Yup, everything that is not sun would appear as black. Or, the sun would appear as a giant blown out area in the sky. Also, the moon appears bigger than that during a solar eclipse, no sun would appear below the moon.
Can you explain how you were able to get the color in the photo then? The sun should have blacked out the background, the fingers, and everything else.
Also, you have some minor photoshop issues with the thumb on the right.
