Which year? I'm guessing mid 2000s because of the Smersh?

DaniTheBrain

My bad, yes I am talking about early 2000s to 2010

DaniTheBrain

in addition: The 10 round magazines are for real and just for show since my jurisdiction banned 30 round magazines, I am not sure if 10 rounders are a good idea. Also, I am aware of dgb and facebook pages to buy camo, but my size appears to be quite weird since no camo suits in my size are available. Im 187cm tall, chest: 94cm, waist: 90cm

PolskaBalaclava

Damn I hate the bullshit ass “noooo you can’t have mag capacity over 10!!!1” law

Brilliant_Bluejay_41

M81 woodland or any surplus camo for boots just wear sneakers or normal black boots

DaniTheBrain

I am considering wearing old/dirty sneakers to look more untrained if you know what I mean

Matthew252598

Good sneakers for this could be a adidas gazelle just weather them

VladTheFrench

Dpm would go crazy (Irish drip)

SirAndre22

KZS suit will look so good with your kit. The camo on the suit is effective and because it is a mesh suit, it will be comfortable to wear in during summer games. You could get the original Soviet surplus around USD60. https://preview.redd.it/o77q3hhhdsrc1.jpeg?width=678&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad62553d8cbe92523354a37ee8250fe93b7788cf

succeth101

id wear like vsr flora or some kind of slightly older infantry camo ( btw this is a dope ass kit)

DaniTheBrain

Vsr has been mentioned a couple of times along with dpm now and I will look into both of those. Thanks a lot!

Kosmo1999

Flecktarn jacket and solid color pants or the other way around. M 81 and DMP are good to. Italian m1929 is also a great camo used by IRA and still used by hunters

gunsforevery1

Definitely older gear from past service

Stieger2446

I would recommend mixing and matching some 80s and 90s surplus like woodland, flecktarn or maybe some 98 flora

Acido1953

Jeans and knit

OperatorGWashington

Sneakers, any hiking/work boots. Camos: anything you can find in a surplus store or any old russian camo if youre going for a russian backed militia. Im gonna bet youre gearing up for a MSW. In that case just get comfy hiking boots, M81/OD green/ss leto pants and an adidas jacket

DaniTheBrain

The scenario is that untrained civilians have looted a raided military checkpoint and are now fighting with the found gear. So sneakers are the option I am going for. Thank you very much for your input

tophindu

Anything old, afghanka gear, old flora patterns, British DPM, the good ol gorka. Anything that you could find in a Russian surplus store would suffice

WiiFitT7ainer

Where’d you get the Smersh? How much?

DaniTheBrain

I bought it off an airsoft marketplace, think ebay for airsoft gear and guns only. For nearly 400€

Piratewhale8

Where u get grenades?

DaniTheBrain

Different sites but all can be found by searching for replica F1 and RGD grenades

Sad_Jicama_5584

KLMK, old Afghan uniforms, DPM (68 pattern) or some Soldier 95 pattern from import, VSR, some Czech camos maybe, I would use baggy jeans and a jacket from one of those camos

neonlithic

Consider VSR 98. What you have doesn't really look militia to me, more like 2000s Russian special forces, so maybe try getting an old gen Sumrak or Partizan to complete the look. If you want something easy, then DPM is always a good choice and usually more common than M81, but I think that leans more 2010s and would be too new for your gear.

DaniTheBrain

Oh, I was considering to only wear either the upper or lower part of the suit and using my cars first aid kit to make it look less professional(?) I guess civilians would have a hard time getting grenades, thats why I was going for different types. Did I miss something that makes it look too special forces to you? With getting the old Sumrak suits, I have been looking for them on dgb. But as I stated in my post, the available sizes wouldnt fit me

BeertjeSk8

You need a size 3 kzs (almost impossible to find. For other clothes anything in length 6 is fine, you can deal with the width as long as it’s not too small

neonlithic

The reason why I'm saying special forces is the smersh. The early smersh was only really used by special forces, particularly in the 2000s, although they did spread later on and I saw DPR troops with SSO new gen smershes around 2015-2016ish. AKMs probably saw some use with militias too, but I've overwhelmingly seen 5.45 AK74s with them in Europe, so 7.62 also leans a bit special. This will definitely work if you just want to fit in on a militia faction at a milsim, but it doesn't look like purpose built militia kit so far. However, there's a very big tendency to just use old Russian kits for militia kits in general, for some reason unknown to me.

DaniTheBrain

My goal is to just "fit in" on a militia faction. To be fair authenticity too considering I am primarly looking for original surplus gear. I can‘t really explain why but upon hearing militia I too immediately thought about russian gear… so here I am. People I have talked to will be rocking helmets and armored carrier type kits so I went with the "light“ option of civilian gloves and mask. Thank you very much for all that info, I will be looking into 74s and maybe get one eventually considering what you told me
