life learning about them and never get to the point I want to be at. Fascinating shit
Psychological manipulation/ social manipulation.
If you're capable of this you can get people to do almost anything for you, sell anything, get jobs, attract a partner with ease, help alter people's bad behaviour, get stuff for free etc etc.
True but you also have to lack empathy. I am very good at psychological manipulation if I NEED to be, and I can spot another manipulator a mile away when no one else can. My issue is that I have too much empathy to actually use it for personal gain. My morals won't allow me to just use people and throw them away, even though I know how to do it.
Law and manipulation. Because putting in a honest days work isn’t cutting it anymore. You have to be rich and manipulative. And id need the law to keep myself outta jail after manipulating all the rich to make myself rich.
Psychology, I wish I started learning it younger.
I'd love to meet a person who's into it.
They would have to tolerate my ignorance as I have so much to learn lol.
How old are you? It's never too late. There are tons of free resources about psychology. Teaching myself psychology is one of my favorite hobbies. I took 3 psych classes in college and fell in love. However, to make any money in the field, you have to have a masters degree, and I'm not that smart lol. I'm 36 and still learning new things, researching things, ect. I had a wonderful intern therapist once who would pitch me ideas to do research on in my free time because he knew I liked to keep my mind busy and learn more about my own issues.
Math. I have been so horrendous at math my entire life. I am great at researching things, I can write papers for days, and I'm good at grammar when it matters. However, math has always been my downfall. I think I may have dyscalculia or something. I'd give anything to be great at math. It's the only thing that has ever stopped me from attaining a university education. I can't pass college level math courses 😢. It's sad because I'm smart in other areas, but you have to have a college math with anything you pursue above an associates degree.
Physics! Awesome course on The Great Courses site with Don Lincoln. Love his dry humor. Would love to take it all in…but my brain needs time to process - so if I could just instantly get it - that would be delightful.
Depends. Would it be like all knowledge? Or just a certain level of knowledge? The former, I'd go with stock trading, the latter, I'd probably go with programming / ai
Of God. But, I doubt I could handle it.
I remember once being in downtown LA and being struck with the realization that God knows more about each one of these individuals than they know about themselves. It was mind-boggling. It made my soul itch. I had to get out of there and away from the thought of it.
His knowledge of even a single second of our time is so vast as to be inconceivable.
Languages? Either one, or like understanding the structures of differing languages so I could improv my way through a number of them.
You could read so much other stuff than the limited stuff you get as a monolingual
Probably my body and its workings and what is actually wrong with me. Doctors don’t help or even acknowledge my symptoms a lot and I feel like only I can help myself
I want to say languages, philosophy or psychology but on the other hand I feel like it would be smarter to pick something that would be very useful to know but that isn’t something I’m already interested in and willingly seek out information about all the time as it is. Maybe something I don’t want to spend a ton of time actually learning, but just want to “already know”. So… all things IT?

If gaining knowledge means I can also apply it well in practice then, everything art related.
R34, that way you'd be a god
Not a god, just very rich.
What's the difference?
common knowledge lmao

Medicine
Came here to say the same thing
Math
Meth
No, that would be chemistry
But math might be symbiotic with meth if you get a good dose
CHEMISTRY
![gif](giphy|R3S6MfUoKvBVS)
I'm a chemist. It's not that exciting
Yeah but tbf even all of the greatest chemist combined aren't even marginally close to fully understanding chemistry
The universe
Man I feel like gaining knowledge of the universe might explode my being
As someone who has read a lot of Lovecraft, sometimes knowledge into the cosmos isn't such a good thing.
Care to elaborate?
Lovecraftian horror is a sub genre based on the horrors of the unknowable and incomprehensible more so than basic shock and gore. It’s your own imagination that scares you so much. Don’t read it if existential dread is a problem for you lol.
Look up H.P Lovecraft, specifically Cuthulhu
Yeah, I feel the same way. I don't think our human mind is capable of handling that much amount of information. It would be like getting an infinite number of existential crises at once. It would drive anyone insane.
Just saying, we already know that the answer is 42...
So true.
I think you'll find that "the universe" pretty much covers everything
Shut up woman get on my horse (god, I hope I understood your reference correctly)
Hahaha never forgot the classics.
Languages
Like all 7000 of them?
Hell yes. That would be awesome.
But then me being so poor I would never be able to travel to use that power.
Sure you would. There would be so many jobs that would pay top dollar for a polyglot that knows ALL LANGUAGES.
Lol look at all the travel that C3PO got to do!
As long as your social presence isnt that of an Ogre you could literally name your price. Jet set around.
Could call some embasseys for a chat
It would indeed
But bear in mind about half of the languages are used by small numbers of people, who would - just out of statistical probabilities - *te-killa-puka* you before you would get halfway through the Papuan highlands.
I've always said if I had any superpower, it would be to be fluent in every language. My superhero name would be Babel
All languages not just the spoken ones.
fun fact, my wifes friend. she is dumb as a rock in general, yet, somehow all languages just sticks with her. She is latvian, but she also speaks in english, russian, lithuanian, polish, arabic, and Portuguese .
Precisely what i wanted to say
There's an app for that...
Stock markets and how to play them
Languages. Knowing every single language in history would be crazy.
Programming 😉
