Look at the sodium content on the label and compare to a safe daily intake. Drinking in moderation won’t hurt you but if you have a very sodium-rich diet already and you drink a lot of Borjomi it could have an effect
In Soviet Union times there were dozens of juice factories in Georgia. But somehow logic of a capitalist economy makes it impossible to profitably manufacture juice here, despite extremely cheap fruits.
As far as I know, Happy Day and Bravo, while foreign brands, are made locally. Then they are even exported to the EU.
Some juices are imported from Russia and Ukraine sure, but we have local brands. And Happy Day OJ is the best for the price.
Groceries in Georgia are generally expensive. Idk why.
Little to no local manufacturers. Those who make juice locally, also sell it for same price as import 🤷🏻♂️
Monster energy goes for 7.90₾ ~2.6€, while it averages out on 1.50€ in EU.
Same for Pfanner juice, 9-14₾ ~ 3-4.5€ while it averages out on 1.95€ in EU
Umm not really. I was living in Germany most of my life and we have pretty cheap prices in EU.
Most things in Georgia are super cheap. I mean most vegetables and fruites are like 1-3 lari per kilogram. Chicken costs like 8-10 lari per kg. Do you know how much you pay abroad? :D
In Germany we pay right now 2.50€ so like 8 tetri per kg for potatoes. Chicken costs like 11€ per Kg = 33 tetri. I mean yes, there are some exceptions, but in general Georgia is very cheap when it comes to grocery prices.
Maybe 10x before tax, but what's the point of earning more if your expenses are incredibly high? There are enough people who earn 1000-1500€ and struggle much with that amount of money.
Do you know what rent, fuel, electricity, heating, cars, insurances and everything cost? Most Germans can't save a single Euro and live from paycheck to paycheck.
27% of Germans don't have any savings or even have debt. Germany rather has cheap grocery prices. Check out other countries in EU. It's incredible what people are spending on food there.
Because almost all of the supermarkets and import companies are in the hands of a few selected GD higher ranks and they want profits. And because they are in GD they get away with it.
Campa made a new juice brand(can't remember the name sadly) and when I saw it in the store it was 2.75 Lari for 1L wow so cheap I thought (without it being on sale mind you) Now that same juice brand costs 4.5 Lari. It's legit greediness and they're not even trying to hide it at this point.
Look at milk, coffee or petrol 🔥
Managed to find some relatively cheap milk though, and it was also very tasty:)
do y'all buy milk from stores?
I buy almost all groceries from stores
What dont you buy is my question?
Milk is 5 gel
Good question. Georgia has a lot of fruits but juice isn't made locally. I dont see georgian brands in shops just lemonade. Why its like this?
There is a couple local brands. Kula and Campa for example My personally recommendation - try to mix Cherry Kula and Borjomi. It's delicious!
going back to Georgia this summer will 100% try if borjomi doesn't cost my liver, like my family says everything does.
Borjomi is quite cheap haha
irony lmao
Is that some kind of metaphor about cost? Or do you mean borjomi is bad for your liver?
Borjomi is bad for your kidneys
Proof?

ok i need to keep this in mind, what should the ratio between them be?
Third cup juice-half a cup juice, rest is borjomi

To be fair there are big modern juice factories in Gori.
Answer: Georgians are very greedy and sell their own produce the same price as the imports.
Georgia is expensive in general for no reason.
Because almost everything is imported. You can try local compotes, but i'm not sure this is what you looking for
But why is there no local juice in the supermarkets? Is there a specific reason for this?

8 lari?? WHAT?
Yep Monster energy goes for 7.90 in Smart and Fresco supermarkets
Bro there are local juices. Kula and Campa for example
Yes but they’re expensive
Expensive to produce.
Not only juice, but other foods are also more expensive than in EU countries..

No it isn't cheap. Germans also make 10x more than Georgians. By relative standard Georgia is pricey af

I can tell you right now. That number in Georgia is much higher that don't have savings or are in debt

I enjoy the campa drinks. I usually buy 3 bottles a week. I think the prices are good for the choices.

because coca-cola sets prices for all drink producers
Did you mean: Why is everything so expensive in Georgia?
Nah, most goods are actually affordable
Local produce affordable?
Yes.
Do you buy them in bazaar?
Some of them, but mostly in stores
Not from my experience. But anything could happen in 2 years that I have not been there
