Was shocked to see how sparse his stats were when I went back and looked at them a little while ago. Seemed like he was always catching TDs or making big plays
The Meacharound is still my favourite play of all time. Really set the mood for our Super bowl year. I remember my dad and I stopped in at a random bar in TN and it ended up being filled with Saints fans. Watched this live. We went from heartbreak over our potentially first loss of the season, to erupting in cheers. Goated.
Wow I never thought of it that way, we definitely were all chanting who Dat at the end lol. But yeah that game definitely set the tone for that season.
Lance moore and Henderson were similarly too good to be mediocre.
Meachem being a first rounder is the only thing that makes him mediocre, but at least he was a baller at the best of times
Love that guy. I went on a Saints cruise and while all the guys were all super nice, Michael went a little above and beyond for the fans. If you want to read about him, he wrote a book, DREAMS: The Michael Lewis Story.

Eric Martin was my answer too but he was definitely a baller. He managed to make Bobby Hebert look good from time to time. Probably deserves way more credit than he gets.
Caught the Brees td that broke the all time yardage record. Had big moments, was never a diva, he was a GREAT blocker for a wr. Fuck it I’m putting on a Trequan smith flair
Came here to say this, went to look for a celebration highlight real and realized the Saints released an official one of [all of his touchdowns](https://youtu.be/nKA6WFzkSvU?si=alnAydY2YWHhves3) . So good lol. His first highlight was narrated by John Madden too, that's a pretty big honour lol.
Yes he was for the number 3 target he was great, I think because of how much of a staple he was on our roster we think he was better than he was. When in reality he was just a quality player
My brother always told me the hardest hit he’s ever seen was Keith Poole getting destroyed but could never find a video of it. Was too young to remember it at the time.
I was at the game where he took a major shot from a 40 yard reception that took his head off! Came up with no helmet and gave the first down signal. Amazing. Was a fan ever since.
He had to be like a practice/locker room god cause he was on the roster forever doing a whole bunch of nothing. Supposedly he was a favor to parcells but I don’t think that keeps you past camp lol
It was Devry Henderson. LSU kid playing for home pro team. The whole state was excited to get him. He had his moments but for whatever reason was never able to become a star. But whenever he’d make a play the dome would go nuts.
I saw him driving around downtown at like 2am in a brown f-150 with 4 little stick on saints flags and the windows down just BLARING some classical music.
Homie has definitely killed people.
Brandon Coleman is the only right answer here. Guy could make a circus catch for 42 yards and a touchdown but he would then drop a wide open slant the very next drive
Eric Martin rumbling his way downfield only to be caught by behind at the 3 yard line (and of course this resulted in three plays that gained 0 yards and a Morten Andersen FG).
Eddie Kennison for me in the late 90s. From Lake Charles, went to LSU and flashed a couple decent years as a WR and Returner. I ran so many kicks and punts back for TDs with him on Madden in those years.
Lance Moore for me, especially with the Super Bowl 2-PT catch.
Not the Saints, but Peja Stojaković for the New Orleans Hornets around the same time period was my favorite
For me it was Torrence Small in 93 when I was 9. He played at Alcorn with my older cousin, so I was very excited when he joined the Saints. He couldn't do much with Early, Martin , and Hilliard getting most of the looks from Wilson.
Devery Henderson
Devery was actually good tho
Only had over 35 receptions and over 3 tds in a season 1x each.. I love Devery but, he was definitely mediocre at best
Was shocked to see how sparse his stats were when I went back and looked at them a little while ago. Seemed like he was always catching TDs or making big plays
We spread the ball around so much in those years
Most fun football I've ever seen also the saints from madden 10 to madden 12 were gods
He was a circus catch guy, but would frequently f up the routine short routes
He averaged under 500 yards and 3 TD's per season.
The truth is…he was only good at running straight lines. I’m also a lifelong LSU fan and love Devery. That’s what he did. Run fast straight.
Caught it Devery time.
He had no hands but could open up the bread basket for drew to drop it in.
Put some respect on Devery J Hendersons name
Robert Meachem is my goat
Meachem made mad moves our SuperBowl Year.

That game also gave us the Unknown Who Dat
Wow I never thought of it that way, we definitely were all chanting who Dat at the end lol. But yeah that game definitely set the tone for that season.
Literally what i thought of when I posted my above comment. 👍🏼👍🏼
The Meacharound
fr this is my answer, colston would be my top answer but he’s too elite to be considered mediocre by anyone
Lance moore and Henderson were similarly too good to be mediocre. Meachem being a first rounder is the only thing that makes him mediocre, but at least he was a baller at the best of times
absolutely the first guy i thought of. love Meach!
I was such a Dante Stallworth fan as a kid. Thought he was gonna be the truth
He lived right down my street! Sometimes he’d buy chocolates for my middle school fundraisers lol.
Me too. Thought that guy was the hopes and dreams of all Saints fans personified.
Can still hear buddy calling him Dante Stallpepper
You must like being called a squirrel or something.
Willie Snead
Incredibly clutch on 3rd down.
Michael Lewis would be mine.
BEER MAN!!!
Great answer. That Jacksonville game is the stuff of my dreams and nightmarea
Met him in costa rica. Cool dude, hated Sean Payton.
Love that guy. I went on a Saints cruise and while all the guys were all super nice, Michael went a little above and beyond for the fans. If you want to read about him, he wrote a book, DREAMS: The Michael Lewis Story.

Kenny stills
Kenny Stills was a madden goat for me
Was about to comment this. I remember when he did a signing at a Verizon store and my dad took me. Sad when he got drafted
Jerome Pathon, baby.
Yes my dad liked Pathon so I liked him too as a kid too young to fully understand football yet
This is mine too!
Same
Yessir!
Eric Martin
And/or Quinn Early. Though, I'd argue they were really good WRs playing with shitty QBs.
Oh totally. I think a lot of the WR in this thread are at least decent. I was just playing the game I guess.
Eric Martin was my answer too but he was definitely a baller. He managed to make Bobby Hebert look good from time to time. Probably deserves way more credit than he gets.
Same, feeling old now seeing all these other names come up.
Yeah, seeing names like Snead, like ooph. Eric Martin is my guy.
Trequan smith fans assemble Edit: wait I was not 9 with Trequan. Lance Moore was dope too
Tre'quan has fans? I guess he bought them from Home Depot.
He was a decent blocker I guess?
Caught the Brees td that broke the all time yardage record. Had big moments, was never a diva, he was a GREAT blocker for a wr. Fuck it I’m putting on a Trequan smith flair
Gross
You’ll never know how good the beer man was
He was an elite returner though. I dunno if he counts.
Lance Moore
i refuse to accept Lance as mediocre haha love that dude
I know man I know
Came here to say this, went to look for a celebration highlight real and realized the Saints released an official one of [all of his touchdowns](https://youtu.be/nKA6WFzkSvU?si=alnAydY2YWHhves3) . So good lol. His first highlight was narrated by John Madden too, that's a pretty big honour lol.
moore was good though
Yes he was for the number 3 target he was great, I think because of how much of a staple he was on our roster we think he was better than he was. When in reality he was just a quality player
He’d be mine too, closely followed by Meachem
U can’t touch him or Colston!!! It says mediocre!!! 👎x1million
Sorry
Lance Moore
Brett Perriman
Shut the thread down, this is the only correct answer.
Came here to say this!
Keith Poole
My brother always told me the hardest hit he’s ever seen was Keith Poole getting destroyed but could never find a video of it. Was too young to remember it at the time.
I was at the game where he took a major shot from a 40 yard reception that took his head off! Came up with no helmet and gave the first down signal. Amazing. Was a fan ever since.
Remember it vividly. It knocked his helmet sideways
🗣️KEITH POOLE!
He partied. My mom would hang out at Jager’s with him all the time.
All the top answers are WR2-4s that Drew made gods in the good days 😢
Drew and Sean made so many bums so much money.
Joe Morgan's 2012 was special
Emmanuel sanders was my boy, wasn’t nine but he’ll always be my mediocre WR
He’s worth the love
I’m old as shit… https://preview.redd.it/rxzqij772b1d1.jpeg?width=194&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99bf203e51561ef55fc8ef475537805a3133b353
Back when peak athletic form was a 32 year old white guy that smokes and also probably works at the local factory
Not as a kid but I was a Doente Harty supporter. "GET MY BOY OUT OF SPECIAL TEAMS"
Willie Snead but I was more like 14-15
Adrian Arrington
I wanted him to be a 100+ reception receiver so damn bad
Quinn Early was my favorite as a lad.
Eric Martin
Torrance Small. I always thought that next year was the year he broke into stardom
Came here to call out this guy.... Like you, I always thought he was a year away.
Lonzell Hill and his cabbage patch TD dance
Eric Martin
Donte Stallworth
Wasn’t mediocre but Marques Colston was the goat. I was also a big Jeremy Shockey fan as a kid.
Best player to never make a pro bowl
Willie Jackson was my first favorite mediocre WR
This is a really good one.
Same! Hey for a while willie was pretty legit though. Him next to joe was a goof combo!!!
My answer as well. He wasn’t mediocre in 1999. Like a poor man’s Colston for s couple years.
Was definitely not 9 and thought he was not at all mediocre, but can we talk about Tommylee Lewis?
That dude got like 200 yards a year and still managed to stick around for like 5 years lol
Most famous for gettin absolutely demolished with the no-call
Oh yeah I forgot that was him!
He had to be like a practice/locker room god cause he was on the roster forever doing a whole bunch of nothing. Supposedly he was a favor to parcells but I don’t think that keeps you past camp lol
Was he even a productive special teams guy?
It was Devry Henderson. LSU kid playing for home pro team. The whole state was excited to get him. He had his moments but for whatever reason was never able to become a star. But whenever he’d make a play the dome would go nuts.
His whole deal was unreliable hands and meh route running, but superstar straight-line speed. He had a couple blue grass miracle moments in the NFL.
lance
I’ll forever remember that clutch 2 point conversion in the Superbowl
Devery Henderon
Devery was good production for a second rounder imo
He had terrible production. He was just good for like 8 huge plays a year lol
Adrian Arrington. Next season was always his breakout
This dude was a training camp GOAT. Every summer was the summer of Adrian Arrington.
Terrance Copper
Career highlight was catching that Hail May in Atlanta
marquez calloway
Ted Ginn
Stone Hands Teddy
Joe Horn is a goat for me
I saw him driving around downtown at like 2am in a brown f-150 with 4 little stick on saints flags and the windows down just BLARING some classical music. Homie has definitely killed people.
His son plays for the panthers!
Eddie Kennison
Jérôme pathon
Keith Poole... I'm old
Lonzell Hill. I’m older.
Looking through every name here remembering when I determined to get them 120 catches or 2000 yards in Madden
Brandon Coleman!
Man, i forgot all about him. Loved that guy
Brandon Coleman my guy
Eric Martin and Floyd Turner
Michael Haynes
Robert Meachem, #84 Kenny Stills, Willie Snead, & Calloway
Willie Jackson was the perfect compliment to Joe Horn during the Haslett days. That was my guy.
Willie Snead. That dude had the stickiest hands in the NFL for exactly 1.5 seasons.
Brandon Coleman is the only right answer here. Guy could make a circus catch for 42 yards and a touchdown but he would then drop a wide open slant the very next drive
I wasn't 9 but pretty recently I loved Marquez Calloway
Kenny stills or lance moore
Beer man… but he wasn’t mediocre IMO
Talman Gardner, Jerome Pathon, and Michael Lewis were my favorite people to use on Madden when I was a kid.
Joseph Morgan for some reason
Kenny stills
Jerome Pathon
Eric Martin, but he joined the Saints when I was 10.
Mel Gray
Jerome Pathon. Great name.
Oh that’s easy. Michael Haynes
Eric Martin rumbling his way downfield only to be caught by behind at the 3 yard line (and of course this resulted in three plays that gained 0 yards and a Morten Andersen FG).
Brandon coleman for half a season dude looked like he was 6’9
Brett Bech
Eddie Kennison for me in the late 90s. From Lake Charles, went to LSU and flashed a couple decent years as a WR and Returner. I ran so many kicks and punts back for TDs with him on Madden in those years.
Robert Wilson
Lance Moore for me, especially with the Super Bowl 2-PT catch. Not the Saints, but Peja Stojaković for the New Orleans Hornets around the same time period was my favorite
Devrey Henderson
Marques Colston
Forget wide receiver. Bobby Hebert was my hero!
Wes Chandler
Lance Moore
Willie Jackson
Wes Chandler
Lance Moore
The te dat played college basketball
Already mentioned separately, but I had a trio in mind: Lance Moore Devery Henderson Robert Meacham
Lance Moore
Joe Horn when I was young, but Lance Moore was my ninja!
Lance would catch a deep ball, land on his back, and jump up a celebrate! He was a beast!
Keith Poole
Lance Moore 🥲
For me it was Torrence Small in 93 when I was 9. He played at Alcorn with my older cousin, so I was very excited when he joined the Saints. He couldn't do much with Early, Martin , and Hilliard getting most of the looks from Wilson.
Joe Horn
Tommylee lewis, and Brandon Coleman are definitely up there for me
ted ginn
Quinn Early. Y’all make me feel old
Ike Harris, 1980. Damn...
As a Steelers fan I say Rashid Shaheed
Willie Jackson wasn’t mediocre but he’s a legend in my mind forever
wasnt 9 but i was convinced deonte harris/harty was gonna be what shaheed is already becoming. my kr goat
Albert Connell and Michael Haynes.
Ted ginn
Tinker Owens
Dante Stallworth
Cooks ![gif](giphy|HoSyEAe48WBpTCmEz4|downsized)
Terrence Copper
Willie Snead

Eric Martin
Dammit y'all making me feel old in here. It was Eric Martin for me.

Kenny Stills
Michael Thomas
Joe Horn for me is the most Saint Saint who ever Saint.
