I was sad to see the stopped using the blue plastic cases those were nice

Must depend on the model. My 9C 1.0 and my 686 came with the blue case maybe 7 years ago, my .22 compact was cardboard.

Smith seems to still have them but almost at random

I bought a Pro Series Model 60 ~12-18 months ago and I did get the hard blue S&W case.

I have the 3 inch model 60. Fun to shoot even with .357 mag. Better than my 442 with .38 spl +P. I CCW it often, clothing permitting.

have a 640 pro purchased in December of last year, came In the blue plastic box. Love this little gun, been into N frames all my life.
