That's weird, I got my Altra's (Provision 6) for about 90$. Maybe look into getting older models? Provision 7 was out at the time I bought mine.

Sloe_Burn

Sierra has a ton of Altra's on sale for 50-80$ right now.

SaGa31500

I came here to post this. Got my Torin 6 there.

You'll find older model Altras on Amazon cheaper than the Altra website, I picked up a pair of Via Olympus the other day for $75.

pyky69

I’ve gotten my last two pair of Superiors for $50 on Amazon. I don’t care if they are the latest model. I get Endorphins Pros from Amazon also around this price. I will mention I am female and have a pretty small foot, I feel there may not be much of a demand for my size.

ManseRunner1

Not sure about over in the US, but here in the UK the Inov8 Trailfly G270 can often be picked up for a decent discount in the sales - think they were about £75 in the Black Friday sales

huxley309

Definitely this, I've switched to using these as my all round shoes along with superfeet blue, and right away my aches are much reduced. Hoping this will rid me of my pf, but only time will tell.

AdSad5307

They’re stuck at about £70/75 now. Just got a pair for £71.

weregoingtoginas

I picked up a pair at an Inov8 store in the western US for $50 a month or so back.

SignificantCat4213

I got my altra Torins for $40 on Amazon, they’ve been great

runslowgethungry

Look at the older models. I almost exclusively wear Topos, and I see older models on sale pretty often.

highdon

Buy on sales. Wiggle here in the UK for example were selling out all the Altras for peanuts in the last month or so. They were all between £30-60 a pair including their most popular models.

JRTLab

I got my Altra Torins at Ross for 34.99. You might wanna start hitting the TJ Max,Ross and Marshall’s circuit

wokeiraptor

I got Rivera 3’s in September on Amazon for 90

opholar

Are you in the US? If so, try Sierra.

Rebresker

Can always check out dicks app, search for Altra and sort price low to high The black provision 6 is like $60.32 there Can also see what Amazon has, walmart’s website, etc… If you aren’t picky about colorways you can find some deals

catlover2410

You’ve not shared why you insist on zero drop. Some drop might be better for your knees. Your running form might also be worth looking at.

Kinvara 13 is $50-60 on Amazon and probably better for you than altras

RustyDoor

Think the Porsche GT range; you pay more for them taking things away. All zero drop shoes start life as 8-10mm drops, that a bespoke team work tirelessly to curate the perfect zero drop experience. R&D alone to get the exact foam to remove is costly.

davebrose

Yes they are niche, what size are you?

----X88B88----

I got kiger 9s for $50, 3.5mm drop maybe that's low enough?

RunTheCanoes

Runrepeat.com to check amazing reviews and stats to find what you need. eBay if you don’t mind using shoes that have been lightly worn and returned. Specifically for Lone Peaks, if you can read “Trail Claws” on the bottom they are in awesome shape. I’ve picked up 4 pairs in the past 6 months for around $40-$50. I’m gonna beat em up anyways.

madslog

Have you tried running again in higher stacked shoes since doing all this hiking/trails? Fair chance you built good bone and tendon density doing lower intensity cardio/ascending/descending. Would be interesting to see if the knee pain improves now you have a higher base level of knee stability/strength.

Thanks for all the feedback. What I'm gathering is that there aren't many low MSRP options, so shop sales.
