Exactly. Not just water bubbling up forever, but iron ore too - just pop a drill down in one spot and extract indefinitely.
But trees? Nope. Finite. Non-renewable.
interestingly, this game can be more sport-ish if resourse nodes were finite and slowly degrading. keep some sort of pace, have something to lose eventually
that is giant copium tho, not really possible / efficient.
I'd rather have it we don't exploit our perfectly working planet, since like the nearest alternative is still literally light years away
You hardly need to travel light years to find resources. The here are more resources available this side of the asteroid belt than we could use in manny thousands of years. And they have the advantage of not being located inside of our extremely fragile bio sphere.
"the tech" such a magical phrase to completely disregard the energy needed to go into space let alone light years and somehow make it efficient and still fast enough that we haven't all gone extinct by the time the space ship comes back or whatever the plan would be, physics don't care about "the tech"
"Wise men plant trees that they will never live to enjoy the shade." Or something like that.
I think that return trip is what people get upset about. Throughout human history, we have consistently gone to new lands with no return. The idea that we would send resource gathering crews out to bring back materials that we are running out of is so terribly shortsighted.
The cost to actually go into space for anything more than scientific purposes is great. But so is the cost of doing nothing. We should seek to touch the stars at the same time we look to recycle and reuse those resources that are dwindling on this planet.
Because if we want to go to space, we're going to have to learn how to accept that everything is finite, and start acting appropriately.
ROFLMAO we have plenty of resources in our own solar system to last us centuries if not millennia or longer. You immediately went to interstellar travel instead of interplanetary. And we could do some stellar engine shit if we want to go interstellar
So, you're saying that to be more sport-ish (odd classification) the **devs should have gone exactly 180 degrees from their initial design goal**.
Which, was to imagine this wild, wonderful planet, and the player will trash the hell out of to build things to escape it. One of those initial decisions was - no resource runs dry. If a node is a node, and not just a chuck of a resource, then it will always put out the normal/pure results. Always. Forever.
That is why there are Sinks. Which are cheap to build, will eat anything you feed to it, and pump out coupons to enable even more build options. The one thing many people miss in the very first run; Run at max, Sink all excess, get coupons, enable new things.
I think it would be interesting if they all started out pure and the purity ran down the more you extracted from it, but it would never deplete entirely, just be reduced to an impure node. Thus requiring the player to upgrade the miner to MK3
So far I’ve only ever consumed a finite amount of resources. If they gave finite resources, but set that finite number at, say, 100x what I’ve consumed so far, that wouldn’t be bad.
Maybe the planet is water dense between harder aspects, so the water trapped in rock within the planet leaks out to replace water you took. That, or we’re in a simulation in a simulation and Somersloops are actually matrix red pills
So the planet's crust is actually rather light compared to earths and rather porous, due to unusually high levels of water present in the solar systems formation there's water about 5 metres under the surface pretty much everywhere that just immediately fills the lake back up.
Headcannoning is fun.
Is headcannoning using your head as a cannonball or shooting a cannon at your head?
Either does not sound fun ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
Ficsit paid off the Beans to occasionally refill the lake.
It *does* empty out, but only off-camera, and there's some panicking Beanfriends with very large buckets making sure you never see it.
The spring seeding that pond is able to keep up with the output. The relief of pressure from your water extractors increase the flow of water into the pond, keeping it at equilibrium.
Why do you think Ficsit chose this location, and hazarded so many failed missions to colonise it before you? They kept on trying because it was worth it.
Why do you think Ficsit chose this planet? Unlimited resources.

Massage-ing the numbers
I always found it funny that all the non-renewable supplies are renewable in Satisfactory, and the one renewable resource IRL is non-renewable.
It's a message about the environment. It's only renewable until you leave some of it to grow back... and it'll take years.
interestingly, this game can be more sport-ish if resourse nodes were finite and slowly degrading. keep some sort of pace, have something to lose eventually
Ever played Dyson Sphere Project?
no, but like this feature in factorio. old mines becomes transport hubs, like it
factorio has the advantage of an infinite world, satisfactory has finite playable space
Sea block man
Yes. Very easy to have an extremely large save. More star systems and planets than most people need.
This wouldn't work with a limited sized map
you my friend just discovered one of real life biggest problems lol
We don't have a limited size map tho, we can go to space, we just need the tech researched
that is giant copium tho, not really possible / efficient. I'd rather have it we don't exploit our perfectly working planet, since like the nearest alternative is still literally light years away

It's entirely possible and entirely efficient. We just need the tech

well, recycle tech?

afaik, at some point they really considered having finite resources. imagine...
So far I’ve only ever consumed a finite amount of resources. If they gave finite resources, but set that finite number at, say, 100x what I’ve consumed so far, that wouldn’t be bad.
Clearly the lake fills at 7401 water per minute
![gif](giphy|Zy7s96dP38MlQe3OjG)
![gif](giphy|yRkTNuMsU15BBtfHJ5)
Then the pond would ever so slowly drown us all.
Thats the plan
Probably getting tips from nestle.
Alien planet, alien physics.
Failien upwards.
It makes sense. We live in a simulation. We create a simulation. Unlimited water.
The answer is quite simple: who the fuck knows?
Where are you piping the water to from spermatozoon lake?
My nuclear fuel rod factory.
The pipes are secrety 2-way, using the water to generate energy then sending it back into the lake
I built my primary base on the cliff behind that lake and ITS SO WEIRD seeing it like this.
I built my base exactly on the bank of where the pond is and then I moved it up to the little plateau with coal so me too buddy
Maybe the planet is water dense between harder aspects, so the water trapped in rock within the planet leaks out to replace water you took. That, or we’re in a simulation in a simulation and Somersloops are actually matrix red pills
Isn't that the definition of ground water?

Large buckets? Those guys are just walking bladders. Why use a bucket when you can just pee?
Because that's not as ~~funny~~ efficient as panicking Beanworkers.
There are rain cycles, plus there is a big river.
There's a river.
It could be connected to an underground well or aquifer
1 water unit is 1 H2O molecule.
Don't you dare give devs any ideas on limited resources. Next year this will be a survival rogue-lite with a battle royale mini-game
Potentially groundwater https://www.britannica.com/science/groundwater
because there is still space available for water extractors. stop slacking and get to building!
water is just a skin for air. its unlimited.
Looks pretty dry around the pond tho
Pipes have 0.001% athmospheric pressure
plus due to the maths, they are actually double units
Infinite water sources, naturally.
In a world of never-depleting ore nodes?
How do you count a liquid, Charlie?
Minecraft infinite water source
Oh please - don’t give them ideas for 1.0….
Ya know that they say, silent waters are deep.
Blue hole.
Alien witchcraft. Only true answer
it took me zoning out for 3 minutes to notice there’s a drone in this screenshot
Simple. You're on a spring
That's my swimming hole .. build a look out tower in the river outlet, and you can dive off.
Unfurtunately no sucking mechanics. You need mods for sucking.
